I keep thinking about how work is coming along with My Name is Eli and I'm so so so so so excited to get to share more information with everyone in the future! I'm feeling super invigorated about this!

(For a little context, right now I've been working through the script and I've done a thumbnail draft of the general direction of the comic. I'm roughly about 3/4 of the way through the script draft. I intend to take a brief break when the script is complete to do some Telly video editing then I'll go full force on the comic work).

An Update on MyNameIsEli

Hey, it's been a while. How are you? :)

As I mentioned before, I put this comic on indefinite hiatus.

Is it coming back?

Yes.

Well, not right away! I'm drafting out things so it won't be a while until its ready, but I am working on this and frankly I'm really excited about it. I want to post this comic only when I'm fully satisfied with it, so no promises of a time frame yet!!!

It'll be quite different to how it was before, but I'm looking forward to sharing more information with you all in the future!

In the meantime, I've also begun working on another project! My partner and I have been making a batch of videos for a project called TellyVision, which is effectively us messing around and being silly funny goofy. It'll probably be highly experimental and mostly full of things we find interesting to do over a set type of content. It's another project I can't wait to share more about when we've got things in motion! Naturally it'll be a lot lighter than this comic!!

(As I'm writing this I'm literally realising just how many projects I'm doing right now. Good lord I like to be busy!)

While I'm working on both projects, I'm starting up a sideblog where I'll probably post occasional doodles, updates and mostly just ramble about nerdy things. (I need an outlet to talk about one piece please I need this) so I'd reccomend following me on there for more casual stuffs. It's more that I don't want to clog up this blog with things unrelated to the actual comic.

The love you've shown my work means the world to me, I can't thank you all enough. Its the support you've provided that's helped me to want to see it through to completion and make something that I can wholeheartedly say that I'm proud of. I'll do my best and I can't wait to share more info! 🥰

Hey Eli, thanks for the comics. I really will cherish them. If you are truly leaving, I just have a couple more questions, if you don't mind me asking.

1. How do you say your name is it like EE-Lie, or is it like eL-EE?

2. If you can't draw, who draws the comics?

Thanks for the ask! I tend to use Ee-lie when referring to Eli.

I draw the comics, but 'I can't draw' refers to the fact that I taught myself anime art for 10 years without learning any of the fundamentals! I can draw a silly cartoon guy or a pretty decent anime eye but ask me to draw hands and correct proportions and I'm deceased.

I think I still want to do something with this project rather than fully abandoning it, but I think it's considering format and stuff that I want to work on (and this is a side project to a main creative project I'm working on). I'm thinking weekly comics just aren't the right format for this sort of thing.

learning lately that a lot of confidence is about owning up. like "yeah i'm a little addicted to my phone right now" or "yeah i'm not really over this person yet" or "yeah i still get pretty anxious in crowds" just saying anything at all but then following it up w "but i'm trying to get better" and being super nonchalant and unaffected. so powerful. you would literally be undefeatable in the face of even the most judgmental person. no one can judge you for things you already know about yourself and are trying to improve on. the trick is to know yourself from the inside out, to hold yourself accountable, and to actively improve every day. like that is literally the secret to never feeling like you're at the mercy of somebody else's judgment

Mistakes.

I was struggling with interoception issues affecting my job and when I struggle with things I tend to look them up on social media to see if people have tips for dealing with them.

It was pretty wierd to see one of my comics pretty high up in the tag. Just like 'oh, hello. It me.'

Totally chill to tag me in things even if I might not RB (honestly could even give me ideas for comics, you never know) and I appreciate it :)

I used to have a massive plush toy/mini figurine collection and it took me years to finally get a semblance of a clean room because I'd personified my plush toys so much that I felt like I was hurting them in getting rid of them.

I think recently I re-embraced plush toys again on a smaller scale and my favourites have been a Blåhaj and a Djungelskog I got from IKEA. Seriously, they're just perfect.

But while I've collected less in terms of plush toys, my unread book collection keeps growing! 😅
