i think it humanizes him a lot and that goes for other disabled characters in anime and media in general. its important to both recognize them and how they’re affected

that’s not to say we make it their sole character trait or make ignorant and uneducated assumptions on what it’s like because that only harms and hinders disabled people

but we should portray them as accurately as we can and not gloss over these factors if we want to be inclusive to these communities
