History & Legends of Mykonos

There are many legends deriving from the island, but two are the most interesting. That legend says that the island was named after the local hero Mykonos, who was worshipped in Ancient Greece and was considered to be the son of the god Apollo.

The other legends says that the island is the location of a great battle between Zeus and the Titans which is where Hercules killed the invincible giants having lured them from the protection of Mount Olympus. According to myth, the large rocks all over the island are said to be the petrified remains of the giants.

Mykonos Nightlife

Mykonos arguably has the best nightlife in Greece with a lot of great venues, parties, restaurants and clubs to offer everyday. As one of the most unique destinations in the Mediterranean, it offers a different lifestyle altogether from other destinations by combining non-stop entertainment with flamboyant luxury. There are a lot of great places and parties on different parts of the island.
