My Mastery Journal 'Web Analytics and Optimization - Online'
The usual process by which I enter a class is to go in with a blank slate and no preconceived notions of what to expect. I went into the ‘Web Analytics and Optimization – Online’ course with an open mind and a willingness to learn as much as possible. I have used Google Analytics in the past and currently do use some of the features to keep tabs on the performance of my personal page. The content shared by the professor was vast and the links to pertinent materials and other site posts was as well.
From working on the course material to debunk myths to gaining perspective on web analytic principals, the course was very easy to engage with and provided a lot of content to go over. The creation of various presentations and leveraging the tools we have currently at our disposal, the weekly assignments kept building upon the previous. Looking that the breakdown of S.M.A.R.T. goals and KPI basics and how these pertain to the reporting that is necessary to capture the relevant and pertinent information that many companies are looking for in their reports.
Many of the real-world applications of these reports as well as the way in which they are displayed for consumption were key elements of this course. Knowing that just because you can collect all sorts of data doesn’t mean that you need to display all the data is how we as professionals discern what drives a company’s goals and how they should (operative word) measure their successes. Business intelligence is part of the way in which many companies measure the successes of their company’s effort against competitors. This ultimately delivers the data that can be used to see if the company is on the right track.
In short the course worked to help me develop a better understanding of working with what you have and maximizing your output with what you can before going into working with more robust systems. Going back to the less is more and quantifiable and qualitative data can only be best displayed when the person manipulating the reports has a good if not great understanding of what the actual goal should be vice what it is.

AIM Mastery Reflection Assignment (Advance Internet Marketing)
I go into this course as I try to do with all courses, with an open mind and no predetermined idea of what to cover. This allows me to go through the material with as objective a mindset as possible. Throughout the weeks in this course the materials provided to review and to complete the course assignments have been valuable. I have bookmarked many of the links provided for further review in the future.
The course material was progressive and steadily built up to the final weeks assignment. I have seen other models that are similar to the AIDAS model and feel that it was a good training tool to support in class and my extracurricular activities. While working through the material such as the development of relationships, testing and optimization I was able to gather data that worked on many levels to provide the client reporting figures that help sell the campaign ideas.
The ability to quantify the proposal elements gives validity to the potential for success of the campaign I worked on. In the sessions we reviewed, the GoTo Training recordings permitted me to review and revise the work I was doing.
One of the activities that really offered me the most return was the evaluation and the deep dive into Woot.com. The chance to use tools such as SEMRush and Whois made the research interesting and impressive to digesting the data.
In closing, the valuable content reviewed in this course was instrumental to some of the things I have been working on to present a solid business proposal to RKAcademy.org and gain their business. At the end of these certification courses I will have a fully fleshed out and presentable proposal.

IMMS Mastery Reflection (New Media Marketing)
I usually enter a course with a clean slate and no expectations, in this case, I did not, and it affected the way I approached the weekly task. During this time in the 'New Media Marketing' course, there were numerous times where terminology and expectations were not in sync with the overall goals. I have learned to ask multiple purposeful questions and review the answers before taking on tasks to provide the right work. In marketing, there are instances in which generalizations are used and cases in which specifics are used (even when making projections).
In this marketing class, there is a lot of information and a lot of options that cater to a grand majority of businesses. This does not mean that all companies can fit the criterion for most marketing initiatives. Much of what I have learned in this course was through demanding applications of efforts that don't fit most of the course learnings.
There was a portion of the course material that did provide insight as well as make me go beyond what I was willing to do. Due to many parts of the assigned work not fitting the client I selected I was forced to separate class work from real work. For the class, there is a need to show proof that you understand the practical applications of the course material. The ability to display the ideas by demonstrating a well-thought-out plan for the weekly assignments does this.
In the real-life applications, there is a need not only to show that you can use the learned material but leverage the research done on them to provide the right solution. Some companies can and do have the ability to support significant initiatives, and some are better served to chip away at their goals. Organic expansion and sustainable efforts can be the best course of action small niche companies can benefit from. In many cases, the brand ambassador programs can be developed from within making a case for organic, self-sustaining content development.
A lot of the supporting content and external links offer a plethora of great insight and very powerfully crafted ideas on research and proven success in many marketing initiatives from small to large companies. I can personally say that this has been a learning experience and it provided me with plenty of resources to support my future projects.

