undoubtedly there’s got to be a fic or two about this already (pls link me if so) but the danbury and bridgerton carriages arrive so close together at the conservatory ball that what if the danbury & sharma clan were still making their way inside when the bridgerton carriages pulled up and the families meet/introduce one another outside.

violet is getting out of her carriage and sees lady danbury accompanied by a couple ladies and in her determination to help anthony find a match, she loudly states “oh and lady danbury has done a fine job with this ball!” or something like that and lady danbury turns around anthony literally stops in his tracks for a second when kate turns and kate is all wide-eyed and takes her a moment to smile in greeting and then kanthony ensues

maybe there’s already fics for this but the sheffield dinner is a gold mine for potential. like the fallout of anthony calling out the sheffields…

what if after the sheffields left, before the kate & anthony scene, there’s actual discussion in the dining room and anthony calls out that no one else was standing up for kate and i can imagine lady danbury as a subtle reminder being like “remember this was a dinner to meet your fiancée’s grandparents” and then edwina is catching on then and she’s like “you called them out because you love kate” or something like that and things fall apart there

imagine kate trying to tell edwina that she’s leaving for india so none of this matters and whatever passion the viscount may feel for her will fade and is just residual of the passion he feels for edwina and their marriage will be fine and he won’t be confused once she leaves for india and anthony cuts in, in front of everyone the whole “it will not be far enough!” line and the speech too, ending with the bane of his existence and object of all his desires ahhhhh

there’s probably already a fic like this but i need 15 where they’re at the conservatory ball and lady danbury is looking for where anthony ran off to so she can introduce him to the sharma family and she spots him through the window in the ballroom and whoops who’s that he’s speaking to?

anyway she goes outside and hears his “so you find my smiling pleasing?” comment and right when kate goes to leave, lady danbury comes around the bend of the bush and is like “well miss sharma, i see you’ve made your own introduction to lord bridgerton”

let the chaos ensue in which kate does all to discourage his pursuit of edwina while lady danbury does all to push him and kate together instead and it’s like a three way battle of wills lol

part of me wants to be like ‘lady danbury forces them to get married because of them being alone at the conservatory ball’ but i think she’d give anthony a few warning shots with her cane in reality and a lecture about propriety with a warning that the next time is marriage

what about a s2 kanthony au where it’s near the start of the season (maybe before the races?) anthony intends to send flowers to edwina to show how he’s a great suitor to consider but as he’s advising what to put on the card (either himself writing it at the florist or what he’s telling his butler or whoever), he’s distracted because he’s thinking of kate and how to best her or something and because he’s distracted, he advises the flowers are to be for Miss Kate Sharma.

And it’s the first bouquet that Kate ever received and she’s confused because isn’t he trying to court her sister but he put such a sweet note and she’s softened by it. She assumes it’s purpose was to soften her to garner favor with Edwina but she still appreciates her first bouquet and it’s proper that she thanks him regardless. then at the races, Kate approaches him and thanks him for them and Anthony is just like ???? Flowers?

And Kate’s like “yes my lord, the bouquet you sent to me at lady danbury’s house this morning? The Lillies and tulips?”

And he’s like “oh! Oh yes. Yes. Those flowers. That I sent to you. Yes. Of course. You’re welcome.”

And that’s when his plans for the season change.

I think it would’ve been funny if Hyacinth caused purposeful chaos post-races because she clearly knows what’s best for her big brother/pseudo-father Anthony.

So I just imagine ahead of going to Aubrey Hall that Anthony sits down with Hyacinth (and maybe Gregory and Fran?) and is like what did you guys think of Miss Edwina Sharma at the races? And Hyacinth/the kids speak nice and politely about her. And then Anthony asks how she’d/they’d feel about Edwina joining their family/being their sister. And Hyacinth pulls out a line like this from the Parent Trap.

She’s just like “Oh I think Edwina will be a wonderful big sister! And you’d be such a great brother to her!”

Cue Anthony trying to set things straight and Hyacinth being purposely obtuse like “funny joke, brother! I think it’s a splendid idea you plan to propose to Miss Sharma and have Miss Edwina join our family too!”

And then it continues to escalate during their early invitation at Aubrey Hall.

Mainly I just was to see that purposeful “misunderstanding” in the parent trap used in a way for Anthony & Hyacinth lmaoooo

been rewatching the kanthony s3 clip all afternoon but now im just wondering what would’ve happened if anthony in all his unhinged chaos couldn’t control himself and stole a kiss from kate (like he does during their 3x01 dance) during their aubrey hall dance

Has a Kanthony Cinderella AU been done yet? Because I feel like their meeting in the park is the perfect foundation for one, whether it’s what causes the Prince Viscount to host a ball for all in order to find his mystery princess horse rider — or it’s the perfect setting for the Cinderella Kate to have left a shoe token of importance like her mother’s bangle behind and The Prince Anthony to search all the kingdom England for the owner.

Anthony as Douglas, older widowed father to twin girls.

Kate as Poppy, divorced mum to her son

Benedict as Will, overly involved single dad to his daughter

Sophie as Angie, young mum to son she had in college

Colin as Miggy, single dad without a clue to baby girl

I can totally see Violet as the twins’ grandma taking them to a beauty pageant and telling Anthony they need more positive females in their lives

I have to be honest, anon — I have never watched an episode of Single Parents. I have heard lovely things but I have yet to watch it (it is on my watchlist though!!!). But now im invested. I love seeing my favorite characters being parents and attempting to navigate life and I just want this so badly now 😭😭

there are sincerely not enough conservatory ball Kanthony AUs so here’s my contribution with a prompt:

Conservatory Ball AU where Anthony & fam arrive at the ball but Violet wants to say hello to Lady Danbury first and as they gather together, that’s when Lady Danbury introduces the Bridgerton family clan to the Sharma ladies and Anthony’s all distracted and giddy like “oh it’s you” and Kate tries to be dismissive meanwhile at the same time, Violet is talking to Danbury & Mary and then does her loud announcement of “the Viscount intends to marry this season” and Anthony does his whole scandalized/annoyed “Mother!” And then they watch as the ladies of the ton descend upon them all for Anthony and Anthony looks to Kate and is like “actually Miss Sharma has already acquired my first dance. Pardon us, ladies.” Cue Kate wanting to disagree and Lady Danbury hitting her leg with her cane and then Kanthony sharing their first dance. :)

where’s the kanthony au where the ring remains stuck on kate’s finger and they can’t get it off but anthony refuses to let it be cut (both because it is a family ring and because he fears them cutting kate’s finger too)

and then later that day while out and about or the next night or something, it is noticed and talked about and in whistledown

so then they craft the lie that anthony never proposed to Edwina and that he actually proposed to kate, just to save both their families reputations

Bringing this back because I need this chaos. I can also imagine Kate being like ‘what the fuck’ because Edwina would be the PERFECT diamond but the queen chose Eloise

been a hot second since i dipped my toes in the bridgerton fandom but i need a season two au where eloise is named diamond to her horror and that totally ruins anthony’s plans too

suddenly in need of a time-loop bridgerton fic. like imagine anthony reliving the first day of the season and trying to extend the horse ride with kate in the morning (he doesn’t even know it’s a time-loop on the second day at first lol) and trying not to piss her off more at the dance… incredible. i need and want it.
