For our new series of girlboss interiors we payed a visit to the wonderfull home of Lize Spit, writer of the (very) famous book ‘Het Smelt’. Lize bought the apartment in 2017 and renovated it for a whole year in 2018. She moved in April 2019 together with her cat named Poes. ;) The kitchen is designed by Wood blaster a Brussels based interior/carpenters company. We love the kitchen colors & the bright living room with the beautiful yellow Jiri Jiroutek cupboard. http://www.kantoorkontent.be/

The Kif Kef Loft is a rental space for Airbnb or shooting locations. I absolutely adore this space because of the bright light in here! Feel like citytrippin’ Antwerp? Here you go ===> https://www.airbnb.be/rooms/21978966

The Kif Kef home part 2. While renovating their new home Sumeyye decided she wanted to make a professional career out of her new passion, so in case you like her style and you wish to get some advice, call or mail this #ladyboss to make an appointement for some consultancy advice! At this moment she has an interior agency in Antwerp! More info at kifkef.be or on Instagram Sumeyya.AtaÂ

Discover my -part 1- of my visit to the Kif Kef home. Sumeyye Ata, the girlboss behind Kif Kef is one of the most creative women I know in the interior business. 5 years ago she started with her own webshop Kif Kef, famous for it’s ‘bars chairs’. At that time she lived in Mortsel (Antwerp) with her husband and little boy. The two of them renovated their little home and sold it. Their first home was already a huge Pinterest hit so the signs pointed to a bigger succes when they decided to buy a new -much bigger- home in Antwerp. They renovated & seperated the house in 4 levels. Level 0 = The Kif Kef Studio Level 1 = The home Level 2 = The Kif Kef Appartement (Airbnb/ rental accommodation) Level 3 = The Kif Kef Loft (Also rental place) The renovation has been huge and most impressive part is they did most of it themselves. (Really, still don’t know where they found or will find the time in the future... especially if you know they also have twins now. (1,5yrs old) & a little boy 4yrs old.

Our last day of the Gardenroute was spend in Jeffreys bay, we started our day with a breakfast at 100% Jbay Bru, the best part of this place is that it had a big inside playground.
Afterwards we drove to Port Elizabeth for our flight back to Capetown.
The view on table mountain was just stunning!

Wednesday the 31th of January we drove to Tsitsikamma national park, the park is famous for it’s big suspension bridge (77meters!) that hangs over the black waters of the Storms River Mouth.Â
A day before we booked a Kayak session with “Kayak & Lilo & it’s was awesome! Completely satisfied & tired we drove off to Jeffreys Bay. ‘Jbay’ (like the locals name it...) is a spot famous for ‘supertubes’ (Very big waves) and pro surfers place this hotspot in their top 10 favorite surfing places all around the world! We went to the beach & had a lovely dinner (& lunch! :)) in ‘Kitchen Windows’ a restaurant really really worth mentioning! We stayed here for 2 night in the casa surf lodge.

On wednesday we arrived at our second Gardenroute stop; Plettenberg Bay. We decided to stay in this area for 3 nights because there are a lot of things in this area that we want(ed) to visit. On our first day here we decided to visit the elephant park, Beau loves elephants and has been talking about going to see them since we told her we were coming to South-Africa. The elephant park specializes in rescuing abandoned elephants & elephant orphans. When the elephant is feeling secure again the animal goes back to an ‘open’ area. This healthy way of park-visiting attracted us and we liked it very much, we have pet the elephants and gave them their lunch. It really was an extraordinary experience. Afterwards we drove around in Knysna and visited the Knysna ‘Heads’ - view point. On our way back we went to the Plettenberg beach. During the evening we went to ‘Tsala three lodge restaurant’. The ideal location to thank our mom for all the things she has done for us in the past year. <3

On mondaymorning we first had to stop at the V&A Waterfront - since Beau lost one of her new (!!!) sandals - before we could take off to our first stop on the Gardenroute; Cape L’Agulhas.
Cape L’Agulhas is the most southern point of the African continent & is geographically the tip where the indian & Atlantic ocean meet.
We arrived around 4pm in our new Airbnb house and had to go to the beach first (it was a long drive for Beau…)
The beach + coastline is very very beautiful here & the water was also really warm!Â

On sundaymorning my hubby went snorkling/diving with Deep-South-Adventures near Miller’s Point. And we chilled on our private beach... :)
Afterwards we went for lunch in Simon’s Town.Â
In the evening we attended a Kirstenbosch concert from a band named ‘The Soil’.
We had such a warm & loving day. Especially the concert was so beautiful. For the first time we noticed a ‘real South-African’ crowd with a perfect mix of all nations, colors & religions. A true rainbow nation.

The weather was on our side again today. So we went to -after a deluxe breakfast at home- Cape of good hope! Since it was the 4th time visiting the Cape I already knew how to drive and where to stop for the best sights! -Whoop Whoop!-
Also word mentioning - I knew that the baboons are part of the Cape so that we better kept our doors locked when driving thru the Unesco (!!!) world heritage national parc. (Since they like to open doors & check your car for sugar(y) items.
Like always the wind was present so our picture of 3 generations at the Cape is quiet funny. In the afternoon we drove back via Chapman’s Peak. This place is so beautiful...

Six years ago I did a voluntary project in Muizenberg. The project - giving surfing lessons to children from the nearby township Capricorn- has evolved to ... (1) a pizza restaurant called Ovenbaked which supports (so when you buy a pizza the money goes to...) (2) the Surf Outreach Project.  It was so nice for me to see the evolution of this project & to meet my best friend who made this project to what it has become today again! If you ever know somebody who wants to do a voluntary job, definitely refer them to this project. I wouldn’t have said this 6 years ago but today the project is exactly where it has to be. And it could use all kinds of help!
During our day in Muizenberg we first had breakfast at @empirecafe later we went surfing on the beach.Â

From Longstreet we walked up to Kloofstreet (my personal favorite street!)with cool shops & nice bars. We had an ice-cream at Unframed and afterwards cocktails (yes it’s holiday) in the beautiful patio from Tigers’s Milk.
In the mean time Ben went to the Barber Shop Widow maker. From here we collected our car first at Bo-Kaap again and we went to Waterfront. We had dinner in the Belgian restaurant named ‘het Anker’. 6 years ago this restaurant was really really good, but today it was a little bit disappointing. So it was an emotional throwback but not blown away by the food unfortunately.Â

On monday we visited the Bo-Kaap, we decided to have breakfast at ‘Haas’ but apparently ‘Haas’ wasn’t there anymore. :) So we parked our car and walked around in the small but beautiful ‘Bo-Kaap’.
From there we walked to Long-Street, the ‘main’ street from Capetown and had breakfast at Lola’s. Like always the food was awesome again...
