Just came across a post of someone screaming to use the right aventio/ratiorine ship name depending on what top/bottom dynamic you like and I would just like to go on record and say I had no idea that was a thing and I think it’s stupid and I say aventio because it’s cuter than ratiorine and I will continue to say aventio thanks for coming to my ted talk

I’m going to say something that is going to make people angry but no one else is saying it so…

Aventurine’s culture being based on Romani culture does not mean that every single aspect of Romani culture applies to his in-game culture. Hoyo as a company has shown many times in the past that they will pick and choose different parts of a culture to create their in-game cultures. They are not saying that every single part of a culture is meant to be represented, they’re just taking inspiration, there’s a difference. Not only would it break immersion to see a real life culture depicted in-game, but imagine how offensive it would be if they got something wrong? Imagine how hypercritical we would all be of them?

Aventurine is NOT Romani, he is Sigonian, a fictional culture that is based on the real world Romani culture, but is NOT the same thing. They will have overlaps, but they will also have differences. They are NOT one and the same.

Saying that just because something is Romani it must ALSO apply to Aventurine makes no sense because he ISNT Romani. Please let’s remember to separate our real lives when talking about these fictional characters. You can assume and hope and guess and think that maybe a certain aspect of Romani culture might also apply to him? But it’s not a fact, it’s a headcanon, please don’t treat it as canon.

At the end of the day we will never know what aspects of the Romani culture hoyo intends to be part of the Sigonian culture, but that’s why headcanons are fun. You can pretend all you like! Just remember it won’t make it any more canon.

Been thinking of Aventurine a lot and the fact Ratio never uses his name

When Jade was talking to him his name was still Kakavasha and right before that the IPC news mentions a “Egyhazo Aventurine” fraud case and Jade mentioned how he lied to the Intelligentsia Guild so it seems very possible to me that Ratio met him before he was Aventurine and maybe that’s why he only ever refers to him as gambler? Maybe he actually uses his real name but knows he can’t say it on Penacony? Just seemed odd how he NEVER says it, not even when talking to other people about him. The only time we hear Ratio say the word “aventurine” is when he’s talking about the stone to Sunday, but he never says it in reference to the person Aventurine.

I’m probably overthinking this but it just seemed like the dialogue was going out of its way to keep Ratio from saying Aventurine, but when there was no way around it they just had him say gambler

Edit: Should add that I play in English and haven’t looked at the other languages, so maybe it just so happens that he never calls him Aventurine in English even tho he does in other languages? In that case this wouldn’t matter at all but I have no idea

So glad the people are resonating with this post 😁😁 it’s truly such an important scene, bc unlike a different scene where Dazai relied on his ABILITY to come out unscathed, here he completely relies on Chuuya, and he is facing that unafraid. Look at him, there is not an ounce of doubt or hesitation on that man’s face

We as a fandom moved on waaayy too fast from this panel because why is Dazai looking at him like that? He looks SO fond and soft. That’s no way to look at a man holding a gun to your head. Even though it was part of the plan, he still had full trust in Chuuya and that he wasn’t about to kill him, he’s so relaxed he doesn’t care about that gun, in this moment all he cares about is Chuuya

I don’t think that panel of Fukuzawa thinking of the ADA members and leaving out Dazai has anything to do with Dazai being transferred to the PM, it wouldn’t make much narrative sense to do that, I do think it’s implying something that most people aren’t willing to acknowledge and/or talk about though 👀👀

This is so unrelated to anything I post here but I’ve seen a LOT of BSD users doing this so I will be tagging it with bungo tags in the hopes you people will see it.

Eating disorder / self harm glorification accounts.

I’m honestly so angry that I’m seriously trying to hold back because I’m not trying to insult you personally. All of you that glorify these mental disorders and have accounts dedicated to longing for anorexic bodies and romanticize cutting. You are all in so much need for mental health help. That should go without saying. And this post isn’t about targeting you, I also can’t take a vested interest in the mental health of strangers on the internet, as I have people in my own life that need attention.

I’m not here to preach, you know your behaviors are beyond harmful and you do it anyway.

My only ask, for the love of whatever god it is you believe in, PLEASE make your accounts private. I would seriously get down on my knees and beg you if I could. The fact anyone can stumble on your accounts, young impressionable people with no idea they’re reading the thoughts of someone in severe need of mental help, saddens me so much. Because it becomes a cycle, you encourage others to think and act like you. You clearly don’t care for your own mental health but why would you want to drag others down with you?

This is another big reason why BSD is for adults, bc of the way it handles mental health issues with a blasé attitude and uses comedy. Idk who needs to hear this, but that is NOT how those issues are meant to be handled irl.

A general reminder, eating disorders have the highest fatality rates out of all mental health disorders, especially for girls and women.

I will be reporting any public account I find that glorifies these disorders and self harm. I’ve already reported three, they are still under investigation. I reported them on Twitter, I haven’t seen any here on tumblr but I will report on any platform I find them in. I encourage you all to do the same.

The amount of Dazai mischaracterization in this fandom is CRAZY

I’m not tagging this with a thing because I don’t feel like getting jumped today but whew I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of people finally realizing that Dazai doesn’t actually give a shit about Sigma past “this is a person -> this person became involved in a dangerous situation -> the right thing to do is my best to try to keep them alive” NOT “I must keep this person alive because they matter a lot to me personally and I would be very sad if they died or got hurt” 🥴 plus also the fact that Sigma is useful to him for information, I do think he would’ve tried to keep him alive even if he wasn’t useful, but NOT because he cares about him or has some sort of personal interest in his well being 💀 (he also would probably not have tried as hard if sigma wasn’t useful)

Like that’s so crazy to me do y’all even know who Dazai is 😭😭

Anyway like I was saying I was pleasantly surprised and then those people started showing up with their pitchforks and now I’m back to having very little faith
