olive & josh
“Look, if you’re here to try and convince me into joining the party then let me save you some time. I’m perfectly fine watching from a distance.”Josh had been dragged out onto the beach by a staff member but had refused to make his way anywhere near other party goers, resorting to perching himself on a low branch, his wings resting behind him with the tips barely grazing the grass below. Taking a swig from his beer he looked over at the person below him.
“you’re right, that’s exactly what i was planning on doing.” olive admitted, a small smile on her lips as she watched josh for a moment. “come on man, live a little - it won’t kill you.” a small laugh escaped the blondes lips. “if you’re not going to come to the part are you at least going to let me join you up their?” she suggested, a brow arched. “i promise i won’t bite - not until you ask, and if i do i promise to be gentle.” she nodded seriously - though there was a child like softness if her eyes.

louisa & leo
powers. right. that was the thing he’d have to talk about if he went to go see her. the thing that leo has really been avoiding using since his time being here. “uh… leo… just leo.” he said furrowing his brows as he looked over at her when she mentioned her own powers. duplication? that sounds pretty rad, but that wasn’t the point here. he had to speak of his own now that she shared hers or else it would be a one way road. “mirror imprisonment is my power. y’know people always wondered why i carry a pocket mirror around with me. that’s why.” he said simply with a shrug as he shoved his hands in his pocket before awkwardly sitting down in the chair across from her. betancourts didn’t get help, why in the hell was he here? you could see his nails clawing onto the end of the armrest of the chair. “why are you here? i mean other than the fact you’re getting paid to be here….” he said letting his thoughts trail off and his gaze rested to something above her shoulder so he wasn’t directly looking at her. leo really shouldn’t listen to the first question that comes to his mind sometimes. it could be considered rude, but leo never listened to those rules anyways.
“well just leo.” the blonde smiled gently at the other. “mirror imprionment, it sounds interesting.” she paused, pressing her pen to her lips as she thought for a moment. “i’m not particularly familiar with the power - but i assume it’s safe to guess that you can trap people in mirrors?” she questioned, a brow arched. “why am i in brighton? or why am i a counsellor?” louisa assume it was the first option - a sigh escaping her lips at the memory. “brighton was been my home since i was fourteen - i just never thought of leaving.” she admitted, biting down on the inside of her cheek. “my parents passed away when i was twelve, they where driving home and a truck swerved onto the wrong side of the road and killed them.” she tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ears as she thought about the memory - the heart ache that tragedy caused her. “what about you? what’s your family like?”

louisa & chelsea
Chelsea did not want to visit the councilor, it meant emotions, feels, and well, just things she wasn’t good at. But her powers relied on her emotions and well, it wasn’t a secret that she had absolutely no control over them. Her most recent trick? Sucking the water out of an old nearby tree while stressed about her course load. “Oh, I might be early, sorry. I’d just rather get this over with.” she admitted honestly. “This just isn’t something I look forward to.”
louisa listened the blonde for a moment before speaking. “oh, not happy to see me?” the counsellor joked - but brushed the comment off. louisa understood why she wasn’t everyone’s favourite person at brighton - but she didn’t let it get to her. “don’t worry, i get it.” she smiled at the other. “how have you been chelsea?” louisa questioned, reaching for the others file before continuing. “how are you handling everything?”

jeremiah & kallista
“When was the last time you used one of these equations in real life?” Kallista challenged with a raise of her brows as she held up her messily scribbled notes, sighing in exasperation. Though, like a good student, she let him finish his statement. Kali shrugged and bit down on her lower lip. Perhaps she was being irrational but math was truly the bane of her existence. In hindsight, she wasn’t sure why she was even asking a history teacher for help. Jeremiah just seemed…. helpful, she supposed. “Wouldn’t it be more gentlemanly to buy me coffee?” She retorted teasingly with a smirk. “Wow, I guess chivalry is dead.”
jeremiah paused, looking over the brunettes shoulder at the pages of notes. “it’s pythagoras theorem yes?” he questioned, a brow arched. “it’s most commonly used to determine the slope - so to answer your question, it was used to figure out the length of the slope when i was fixing my gardens.” the history teacher argued. “sure - but you’re my student and i’m you’re teacher, i’m not sure if you’re aware but this school has quite strict restrictions, and i don’t want to send the wrong message.” he shrugged at the thought. “i save chivalry for my sister, and close friends.”