INTERNET MARKETING FUNDAMENTALS W4: Mastery Assignment
I have gone into this class as I do with all of the classes I have participated in, with an open mind and a lack of expectations (other than to learn). So as not to close my mind to anything different than what I have already dealt with in my professional life, if feel this lets me absorb as much as I can without preconceived notions. In the ‘Internet Marketing Fundamentals’ class I was introduced to some literature that did expand on things I have dealt with before as well as open my eyes to new things that I can work with on future projects.
During the class I was able to attend the GoTo-Trainings and absorb as much as possible from the Course Director. The class level was explained as a Mastery level class and it offered assignments that I can say felt up to that level. The week one through week four material did build upon themselves and offered an increased need to review and relate to the previous material. Throughout the course there is time to see many of the Lynda.com course material that related to this class and use those courses to expand on my subject matter knowledge.
The discussion boards were a great element to see into the thought process of my cohort and comment on the material the gathered and presented in these. I was able to comment and for my own benefit copy and save some of the post to review them in the future. Being able to go back and check their references and add them to my bookmarks for future review, I felt was instrumental to my own personal growth. Interacting with my cohort via comments and re-commenting was a great way to pick each other’s brain and gather valuable information.
In summary, this class was a great start to this course certification and cemented my choice in taking this Certification. I am all about learning something new, even when you think you have done it before, being taught by someone else will bring new perspective.

Mastery Journal Program Reflection Assignment:
The Mastery course designated as the “Final Project: Business Plan” took every previous month’s course material and made sure that we purposefully applied our learnings for the presentation of our ‘Business Plan.' From the initial course to the final project, the progression was systematic and offered an excellent opportunity to be successful on the date of presentation. The level of materials each course offered was, in my opinion, a natural continuation of the Media Communications bachelors of science (MCBS) course I took in my undergraduate studies. With this being the case many of the class's assigned projects took a deeper dive into some of the projects I previously completed.
The hardest part of the EBMS course was working hard to compliment and not plagiarize me in the process. The continuation of my business plan and its development took on a new life with the implementation of the mastery course material. The knowledge acquired and the supplemental material that I have been able to archive from each course offers me a valuable resource for future reference. Every course director was passionate about their area of instruction and displayed a deep understanding of their course title. My understanding of the content offered in each course was key to putting it all together in the end. Having access to the Proforma, and the three-year projections allowed me to take a solid look at what is needed to make that move to become a small business owner.
From protecting myself with copyright, trademark, to making the right choices with publishing and distribution of my original content, the knowledge I have gained is paramount to my future success. When valuing myself as a potential employee for a company or as the right type of business owner I can look back on this journey and feel confident in whatever choice I make. Learning the legal ramifications of every creative output and identifying when to pick and choose my battles have gone from scary and intimidating to empowering. The business plan I have worked on requires continued work as I see a potential for a profitable micro company in the central Florida area. The niche may dissolve in the future, but until then, constant evaluation and adjustments will be key until I can fully raise my company off the ground.
Being an Entrepreneur is a challenge and a journey that not everyone can go on. I hope that I can take this to the next level.

