Daily successes:
Today's been a "skip uni to focus on uni kind of day" 😅
🟣 I wrote a two-month plan of extracurriculars for a class;
🟣 Did two presentations;
🟣 Edited the report for presentation at a conference;
🟣 Attended an online seminar at my refresher course;
🟣 Made another attempt at understanding ancient philosophy (aka I spent time in a garden with a book that didn't have anything to do with my work or my studies and was purely for my enjoyment);
🟣 Got myself for a walk in a gorgeous forest, listened to the birds and smelled the fir trees. Balance!

Introduction 🪻
My name's Mary, and I'm a full-time master's student (in special education), an aba therapist, and I'm also constantly taking online courses related to my profession. All of that is to say that I've found myself with zero motivation to do anything, turning in extremely half-assed work (which pains me because I've always been a straight A student), catching sicknesses often, living in a mess, wasting my free time... You get the picture.
This blog will be a way to keep myself accountable in, hopefully, not only getting myself back to the level I once had (being a dutiful student, reading more then 100 pages daily, visiting galleries and theatres once per week, journaling regularly), but improving myself and becoming the woman I've always wanted to be ✨
Current goals:
Write my master's thesis! I have until middle May to finish writing the theoretical chapter (currently at 0 words) and until the beginning of June to develop an experimental methodology (...the same).
Put more effort into personal grooming. I like the way I dress (dreamy, flowery and flowy, vintage inspired), but I don't really do anything else other than put on a nice outfit with a good perfume (I'm a bit of a fragrance maniac). The areas of improvement here are: being more consistent with my skincare and taking better care of my hands (don't forget lotion because they're always dry and start doing my nails - nothing extravagant, plain at-home nude polishes).
Learn how to do my hair. My hair is wavy and thick, to my waist. Usually I keep it in a braid - it's very practical and convenient, and I like the look of a thick braid, and it fits my vintage/institute of noble girls look well, but I'd like to introduce some variety.
Pick back up my hobbies of reading and journaling.
Get back my almost-habit of spending time with God. Unfortunately, I'm a very mood- and motivation-based person; as soon as the mood passes, my habits break, even if I had a two-month streak.
Get more active on dating apps. I'd like to meet new people, but I just can't make myself actually text and call and meet up with them.
Improve my health: don't forget my vitamins, try to balance my nutrition. Maybe find time to incorporate some more physical activity (this one's going to be hard: 6 days out of 7 I leave the house at around 8 am, sometimes earlier, and come back at 9 pm, already spent).
Get better at budgeting! I don't have a set salary (I'm paid by hours worked, which vary week by week), and I'm paid weekly, which makes it hard to plan long-term, especially if you factor in unpaid days from when I'm on sick leave (so, at least a week or two per month). I try to put some money away each week towards savings, and pay upcoming bills (data, transportation) when I get a bigger paycheck, but it's not systematic.