jeremiah & gemma
gemma smirked as he spoke. out of both of her siblings, jeremiah was definitely more likely to take her side than silas. but at the same time, she didn’t think he’d side with her on a topic like this. she couldn’t help but grin when the professor she’d been arguing with grumbled a sound of consideration and left.
as soon as he was out of earshot, gemma spun on her heel. “this isn’t a prison? freedom to be creative?” she snorted. “well played, jer.” her brothers had two different styles of arguing. silas was more the type to do whatever it took to win, even if it meant playing dirty. jeremiah was more about destroying them with the facts. gem could say she was a combination of the two.
jeremiah smiled down at his baby sister, moving to pull her into a side hug. “well it’s true - we’re not all mindless zombies.” he shrugged. “you guys should be allowed some individuality - right?” a small laugh escaped jeremiah’s lips at the thought. “just don’t break the rule too hard gem” she smiled widely at the other. “as long as you’ve got some type of shirt on, i’m happy to support you in destroying the school dress code.” he joked, moving to ruffle her hair lightly. “what are you up too anyways? skipping class no doubt.”

olive & jennifer
Jennifer sighed, she wished being a child at heart didn’t come with so much judgement. “Actually it’s a classic Sanrio character who was immensely popular in my childhood, thank you,” she clarified. “First of all, I work in daycare, I’m not a teacher. And since when does your job make you have to like certain things and not others? I have a wide range of interests.”
olive arched a brow at the woman before rolling her eyes. “right, doesn’t make it any less weird.” she admitted, shrugging her shoulders at the thought. “teachers and educators are the same thing - classifying one as more important than the other is really disrespectful actually.” the blonde argued. “your wide range of interest make you seem childish and immature - full offence.”

olive & eden
“Yeah, well, love’s not reliable - is it?” Eden can’t help the venom that leaks into their words, purposely pointed and designed to cut. They hadn’t doubted what they felt for Olive, not for one moment. Eden knew how Olive’s power worked – how she was capable of manipulating the people around how, of making them love her, and though they’d proceeded with caution, the idea that they might have been manipulated into loving Olive had never crossed their mind. Besides… did it really matter? What they felt seemed real enough, Eden was sure there had to be at least some genuine emotion there – Olive, of course, had felt differently.
They laugh at the comment about the face masks, it’s small, but it’s genuine, and their face lights up for a moment, before sobering again. “I don’t hate you.” They admit quietly, they couldn’t hate her – no matter how hard they tried. Eden was no good with emotions, they figured trying to hate Olive for what had happened would be easier than trying to process the loss. It wasn’t. “That’s kind of the problem, I –” Eden pauses, suddenly realising they’re still standing in the hallway. They grab Olive’s arm and pull her into the nearest empty classroom, clearing their throat before talking again. “I can’t do this. Toe the line between friends and… what we were. It’s not fair. You know how I feel about you, Olive.”
she felt a sharp pain in her heart at the others words, unsure what she was supposed to say or do - she’d only ever felt that kind of heartbreak once in her life - when her parents told her they were getting divorced. maybe olive had been wrong judging the others emotions so harshly - but then again if eden was capable of saying something so terrible to olive now - maybe the blonde had been correct, that eden may have been feeding off olives own needs and desires when they’d told olive they loved her. “eden.” the blonde frowned slightly at the words. “you know i was scared - i don’t understand my powers, i’m allowed to be terrified, and to make decisions if it’s going to protect you from me.” tears started forming in the back of the blondes eyes - it felt like they were reliving their break up - something olive didn’t want to happen in the first place, but it was necessary at the time.
when they started pulling her into an empty classroom olive’s face dropped - feeling pulled back into old routines, old mischievous adventures they’d shared as they made their way through various classrooms - lips locked. it was hot and heavy at the time and a little dangerous. though the pair had never been caught - thankfully. olive blushed slightly as she tried to recollect her thoughts - trying to not think about the way the others lips felt against her own, the way their hands had left goosebumps against the blondes legs. “eden.” she blinked, trying to shake the thoughts out of her head - the wants, the needs she was suddenly feeling. “i can’t do this.” olive took a step back, ripping her hand from their grasp. “it hurts too much - and i thought i could, i thought i could be there for you because its what you deserved.” a sigh escaped her lips as she ran a hand over her face. “you say you love me - that you’ll never leave me.” a sob almost escaped her lips. “but everyone always leaves, one way or another - people get bored, they replace things that they are supposed to love with something new and better.” she wrapped an arm around her waist as her gaze dropped to the floor. “i want to believe that what you feel is real eden - but i don’t know if i can trust it.” she admitted, as tears began streaming down her face.