My BPD (Business Plan Development) Journal Entry
I have entered this course with no goal or expectation, I do this to be able to absorb as much as possible with little to no bias. Within the first week I tied a bit of the fundamentals of this course to the previous course called ‘Entertainment Business Finance’. Much or the research done to full in the ‘Pro-forma’ was very valuable to working out the assignments of this course. Building off what was previously covered is always validating and offers a good sense that the studies are complementing and offer a great value to the overall goal of being a ‘Master’ or as close to one in the area of entertainment business.
The insights that have been provided along the way have been helpful, the coursework along the way has been building course by course. Many of the practices that I have been able to follow during my time in the entertainment media space has offered me real-world views on the course material. The reality that there are professionals that do this type of work on a daily basis is eye-opening. For those that are looking to be small business owners and they work towards expanding their company; all I can say is that it is a labor of love and devotion.
Throughout the course I have had the opportunity to learn a lot of the intricate elements that can be used to shape a business plan. The need for course correction when the plan that you set in motion does not necessarily work at the point where your dream and the numbers don’t synchronize as you would like them to. The reality that there is a need to make sure that big idea has what it needs not only in vision but in financial viability is necessary. If you are willing and able to build your business from the ground up without the need for an investor then best of luck. If you are willing to build a business and demonstrate to a potential investor that their investment will be fruitful and offer a return on their investment then you have what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.
In the event that I can take my idea and apply the necessary elements to make it appealing for a potential investor; I will have a valuable product, I will be honest and say that I have the ability to crunch the numbers and look at the projections, but not the drive to be self-made entrepreneur. At best, I have previously been a intrapreneur and seen my ideas flourish inside the business model of others. Knowing the difference and being able to follow the different trends in entrepreneurship is key to being a good business person. I feel that I can identify and nurture this from within an already established company and know that for all the entrepreneurs out there, there are counterparts that work from within large companies and can be as effective.

MDP (Media Distribution and Publishing) Journal Entry
As with all of the previous classes, I come in with no predetermined expectations. This is a learning opportunity after all. But in this case there are some questions to answer clearly, and here is my attempt below
* What was your original goal for this course? I set a goal to work as hard as I can to get the best grade possible! The side effect of that is hopefully more than just a better understanding of the subject matter, but more of a mastery of the subject matter, that is the goal, isn’t it?
* How was this goal met by the course? During my time in this class, the course director not only demonstrated that they were a subject matter expert, but also a continuing contributor to it. The course material builds upon the previous months’ subject matter well, as well it offers an extended insight into the area of publishing and distribution. Overall the chance to learn and expand on some of the knowledge I already possessed was very welcomed.
* What did you learn from this course? I was able to expand on the previous knowledge I had in publishing as well and regain the name of key companies, groups, and entities that would serve me in the future should I go the route of publishing my work.
* How will you apply the material learned either personally or professionally? All the knowledge that has been offered in the classes leading up to this one have been building blocks for me as a professional out in the entertainment industry. The course material is not only a good read but a valuable archive of elements that will serve me well in the industry. I keep a copy of all course material and do review it on occasions where it will further my understanding on related topics.
With the hopefully inevitable date of graduation coming soon, I feel this class was well positioned towards the last few months of the Entertainment Business Master of Science. The material that is discussed within, as well as the format in which it is being discussed, opens up the door for creative speaking. It relies on research and requires confidence in the delivery of its presentations. I think that this was a very productive month (not to say that previous ones were not) and builds upon the courses previous classes in a cohesive way (in my opinion).

My AEL (Advanced Entertainment Law) Journal Entry
As with all previous EBMS (Entertainment Business Masters of Science) courses, I enter AET (Advanced Entertainment Law) with no expectations. Due to my wanting to gain from the course the most possible without leaning towards a particular focus and missing out on the complete experience. Simply said, I try to enter into the class with a blank slate and see what it draws out of my previous experiences throughout the course material. By doing this, I try to let go of what may have been misconceptions and leave room for genuinely new material. I did take an Intellectual Property Course, and some of the material did come up, but the overall experience throughout this class has had a unique viewpoint of some of the similar terms and stuff.
This course has so far do lead up to the final project and build upon the previous months’ content. While in the class I have taken the opportunity to go back and reflect on previously acquired knowledge and see how this ties into the overall personal objective. Personally, I see the content, and the reading material is touchpoints that will support my end goal before or by the end of the Master's degree. The truth is that I may or may not open my small company, every course and content gathered is a building block for my knowledge or my soon to be corporate knowledgebase. Either way, you look at the trajectory of my class time at Full Sail University, copyright, trademark, and all the legal elements that have been in discussion give me plenty to go off of to be either my boss and continue my education as a boss or work for someone else with a substantial toolbox.
During this time, looking at the cases and researching the way they have impacted how we see the scenarios represent the point in time the case(s) come about was critical in looking at how they affect the way we do things now. Some of the cases gave clarity to the why and how of how we've got to protect our IP (Intellectual Property). Access to a lawyer that is currently practicing makes is clear that continuing education is also an essential part of how we should continue to research and review the cases that make up the space we decide to work in long after graduation. Laws update and are working on covering the implementation of new tech and new ways in which we push content out to the world. Ultimately, 'knowledge gained is knowledge earned,' and this is another tool in my toolbox.

