Turns out it was per blog so bye again.
So.. I've checked in on here for the first time in a while and the option for turning off AI scraping is gone. Can anyone tell me if they're still doing it?

sometimes i wonder if every part of my personality these days is a glowing beacon that shrieks to the world "this woman has a tumblr account!" and i start to get legitimately concerned about it except then i remember that all the people best equipped to recognize the signs in the wild are also on this website so. devil's sacrament, etc. the fact that the phrase "devil's sacrament" came so readily to my mind just then is probably a point in favor of an affirmative answer to that first question isn't it

it's hilarious how if you do any amount of research into life or death melee combat the prevailing themes that emerge are that
you're gonna get tired very quickly
tired leads to injured, injured leads to tired, tired leads to—
you're not gonna be as composed as you expect
humans are more fragile than you think and also more durable than you think. both are true and neither stop them from dying of an infection later (DO NOT GET BITTEN)
DO NOT GET STABBED (generally good life advice)
DO GET A SPEAR
knights are faster than you think

They are already selling data to midjourney, and it's very likely your work is already being used to train their models because you have to OPT OUT of this, not opt in. Very scummy of them to roll this out unannounced.

[ID: First image. A Twitter screenshot of someone replying to a comment saying you can only disable Copilot, saying Don't do this. You can get rid of Copilot without editing your registry. You need a program called Geek Uninstaller. It's reputable. Check around. Copilot relies on Edge. Without Edge, there is no Copilot. Use Geek Uninstaller, choose edge, right click force removal. end ID]

How to Kill Microsoft's AI "Helper" Copilot WITHOUT Screwing With Your Registry!
Hey guys, so as I'm sure a lot of us are aware, Microsoft pulled some dickery recently and forced some Abominable Intelligence onto our devices in the form of its "helper" program, Copilot. Something none of us wanted or asked for but Microsoft is gonna do anyways because I'm pretty sure someone there gets off on this.
Unfortunately, Microsoft offered no ways to opt out of the little bastard or turn it off (unless you're in the EU where EU Privacy Laws force them to do so.) For those of us in the United Corporations of America, we're stuck... or are we?
Today while perusing Bluesky, one of the many Twitter-likes that appeared after Musk began burning Twitter to the ground so he could dance in the ashes, I came across this post from a gentleman called Nash:
Tumblr media
Intrigued, I decided to give this a go, and lo and behold it worked exactly as described!
We can't remove Copilot, Microsoft made sure that was riveted and soldered into place... but we can cripple it!
Simply put, Microsoft Edge. Normally Windows will prevent you from uninstalling Edge using the Add/Remove Programs function saying that it needs Edge to operate properly (it doesn't, its lying) but Geek Uninstaller overrules that and rips the sucker out regardless of what it says!
I uninstalled Edge using it, rebooted my PC, and lo and behold Copilot was sitting in the corner with blank eyes and drool running down it's cheeks, still there but dead to the world!
Now do bear in mind this will have a little knock on effect. Widgets also rely on Edge, so those will stop functioning as well.
Before:

After:
Tumblr media
But I can still check the news and weather using an internet browser so its a small price to pay to be rid of Microsoft's spyware-masquerading-as-a-helper Copilot.
But yes, this is the link for Geek Uninstaller:
Run it, select "Force Uninstall" For anything that says "Edge," reboot your PC, and enjoy having a copy of Windows without Microsoft's intrusive trash! :D

Beware of the new art book scams
Hey there, I'm putting together a little PSA. Art book ads can no longer be trusted. I recently got an ad for an art book from a company called Comicpencil. The book is all AI generated content. I didn't purchase it, but after digging I found a youtube video from an artist called Jazza pointing out that there is no credit to any artists anywhere. He purchased the book and pointed out that a lot of the text content also makes very little sense.
Tumblr media
I tried commenting on the ad pointing out that it was AI generated and my post was instantly deleted and I was blocked. I think they have some kind of detecting software that flags any mention of AI on their ads to keep up the charade. Here's one of their posts on one of the better AI image detectors, Hivemoderation. I know these things aren't always accurate but they can definitely help indicate AI if the results are consistent enough. I tested a few I could find that weren't obscured to hell and sure enough they all came out with these results.
Tumblr media
Please. I urge you to share this. Scams in general are going to be getting worse thanks to AI and it's really important people are aware of this. Be vigilant.