louisa & leonel
“uh, we don’t.” leo said sitting down in the chair fairly unsure why he was even here. brows furrowed as he looked over at the woman in front of him. “uh can you counselor me, y’know do you job. i don’t really know what i’m doing here and a friend told me maybe i should see you.” he was talking rather quickly. “realmente no quiero estar aquí…..” leo muttered underneath his breath. leo came from a traditional family where they didn’t ask this sort of thing so it was awkward for leo to even be sitting in this chair. it felt too fancy for him to be there. he was street rat after all. “i uh, don’t know why i’m here. i can leave if you have someone else coming.”
louisa paused as she looked over at the other. “so why are you in my office then?” she arched a brow at the other, slightly confused by his presence. “right - my job.” she smiled, closing the book in front of her a gentle sigh escaped her lips. “so what seems to be your issue for starters?” she reached for her a new notebook, opening she paused. “what’s your name? and power?” she asked, a small smile on her lips as her pen hovered over the paper. “you’re fine, you’re here now so we may as well make use of time - i’m here to help, it’s a safe space so i want you to feel comfortable? how about you ask me something?” louisa suggested. “my names louisa, and my powers include duplication.” she answered truthfully.

olive & eden
I still want to be friends. The words shouldn’t hurt so much – because isn’t that what Eden wants, too? There had been a time where Eden would have considered Olive their best friend – their closest confidant, the person they shared just about everything with… and they’d loved her for it. The placation felt hollow, because they’d been so much more than that – so much more than friends, that the idea of starting over and pretending they were just good pals seemed laughable. Maybe Olive wanted to be friends, but Eden had shared more of themselves with her than anybody else, only to have their feelings ( or, what they believed to be their feelings ) rebuffed. It had stung, and though they knew it had hurt Olive too, they couldn’t help but resent how things had ended.
But then their eyes drift down to the hand on their arm and damn it, they’d missed her. More than that, they’d missed just having someone who knew what they were going through, who didn’t brush off their pain or underestimate it. And they, too, understood Olive’s struggles with her own power… understood why Olive had done what she’d done, but that didn’t mean they could forgive it. They stifle the scoff that threatens to leave their lips, instead raising a brow, “Really? You want to skip class?” It was unexpected that even now Olive was looking out for them like that, but it tugged at something in Eden’s chest. “It is. Working, I mean. And you know I don’t know the first thing about skincare, so.”
olive felt sick to her stomach, she missed having the other in her arms - she missed being able to share her insecurities and anxieties with the other. she bit back a sob as she watched the other. “i’m sorry for hurting you eden.” the blonde admitted. “i loved you, you know that right?” she paused, searching the others eyes for a moment - it pained her, and that might of been when she’d been avoiding eden - seeing the pain in the others eyes was soul shattering. a sigh escaped olives lips, retracting her hand she wrapped it around her waist - feeling sorry for herself and overall feeling sorry for the pain she caused.
“i’d skip class if it helped you.” the blonde admitted, biting down on her bottom lip. “you know i’d do that for you.” olive sighed sadly. “you’re clearly hurting - and we don’t have to talk about who or what’s hurting you.” she paused. “but i know you, and i know what you go through on a day to day basis - so let me help you.” she pleaded with the other “i know you probably hate me - and i don’t blame you, but at least those emotions are genuine - i can rely on them being true and not forced” she rubbed the bridge of her nose. “i guess thats why we worked so well together - forcing you to do face masks with me was one of my favourite past times.” a small laugh escaped olive’s lips.

jeremiah & gemma
gemma stood, arms crossed, trying her best not to lean against the wall. she already had an ever-growing list of offenses, one of which she was in the middle of being lectured about, and she was well aware of the fact that bad attitude was about to be added to it.
“yes, i do understand that there’s a rule about dress code for classes. contrary to popular belief, i do in fact know how to read. however, i happen to think this rule is stupid given the fact that we basically live here and more than half of the people in this school have seen me in less clothes than this on any given day off. so basically, what i’m saying is: until the rule is amended, i will continue to break it.”
jeremiah paused as he listened to his sister, rolling his eyes as she suggested they amend the rule. “you’ve always got to add your point of view to everything don’t you gemma.” he grinned over at his little sister, a small laugh escaping his lips as she continued. he waited until she was finished to say anything. “i’m sorry sir, but i tend to agree with my sister - if we’re forcing people to stay here, they should have the freedom to dress how they like, this isn’t prison.” he looked at his sister for a moment, giving her a quick nod. “at least let them have some freedom to be creative and make there life their own.”