PAM (Product and Artist Management) Journal Entry
As with every course before, I enter the class with no expectations. I do this to work at absorbing the information as best and objectively as possible. In this class, there have been things that I have been familiar with based on my previous experiences. With that said, the way in which the material was presented there were many instances in which I had to realign my thought process to account for the focus on the content. From working on the ‘Major Players Review’ comparing the major companies to smaller hyper-focused ones to see the pros and cons respectively, to the final ‘Sales Presentation’ where we place ourselves in the mix. I worked on the focus of the project by supplementing the main source of income with products. Learning the whole process behind making them a source of profit that is real and in some instances the way we can fund the company as the main source to the keep on doing what we intended to do in the first place.
From day one we were introduced to the term ‘Show Business’ as it truly being ‘The Business of the Show.' Looking at it as the focus of an industry in which we understand that without good business the show cannot go on. Supplementing and supporting the show aspect of show business with good business practices and profit focused efforts is the backend part that some consider what allows the show to go on truly. We are in the business of ultimately making money. Be it by talent or the sale of elements that can be monetized to support that Talents career path. While working on my ‘Artist Manager Case Study,' I selected Jon Landau, which by the way it the name of two very successful and entirely different people in the entertainment world. They each had keys to success that were grounded in the material discussed in class. Ultimately, I worked on Jon Landau the driving force behind music giants such as Bruce Springsteen and much more that are considered legendary success stories in themselves.
Continuing there were course works that refocused on how to use the knowledge we have acquired so far can be used to work on our target audience/audience acquisition honestly. Using geolocation, specific demographics, spending behaviors, and psychographics, narrowing down our audiences we ultimately want to cater to. Going forward this lead us into the work we did on ‘Product Planning’ and how this course of action and the details worked on will be necessary to come up with the best possible strategy to plan for and develop product plans that will be effective. This is where we see how our focus can shift based on many different aspects of profitability and customer interactions. There are so many ways to work on the development and monetization of an artist or a product's lifecycle, you have to look at how this affects the bottom line continuously. Audiences and Customers are looking for more than just products; they are looking for experiences and the overall effect you have on their lifestyle. The more integrated and complementary you are the better your product or artist will fare.
In summary, this course worked on shifting the focus from looking at what we think is our way to make money to the actual way you fund those efforts to earn money. Your idea may be excellent to you but effectively be a dog of a product while in your mind you think it’s a cash cow. If you focus on the business aspect of the show, you will see the support structure you should be attending to while following your efforts to make the front-end goal as successful as possible.

My ‘Negotiations and Deal-Making’NDM Journal Entry
As with all previous courses, I enter with no real expectations. While in the ‘Negotiations and Deal-Making’ course I absorbed many points through the material presented in class as well as the required reading. As the class interactions involved the act of negotiation, mediation, and presentation of real life scenarios it was apparent that this is a valuable subject matter. The application of ‘Negotiations and Deal-Making’ learnings is both useful in personal and professional situations. I gathered a lot of critical points that I can leverage to my benefit as well and be acknowledging my personality traits and how the impact my negotiation tactics.
I initially did not agree with most of the material in the way it was presented. I then took the time to see how the personality of the professor impacted her presentation style and point of view. I acknowledge that I am not a dealmaker who has the same toolkit as the rest of the class and based on my personality trait (Commander/Director) I am clear on the point that my style and flow for negotiations is dry and to the point. The black and white of it is that I try to place myself in positions where I have as much control as possible in the negotiation process. While in the class I continually stated that the methods of negotiation and deal-making were ‘situational’ and to this say I mean what I say.
All circumstances being equal, no two parties are identical in their approach to a negotiation, and this will ensure that even if we yield the same result, the journey to the result will vary by many degrees. Understanding the terms and vocabulary most commonly used in the process opened me to a better understanding of the process taught in class. The toolkit I am amassing will have great ‘Negotiations and Deal-Making’ tools for me to pull from going forward!

