i really hate when people tell me my ocd/germaphobia annoys them or when they tell me i should just stop being sooo ocd/germaphobic.
i know. i know. because i hate it more than you.
you want me to stop? i want to stop.
guess fucking what? i can’t. i just can’t. and it hurts me more than they’ll ever know, so just stop.
you hate it? i fucking hate it.
i hate that i have to disinfect everything. that i don’t want to touch someone who i know has done something that will cause them to have germs, like when someone just returned from the airport. that having something i really love become to germ-ridden to touch or go near brings me to tears. that my knuckles are bleeding because i washed my hands too much and used too much hand sanitizer.
it hurts a lot when your family knows, but laughs it off or scolds you for it.
“i took a shower, so give me a hug.”
“you’re ruining your hands.”
i am so glad they truly accept and respect my issues.
i am sorry that you hate that i do the things i do and feel the need to remind me that i hate myself for it, too.
