How COVID-19 affects private renting
Although not block management, I read a very interesting article detailing what the government are doing to protect renters. It seems that during this lockdown period being in arrears on your rent is no longer grounds for eviction.
This is great for people who may have lost their jobs or have reduced working hours and don’t make enough money to cover their rent. Hoever, private landlords are now in a sticky situation as now their income is affected and with no end date in site and no relief plans to help landlords, many of them are left frustrated and scared.
Should this last for the rest of the year (hopefullly not) landlords who’s primary source of income is rent or who also may have been made redundant or have had working hours reduced may default on their mortgages. I think it’s safe to assume many of private landlords are in the situation, which could mean horrible things for the enconmy as a whole. Hopefully we should see some relief plans put in place for landlords as well.
It’s truly unforutante the ties we are in.

Regulations and Legislations
After speaking to my tutor Stuart, he helped me realise how important legislations are in my rpoject. Prior to the below I didn’t really mention any legislations at all. But after our phone I did some research into legislations and expanded on the ones thhat were the most applicable to my project.

Questionnaire
Currently trying to brainstorm how to write a proper questionnaire so that I’m able to gather relevant data to will help. A very important part of my project as this would give answers from stakeholders that can be used to evaluate the current processes in place. I can use this feedback to then base my suggestions on what to improve for the new system.

My project
My project proposal has been recently been sent, I’m hoping this is approved. In the meantime, I have started drafting my presentation nothing serious so far. I do have a couple of slides done already but most slides are just templates for when things will go on later, for example, questionnaire results analysis.