My DMK Mastery Journal Entry
I never go into a course with a preconceived notion of what to expect. Every instructor is different and their approach to the material is unique. In Full Sail there are a lot of knowledgeable and industry tested talents and their point of view at times differs from the course material. This gives the class experience a genuine quality. If there is anything I have grown to keep in mind is that what I should know and what I need to know are based on the area of expertise of the instructor. Focal points on the material are different every time I enter a classroom. The reality is that most of the courses have been in some way shape or form part of my undergraduate studies, either I get a refresher or I get an extended viewpoint of what I have already been taught.
Some of the takeaways from the Lynda.com tutorial ‘Small Business Marketing Fundamentals’:
1. Marketing is not a standalone process and it is a keystone to acquiring and retaining customers. It is closely intertwined with branding and selling.
2. Being selective and quick to learn, are key points to remember throughout the process.
3. ‘Exchanging what you sell for a set price is the weakest way to manage my marketing’. –Brad Batesole
4. Choose the best possible marketing avenue for your type of business and client base.
5. Other key courses I can take to support the material of the ‘Small Business Marketing Fundamentals’ course such as ‘Online Marketing Fundamentals’, ‘Google AdWords Essentials Training’, ‘Facebook Advertising Fundamentals’, ‘Direct Mail Strategy’, ‘Public Relations Fundamentals’ and ’Social Media Marketing with Facebook and Twitter’ to name a few.
The Personal and Professional takeaways and implementations are…
1. Personally, the material covered in the Lynda.com course is of huge value. I am working to apply every portion of this course (like courses before this one) into my final project as well as my own endeavors.
2. Professionally, applying these key points will allow me to update and toolkit and be of larger value to the company that grants me the opportunity to work inside their institution.
In closing this course has all the elements necessary to start your initial efforts in marketing. It has additional points of value and important maintenance workflows that are referred to when initiating, maintaining and optimizing your digital marketing efforts.

Entertainment Business Finance
Often considered the least popular of all subject matters, EBF was not what I was lead to expect. I don’t go into any learning environment with expectations; this allows me to judge the course material and the overall experience after the fact. If I were a Business and Finance professional, then I would gather a list of expectations and go from there. While the class did have a required reading for an ebook that was less than exciting, it did what its intended purpose was; it gave me access to subject matter that I would otherwise not put together myself.
The instructor was clear and to the point with his delivery of the course material and was glad to entertain questions at any given point in time. The material covered in class allowed us to go on tangents that furthered the understanding of the course material. I was able to learn and expand my knowledge in finance as well as gain insight into invaluable options for my financial future. The assignments were listed in a continuous way and fed into the upcoming material in a fascinating way. Professor Woodward was able to keep touching upon previous material covered in a meaningful and poignant way.
From understanding the terminology to showing practical applications for them in conversation to connecting professional and personal uses for the newly acquired knowledge the course made finance as clear and straightforward as possible in the limited amount of time we have as students in this degree. As a consequence of this, I am left with the option to either further my knowledge on the subject on my own time or use all the pearls of wisdom provided here into the best of my ability feeling deceptively confident. The knowledge that this course and its instructor imparted on me is valuable beyond measure. It has provided me a solidly grounded understanding of what I may need as a base for a sound financial starting point.