louisa & eden
“Shit, maybe I’ve got the wrong time –” Eden mutters, rolling up their sleeve and checking the scrawl written all over their arm. Sure enough, there it is, written in black ink – COUNSELLOR 12:45 – nope, they definitely had it right. Nothing ended up on Eden’s arm without them being sure of it ( otherwise their schedule simply became too messy ). They didn’t realise they were still staring at their arm until Louisa spoke again, and Eden jumped back into action, slumping down into the chair on the other side of the desk. “Same as usual, doc. These bloody ghosts.”
louisa paused as she watched the other for a moment, then she was checking her hand. “oh shit, my bad.” the blonde admitted sheepishly. “i must of lost track of time again.” she answered truthfully, inviting the other to sit. “their still causing you chaos?” louisa questioned, a brow arched slightly. “and what we’ve been working on isn’t helping?” she continued - a sigh escaping her lips. “how about we try some meditation? i know it might be hard to silence them but we haven’t tried it yet.” louisa paused for a moment. “do you think the ghosts might be channelling how you’re feeling? is something happening in your life you need to talk about?” she tapped her pen against the desk as she watched the other for a moment. “safe space remember.”

olive & eden
Things between Olive and Eden had ended… abruptly, to say the least. It was strange, seeing her now ( though they both attended the same school, Eden wasn’t quite sure how they expected to avoid Olive for very long ), it didn’t feel like all that long ago that Eden would be coming to Olive on days like this, seeking comfort from someone who seemed to understand what they were going through, at least in some small way. Olive had been good at making them feel comfortable, feel safe, and Eden found it best not to dwell on how much they wished they could simply throw themselves into Olive’s arms again and act as though things were fine, as they would have before.
But Eden wasn’t the one who had ended things. Eden had loved Olive, at the time, they’d been sure of it, but Olive hadn’t been. They understood Olive’s power, the way that she could make people love her, but Eden had been sure what they felt was genuine, tried to convince Olive of such… but she couldn’t be convinced, and that had been where things had fallen apart. It was hard to love someone who didn’t think they could really be loved. “No, it’s my bad, this –” They gesture wildly over their shoulder to the ghost behind them, cutting themselves off before spinning off into a tangent about it. Maybe they would have told Olive about it before, but not now. She didn’t need that burden anymore.
“I’m fine.” They say instead, drawing their lips into a tight smile. “Headache,” They say honestly, “I’ll take some aspirin, be right as rain soon.” They both knew that probably wouldn’t make much of a difference, but Eden could hope that Olive would just drop the subject altogether. “You… um, you look… you look good. Well, I mean. Like you’ve tried a new moisturiser or something. Got that healthy glow, or whatever people say.” They’re aware that they’re rambling but find themselves quite unable to stop, bouncing on the soles of their feet as they talk.
olive frowned slightly as she watched the other go to answer then back track. she’d hoped the pair could remain friends after their separation - eden had been olive’s best friend, and before she loved eden as a partner she had loved eden as a friend. a sigh escaped the blondes lips as she watched the other for a moment, the way the other had gestured over her shoulder - olive could assume what was happening, and she knew it was never an easy feat being followed. “eden..” olive began but cut herself off. “i still want to be friends.” the blonde admitted.
her hand moved to squeeze the others arm gently. “i’m still here if you need to talk, i’m not going to abandon you?” she tried to reassure them, though the frown on her lips stayed cemented. “how about we skip class? and we go lay in one of the paddocks? like old times?” olive suggested, she could see how much pain they were in - and though her heart hurt when she saw them, she still felt a duty to care for them. then eden was talking about her skincare routine - a small smile on her lips the blonde nodded. “yes, i ugh” she ran a hand over her face. “i’m trying a new night cream.” she admitted - she was surprised that the other had noticed honestly. “that coupled with a face oil - i think it’s working i’m not actually sure.”

