*im talking about fandom takes specifically. not someone being horribly evil about a real-life issue or or blatantly factually incorrect. literally just harmless fandom disagreements or differing interpretations of a text/character/etc.

Happy Disability Pride Month!

The Disability Zebra for the Pride Animal series is finally here! (The series where I take requests and design animals based on flags) I designed this all the way back in March, and thanks to everyone's feedback, I was able to narrow it down! (Special thanks to @yomcloud for a lot of helpful notes :-]c) This will never be perfect, but I've gotten a lot of love and joy from myself and disabled friends seeing this little guy :-]

You can get this guy on Redbubble! For local conventions, I'll be selling this as stickers with the gray outline!

Fun Fact! Zebras are also used as a symbol to represent rare diseases! This is based on the quote "When you hear the sound of hooves, think horses, not zebras." In regards to what doctors should consider when diagnosing a patient. This ends up with many disabled people not getting the right diagnosis, being ignored, or their conditions not being researched enough. All this because something is considered "rare", when in fact people with these disabilities are still large in number, diagnosed or not- a lot of disabled people even feel that their diagnoses may even be more common than we think. Because of this, the animal has been embraced by what doctors may call "medical zebras", now being used to represent many different disabilities considered "rare" such as Ehler's Danlos Syndrome, CACP Syndrome, and many more!

If you are disabled or know someone who is disabled, this pride animal is for you! If you are or know someone who is considered a "medical zebra", I hope this zebra brings you joy!

Today I introduced my sister to “the problem of Susan” and I had to explain to her that Susan was left out of Narnia cuz she liked boys and lipstick now and without missing a beat she said but what about Peter? Does Peter not like girls? And I knew she was pointing out the inherent misogyny at the center of the “the problem of Susan” but the implications of that question are a source of much hilarity to meeee LMFAO like Does Peter not like girls? Does he like boys? Is he Gay? Is Narnia really just a homo-utopia where Lucy is also a lesbian and Edmund is a bisexual disaster and Susan was kicked out cuz she was too straight??? Can I make CS Lewis turn over in his grave with this new reading?

Support the BBC for having a trans character in recent episodes of 'Doctor Who'

Apparently the BBC (UK) has had 144 complaints about a recent episode of Doctor Who because it contained an openly trans character.

I've made a complaint to the BBC that there weren't enough transgender characters in Doctor Who. I would love if 144 other people did the same thing. Here's the link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/contact/complaints/make-a-complaint/#/Complaint

(For your easy reference: "The Star Beast" aired on 25/11/2023 on BBC One, and the trans character is called Rose.)

Avoid sarcasm or irony. Assume your post will be taken literally. If you are clearly joking or being mean you will be ignored or misunderstood.

Include some gratitude/appreciation. It's pretty great that they included a trans woman in a positive way, and they should know that they have explicit support for that.

Hyrule Hulligans Harrass Dilf Dining Establishment

I'm playing around with figuring out tweaks to my cartoony art style for a project I'm working on and decided to test it out more by trying it on these four doofuses. I have to say, I'm really proud of how it came out. Look at how it came out! Look at the shape of Yunobo's doofy head!

That said, I need to actually go back and beat Tears of the Kingdom some time. Sadly I've heard that the Ganondorf Diner shenanigans have been patched out? Not that I'd end up doing that anyway but damn was that funny!

Happy Friday the 13th!! Imagine having a Friday the 13th in October of all months, isn't that grand? To celebrate, I am going to offer a challenge. My partner found a bunch of old printable business cards and a friend of mine who plays MTG with a goblin deck has been asking me for some goblin tokens. Thus I decided to give #gobtober a go, and the first night got 2 done. We'll see how far I go. I think the farthest I've gone is like... 7 days? into these challenges? Before I give up/get stuck. My plan is if I can't think of what to do for one, to just skip and do the next one I CAN do. Maybe that way I'll get farther.

Besides, if I can make a whole bunch I can sell them as a set of character class tokens/cards. Because the hustle never stops and I have to find a way to monetize everything I do.

Another month, another compilation of colored pages. I'm definitely getting into the swing of this, and I fear my book collection will soon become so vast I will not be able to color a page in each book each month, as I have been mostly doing so far...

I am trying to get back into a creative/productive mind space. Too many days go by where I do nothing but stare at my screen, feeling too tired to even play Genshin or any other game for that matter.

So that's how I got that video out, and today I set myself a 1 hour timer and took out my sketchbook. I wouldn't allow myself anything BUT art. No pressure, just... sketch whatever, it didn't have to be perfect.

I got a chibi sketch out, and that only took 20 min, so I turned back to this piece. I'd done Nahida back in April in one sitting, then was paralyzed with how to draw the second half, because what if it doesn't match? What if it's not good? Eventually I got a sketch out, and it wasn't perfect but it was done. Then on another day I inked it. Then I was scared of my markers (this was done with water markers not alcohol).

So today, after the sketching had me pumped up to keep going... I grabbed my markers and began coloring. And in the end I did art for over 2 hours so I could finish this, and it's not perfect.

But it's done. And I'm proud of it. I just have to not... stare at it too closely to see all the errors and mistakes. Because those don't matter. What matters is that when you look at it, it looks great. And it's done.

And I can share it with the void.