Business Storytelling & Brand Development Mastery
The Business Storytelling & Brand Development Mastery course was a look into the world of branding and how storytelling is a major contributor to the delivery of your message. When I first entered this course, my expectations were nil. I have come into the EBMS degree program since it bears similarity to the MCBS course that I took in my undergrad. This course is an extension of the courses I have taken, and by this, I can see a constant that is shared throughout. The value of a compelling and transparent story is a key initiative that will give potential clients the chance to connect with your product(s). Branding as a vehicle to show a side of your company that partners with the clients they want are a way to keep those that you have gained. Marketing is the vehicle to gain the clients you want to share your brand. The mutual need for these to have a clear and concise messaging is what we learned and/or cemented based on previously gained knowledge. Looking to obtain a unique positioning and naming is key to protecting your brand. Trademark(s) make this process stronger when you are seeking to distinguish yourself from your competitors. The value of your name and positioning is key to gaining a firm footing in the marketplace. Looking at how you want to name your company and how you want it to be seen is important, just as important as the values you stand for and how you will represent yourself in the market you desire to be a part of. Looking at what works and what does not is part of developing the strongest brand strategy possible. Making sure that all the working parts of your branding and marketing plan are cohesive and well integrated makes this as important as the quality of the work or product you will provide. In closing for this blog entry, the importance of presenting yourself and your company in the most concise way will show how you value the potential clients you want to engage.

The PTM Journal Entry
During the time spent in the project and team management, I have absorbed a lot of the material in the most comprehensive way possible. Researching the components of industry to further connect the material to the objectives has allowed me to see how the application of PTM has a place in all working environments. I have considered the use of many of the personal branding options that were assigned to us. I have chosen to further explore my professional bio, endorsement letters, revamping my resume, creating an infographic to demonstrate my key points of interest as well as strengths, a social media strategy to develop a better presence and updating my online portfolio.
I have had the chance to once again work on a budget for a class assignment which allowed me to revisit an undergrad class called project management in which I launched a company as part of a portfolio project and researched the necessary areas of concern when launching a company or project from the ground up by myself. While the requirement to use celebrities as part of my team, it is for the purpose of relating to and designating the right person for the job based on the skills being developed during this class.
While there was an opportunity to do assessments of my own personality and that of those whom would be part of this month’s project, we used the DISC assessment and the Myers-Briggs assessment. These tools proved to facilitate the value of identifying the best way to bring people together.
In closing, there is a lesson in how to use team building activities to assess the communications style of those that are part of your team. While looking at the goal of a project of business you should evaluate the best way to employ personnel based on their strengths and potential. A look into the emotional intelligence of a person will allow you to see how they will perform to the best of their ability. Knowing the traits of an individual and how they mesh with others will allow you to create the best possible environment for productivity.

Industry Research
In this discussion, I take on four topics in detail:
For the EBMS course I'm taking, I am using EBSCO Host to work on looking at topics that I have an interest in. The topics are all based on different but interconnected opportunities that can shape the path I would like to take going forward. I am an avid lover of graphic editing and digital media content creation. I am also interested in education and like to see how I can work on improving and disseminating ideas that can help make things in our future better.
Topic 1: Adobe Cloud Apps and the impact on Graphic Design
Cloud services are slowly and surely the norm for computing power and accessibility, Adobe takes advantage of this with its design. With the forward vision of mobility and how computing is all at the tips of our fingers, Adobe is pushing for mobile apps. The ability to place desktop power in the mobile units that are the largest growing area of technology. Mobile devices are the way to take your powerhouse equipment with you and create and edit on the fly. Adobe has updated their cloud services to the point where the applications are not only mobile-centric but mobile native (Recent Adobe News,2014). To name a few of the apps that are most commonly used, Adobe Sketch, Adobe Line, Lightroom for iPhone and much more (Recent Adobe News,2014). Mobility is the way to go with the opportunity for graphic designers having the chance to show their skill off at any point in time and have access to their files on the fly.
With the focus now on interfaces that are focused on the ‘touch, ’ the mobile apps are now able to make the ‘pro-level’ interface actions available without the need for additional interfaces such as ‘Wacom surfaces’ (Rossello, 2011). Adding on the tactile functionality of the software to a device that allows for mobility without compromising on the power of editing is a big thing. The constant change of the software and environments makes this a platform that is always under constant change, and it makes this the area of the industry that gives its users the most flexibility. Bring it all together there is a simple scheme that seems to rule the way that we see Adobe penetrating the global mobile market; Apps that offer the robustness of a desktop application in the palm of anyone’s hand allows them to design and create anywhere.
What did you learn from the source? The graphic design area of technology has made massive changes to the way that we see many of the things that are offered on our social media platforms as well as how aesthetics is guiding many of the ways we see and perceive all the things presented to us every day.
How can you use this information when working in the industry? In the industry, there is always a tie-in with aesthetics and how using design software apps on the fly will allow you to be relevant. The change and constant updates that are available in the workplace are now guided by the mobility and app robustness of technology.
If you already have a project idea in mind, how will this information help you? If I were to have something already in mind, I know that there is a need to present things with updated relevant visuals that are updated on the fly. It is necessary to be able to make changes and adjustments on the go as you work on your projects. Basically, there is a need now to have an app for almost everything.