jeremiah & kallista
“Sorry, dude. I didn’t catch, like, any of that,” Kallista let out a soft chuckle as she slipped her headphones down to rest around her neck. Studying wasn’t the girl’s strongest suit and that was probably brutally obvious by her lack of concentration. “Honestly, I’m so sick of math. Why do I even need math? I’m going to be a writer,” she rolled her eyes, resting her chin in her palm as narrowed her eyes at the other. “Don’t look at me like that! I can’t concentrate right now,” she threw her hands up dramatically. “Let’s go get coffee.”
jeremiah listened to the student complain - though he chose to not interrupt, he found it slightly amusing. “maths is important, because behind everything math is involved, even creating coffee takes calculations, measurements.” he smiled gently at the thought, a small laugh escaping his lips. “don’t knock it too hard, whilst i agree some equations and concepts are pointless - for the most part maths can be incredibly helpful.” the teacher admitted. “coffee sounds good though, your shout?” he joked lightly.

olive & eden
@mysterc
Eden’s day wasn’t shaping up to be a good one. They’d spent the better part of the morning with blankets draped over their head, trying to stifle a cracking headache that was brewing just behind their eyes ( to only marginal success ), but their efforts had been interrupted by their phone alarm indicating that they needed to be in class in less than half an hour. So, they managed to push themselves out of bed and trudge their way through the halls ( very pointedly ignoring the ghost of an old man screaming right behind her and doing nothing to help the pounding in their head ).
Suffice it to say, between the headache and the ghost following them through the halls, Eden was not paying attention to where they were going, rounding a corner and almost colliding headfirst with someone, eyes widening in recognition as they take in the person in front of them. “Olive –” They say with a start, words suddenly caught in their throat ( that would be a first ), memories of the last time they spoke spinning through their head. “Hi.” They say awkwardly.
olive was running late for her class on italian history when she was turning a corner sharply. she’d been looking over her timetable when she’d nearly ran into the other. dropping her books a quick “fuck” left her lips as she crouched to pick up her spilled belongings. it wasn’t until she heard her name leave their mouth she froze. “eden?” she went pale, feeling anxious around the other.
“fuck, i’m so sorry i should of been looking.” olive began, her gaze dropping to the floor. olive remembered their last interaction as if it was yesterday - and it still hurt the blonde to think about, she’d loved eden. but when eded had admitted to feeling something more real - more concrete for olive, the blonde had freaked out. her anxieties had gotten the best of her. “how have you been?” olive questioned, her eyes locking with the others for a moment. they looked good, really good - and olive was glad for that, they deserved to be happy considering everything. “hows your head?” her hand reached for the others face, to brush away the stray hairs from the others face. she was familiar with the torment her ex went through on the daily, and her heart yearned for the other - yearned, to be able to hold them close again and reassure them that they were safe. but olive was the one that had abandoned them, she thought her powers had forced the emotion on the other - she couldn’t trust that the emotion was genuine. a soft sigh escaped her lips. “hey..”

louisa looked up from her desk, a small smile on her lips as she noticed the other in the doorway. “oh, i’m sorry.” she began, closing her journal to give the other her full attention. “i didn’t realise we had an appointment today.” a small laugh left the woman’s lips at the admission. “so are you going to come in or stand there all day?” the woman arched a brow at the other before gesturing to the seat in front of her. “what can i help you with today?”

a smile slipped onto the blondes lips as she spotted the other, she leant back on her heels before leaning back forward. “oh my god, you took that long.” she teased, the smile on her lips growing. “where going to be late!!” she grabbed the others hand and pulled them along. “we organised lunch, remember?” she questioned, her head turning over her shoulder to look at the other for a moment. “we’ve got a rather busy afternoon - i hope you’ve kept yourself free.” olive stated, wiggling her eyebrows playfully at the other.

“One of the kids in daycare today told me my hello kitty phone case was lame and I couldn’t think of a comeback,” Jennifer sighed to the first person she saw. “Where is the respect for the classics?”
olive paused as she listened to the over. “i tend to agree with the kid.” she shrugged her shoulders. - unamused by the others complaint. “hello kitty isn’t a classic - it’s a kid tv series, and if a kid called you out on it -” her voice trailed on, rolling her eyes at the thought. “aren’t teachers supposed to be sophisticated? have a nice aesthetic?”
