i believe myself to be reasonable at times.

i have noticed these past few weeks that the air regarding transspecies identity and the legitimate, literal transition of species has gotten stale.

nothing has moved. save for some few who have created ID cards, animal HRT, and have been writing essays and workshopping new projects (this is amazing and i want to see more.)

i am not a leader, i don't like leading the strays, but i do like talking and as a louse, i have found it in me to say something in regards to the transspecies symbol i made.

i do not wish this symbol to be used exclusively for transspecies affairs, and i see that it fits better if any/all experiences of literal, physical deviation from zoanormalcy be declared by use of the symbol.

yes, "literal, physical deviation from zoanormalcy" includes deviae folk, physical shifters, body modders, biohackers, physical/biological nonhumans and transspecies folk who are taking nonhuman HRT, or have body modifications, or are physically presenting (with or without permanence) as other than what is normally considered 100% human. this includes religious experiences, somatic experiences, bodily sensationa, and other altered realities of being.

no, this symbol does not include metaphorical physical experiences or otherwise experiences that do not result in literal transformation of flesh, organ, or bone. this of course, doesn't mean i don't support these folk for having metaphorical identities - the mere act of expressing something other than zoanormalcy in any way is almost taboo - but this symbol was made for those who are becoming else, not those who are exploring life through the body they are in now.

this symbol is hereby named "Metamorphosis sui" and refers to what was described above.

each part of the symbol means something. the anchor is for physical shifters, the triangle for holotheres, the line from the delta is for physical nonhumans/therians, and the venus(attached to the anchor)/mars/androgyne represents the spectrum of genders and sexes in relation to animality past human concept.

the symbol itself is not just a way to speak on transspecies folk, it is a way to speak on any single form of transition and metamorphosis from what is considered the normal; breaking boundaries of gender, sex, species, belief, and the body.

Making this a reblog instead of a comment, so I get more space to talk about this, and so that more folks can see the poll itself.

I have different genders for different kintypes! My tree gender is essentially the color/texture silver (so, xenogender). As my avian OC, I’m male-aligned, agender, and a domesticated male bird (in behavior and appearance). As an alien, my gender is cryptic. Unable to be deciphered, just how I like it. I label that one as agender, because I otherwise have no idea what else to call it.

I’m not sure about the other kins. MLP changeling, Loch Ness monster, a netizen; I don’t know. I want to say that Changeling is a xenogender related to bugs/insects, that LNM is watery and aquatic, and that Netizen is something related to the Internet/technology, but even then, I don’t know. I’ll have to do some thinking on that!

No trees, because none of the images I found online look like me, and I don’t feel like doxxing myself today lol.

First image is Indohyus (Zygorhiza ancestor), #2 and #3 are the Loch Ness monster, and the rest are of Zygorhiza, our evolution, and similar species.

Niche Kin Appreciation Challenge, day three

The prompt is: “Share 5 fun facts about your kin!”

Zygorhiza are fairly close whale ancestors, but they evolved from Indohyus, a land mammal that also branched off into modern day deer!

Trees communicate with each other via mycorrhizal networks—Chains of fungi in the soil!

Outside of science, the Loch Ness monster is sometimes thought to be a plesiosaur that survived millions of years unchanged!

Plants can see light, direction, colors (including colors that humans cannot see), and a lot of other stuff! Although, it’s not believed that plants can see complex images like humans do.

Humans are very unusual animals. Most invertebrates (which make up 97-99% of all animal species) are aquatic. Even most vertebrates are fish!

This is by no means an original idea, but I’m making a phylogenetic tree containing different ‘types of people I have encountered, and I would absolutely appreciate if anyone here can contribute their kintype’s binomial (or simply taxon, if you’re a cladotherian/kin). /nf

Unfortunately, I am only able to add earthen species to stay true to taxonomy. Otherwise, I would be more than happy to include both extant and extinct animals, plants, fungi, bacteria, etc.

Also, “kintype” is intentionally broad — those who are otherhearted, archetropers, and/or another identity beyond “identifying as” may share their ‘type as well!

This is how the tree is looking so far.

(I do recognise that different organisations may disagree on some classifications — I highly doubt this will turn out perfectly accurate, especially since I’m a mere enthusiast. I do hope to pursue biology, or more specifically, zoology, in university, but I am still in Lower Sixth at the present. This is purely for self-indulgence, haha.)

Okay, the prompt for yesterday was: Make a playlist for your kin!

“floating” encompasses both the LNM and the zygorhiza. You’ll find that I’ll combine the two in a lot of prompts.

So! What’s my reasoning for making each playlist sound the ways they do?

For “passing time,” I wanted to portray a melancholy feeling. This is because trees live a very long time, and we witness all sorts of life (animals AND plants) that we love, but eventually they all just… Go away. Whether it be that they moved to another location, or that they died. Human me is just one of these many creatures that will eventually move on. So I wanted to share that feeling, even just a little.

As for “floating?” idk honestly i just wanted to give off the feeling of swimming LOL

Niche Kin Appreciation Challenge, day one

Hello, everyone! I have decided to participate in the 30-day challenge for niche kintypes (which is linked above). But rather than doing just one kintype, I’m going to be doing several. Out of the eight confirmed ones, and excluding fictotypes, I will be talking about my tree, Loch Ness monster, and zygorhiza identities!

The first prompt is: Introduce your kin!

Currently, my most prominent aspect is a tree—specifically a silver maple tree, and to be even more specific, I’m one which exists in this reality. In my own backyard, even!

For privacy reasons, I can’t share pictures of myself, so I’ll just describe what I look like. I’m an oldie, and although I couldn’t even give an estimate on how old I probably am, I’d say I’m way older than most trees you see around. I have four main branches that stem off from the base, and I am really tall. I’m surrounded by a circle of stones, which have been there for decades.

Next, there’s my Loch Ness monster (LNM) kintype, along with my zygorhiza paratype. I’m sure you all know what the LNM looks like, but I’ll bet most of you don’t even know what a zygorhiza is. They’re ancient whales, and… Y’know what, I’ll just get a picture, lol