Topic 2: Digital Education of the Entertainment Industry
The online approach to education has years of backing that offer it a good review, but what is the real impact of online education? The reality is that there is no real way to show a scale of an effect other than that of reach. The ability for online education of e-learning has allowed many to gain knowledge on the go, on a global scale (Erdemir, Çavdar, Bağcı, Çorbacı, 2016). The reality is that with the growth of media and new technologies it is convenient to learn on the go as you use the technology. Applications that use gamification to bring education into the hands of those that veer from the traditional educational systems provide a new way of placing classroom material in a device that can be taken virtually anywhere. A way in which the entertainment industry has made use of this is by making it a requirement for some to update their skills as frequently as possible. The way that many skills are upgraded works best for persons in the field by making the most current software release notes available as quickly as possible.
The best way to do that is with online education, some will refer to the term ‘MOOC’ (massive open online course), and others will apply to schools and certification platforms that offer coursework on smaller focused scales. With the growth of this area of learning the closest comparable community is that of health care (Nemec II, Pawola, Shah, 2016). Bringing to the forefront the reality that accessibility is the key to how many of today’s population are choosing online education as the way to go. The entertainment industry can touch on the successes of other industries to perpetuate their own growth patterns. Technology that is in use can and does provide insight in the usability in more than one arena.
What did you learn from the source? The online education is the most non-evasive way to bring new technological advances and material to a broader audience. The fact that there is no need to target anyone but just simply place the training material in a forum that is easily searchable.
How can you use this information when working in the industry? In the industry, there is a need to be on the cutting edge of technology, and the pathway to this is quick and accessible education via digital devices that can provide access virtually anywhere.
If you already have a project idea in mind, how will this information help you? If I were to have something already in mind, I know that there is a need now to have the most relevant app updates will provide a better understanding of how the new technologies can be optimized for use.

Topic 3: Project Management and New Tech Meetups
With the option of meeting up online and sharing resources as well as connecting with others to share ideas and content, there is an essential use that tech brings to large scope projects. When students can come together with outside sources to combine efforts and work on shared projects the goal is to bring minds together (Schilling, Klamma, 2010). Some of the things that are reviewed in meetups are the constant change of tech and how updates went from monthly to weekly and now in some cases daily. The focus of project managers is to have the most flexible stage to prepare and support all the task that they take on. From working with local and out of area input is the way that most companies are excelling in the workplace.
When you look at how so many schools integrate classes that are both on campus and online with many of the platforms geared towards information share; ‘Learning is a matter of participating in practices and actions of a community and in the end becoming a legitimate practitioner (Paavola, Lipponen, Hakkarainen, 2004).’ Not only is this a requirement for places such as Full Sail University, with its accelerated programs, but many other schools have adopted this way of educating and sharing information as a standard scholastic endeavor. With this, there is a clear understanding that part of the curriculum can be considered the basics of project managers to do list for whatever they take on.
What did you learn from the source? I have learned that there is a clear need for online forums and platforms to share information and educations regularly. There will always be a need for a ‘software/firmware update for computers and users alike. New innovations come at a moment’s notice, and we need to access it as soon as possible to remain viable and competitive in the entertainment industry.
How can you use this information when working in the industry? Understanding that there will always be a better, newer way of doing things is part of trying to reach the goal of proficiency and efficiency. We need to have our devices tuned to the latest and greatest, or our usefulness will be short and outdated.
If you already have a project idea in mind, how will this information help you? If I were to have something already in mind, I know that there is a need now to have the most relevant and up-to-date information and communications tech available or the projects that are out there to be handled will be taken on by those that are on or ahead of the tech curve for project management.

Topic 4: Digital Advertising and Social Media
With all the things make up digital advertising, there is always need to see how the advertising will fit the platform and be as non-obtrusive as possible. ‘This trend, called native advertising, has taken over the Internet; even the Web sites of journalistic bastions such as the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal are incorporating it (Pogue, 2015).’ The use of new tech and social media platforms to leverage its users to support the native advertising is what is the new normal. Advertising is being transformed into what can be considered a ‘hot or not’ type of ‘swipe left or swipe right’ type of media platform. This makes it so that there is an air of what can be considered psychological warfare against the transparency. The education of new users can offer a significant opportunity to have more than just digital consumers but digital conveyers of media and content.
As per Doug Weaver ‘Over these two decades, the Web has become something everyone does—not something they watch or read. Don't Call It Advertising Anymore (Weaver, 2015).’ To the extent that digital advertising and aesthetics are all combined into one big ball of research and psychology, everything we see is to some degree an advertisement that is constructed for our consumption. We have all been witness to a variety of delivery systems that are all digital and mobile-centric by nature.
What did you learn from the source? There is a method to the madness, and the reality is that we need to combine digital creation apps, digital education platforms and an ever-updating device that will feed us the next big thing. Every digital innovation in some way shape or form will be leverageable and or monetize-able in this new century.
How can you use this information when working in the industry? Knowing what is the basis for much of the digital world and how new generations have ebb and flow type of attention span for new apps and technologies will make it so that we need to learn faster and more creative ways to use tech going forward.
If you already have a project idea in mind, how will this information help you? If I were to have something already in mind, I know that there is a need now to have the most relevant and definite understanding of advertising and monetizing to be competitive.

Leadership Mastery Journal Post
Angel Belleza’s Leadership style
Within this review I am going to compare and contrast my previous leadership experiences and project what my future leadership style(s) may be. This comparison will be based on the course materials to include John C. Maxwell’s book ‘Developing the Leader within you’ and Robert Greene’s book ‘The 48 Laws of Power’.
Chronologically with my work experience in a position of authority, I can compare my leadership style to a Greene way of performing. In my time spent in the Military moving up the chain of command. I can now say that I have applied the Greene laws such as ‘Law #1 Never Outshine the Master (Greene, 2000)’ while working to move up the chain. The qualifications that are necessary to move up are signed off by those that are presently in the position and/or their supervisors. Not to be confused with moving up in rank, the positional authority can and does play a part in moving up. I can also say that I have used ‘Law #35 Master the Art of Timing (Greene, 2000)’, there is a pecking order and a minimum timeframe for everyone to be considered for advancement.
When looking for opportunities to fill in the areas of necessity making sure that moving up doesn’t create a void where you previously were, is paramount. The Chain of Command will open up opportunities if and when there is a need, and the underlying positions are not left unattended. The military lifestyle not unlike a well-oiled machine in which every person is a cog, the need to maintain 100% proficiency at all times. The rigidity used when determining how positions will be occupied and their task executed requires a rigid environment. Greene’s laws do have a place in a military environment. There is little room for sentiment and conditional change, and the executions of all things are done with as much precision as possible.
With some respects to the Maxwell and the way in which he mentions the approach to leadership I can relate to chapter 5.’The quickest way to gain Leadership, Problem Solving (Maxwell, 1993)’. The new chapter of my life can and will require me to use all the things I have learned while on my Mastery Journey. After gaining new perspectives on how the Greene and Maxwell leaderships styles can complement different situational circumstances, I have new knowledge that I can use depending on the job I go after. Using all of the knowledge gained throughout my time at Full Sail University will give me a broad toolbox that will make me the most effective leader I can be.
I am undecided in what area I will be working in as of yet but all leadership is situational as long as you can draw on the knowledge you have gained to apply it at the right time and place.
