Where do you go when your eyes go blank?
Probably to the last pages I turned?
I was in Dublin last night. Just finished Normal People, and yeah... it lingers.

Let's ascend to immortal realm!
My (not so) rambling page about Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan
Meet the casts! (My very personal cast)

Zhouye as Xingyin
Daughter of Chang'e, the Moon Goddess, and the famous mortal archer Houyi. Curious, determined, adventurous, but often acts without thinking or understanding the consequences until it is too late. Basicly a rock-headed but family-oriented.

Neo Hou as Liwei
The Crown Prince of Celestial Kingdom. He establishes a place for Xingyin in his court as his study mate and friend. He was so soft-hearted, loyal, kind, and sweet. Couldn’t help but root for him!

Cheng Lei as Wenzhi
A capable and respected captain, often seen protecting Xingyin during battles.

(Honestly, I was so stressed for Liwei and Wenzhi. BOTH LIWEI OR WENZHI DISAPPOINTED ME. BYE.). STILL I enjoyed this book as a whole and am deeply interested in where the sequel is going.
What a fantastical and epic journey this book took me on! I ADORE fantasy books inspired by legends and folklore, it feels educational, where we get more insight in different cultures, at the same time as it’s a amazing fantasy book. Our female protagonist, Xingyin, has such Mulan, female rage vibes, it’s incredible. The worldbuilding is magical, I can easily see the gorgeous environments of the celestial kingdom. Dragon? Merman? My life is complete... Speaking of magical, the magic system is so profound and mystical, truly captivated me. I mean, summoning a cloud to take you where you want to go? How cool?! ☁️
Here some of my fav quotes:

…and here’s me, your sentimental fool, making a whole playlist just for this book;

Did you ever hear about the girl who got frozen? Time went on for everybody else, she won't know it. She's still 23 inside her fantasy. How it was supposed to be?

Dear Lighter,
Jiao Gongzhu; call me Princess, I asked you one day.
I (was) the one who once said, "No one can call me Princess, cause I'm the Queen!" Because back then, I thought I had to be strong all the time. But somehow, you made me feel safe enough not to.
Now that we're parting ways—for an unspecified time limit, as you said—I think I must unburden my heart.
By the time you read this, we'll be on different continents. (It's kinda funny how on the exact same day we both left home. Chasing dreams, you said). I can no longer see you easily. Not that we saw each other often before (lol), but now, it's going to be so much harder.
Thank you for being by my side for the silliest yet precious memories. Like the time you gave me a bike ride, and we fell halfway through (IT WAS YOUR CLEVER IDEA, SILLY! I BRUISE EASILY!!!), or when we cried silently in the theater, or when we pulled all-nighters stressing over assignments while blasting our favorite songs, or when we both stay away from home during holidays cause it just felt too heavy. I'll keep those close.
I used to think you were shy and quiet. I was wrong. You turned out to be the bravest person I know. Your parents must be proud—just like I am.
As much as a part of me wants selfishly ask you to stay (it's May. I don't want this May to pass by without you), or at least not outgrow me, the bigger part of me wants you to fly, as far as you must, to grow, as high as you can.
Maybe, just maybe, we'll share another drama or book recs again. Maybe laugh over popcorn at a movie theater. Maybe cry during the concert opening. Or maybe just spend the night vibe to our fav songs like nothing changed.
But even if we don't (Idk but sounds so scary), just know that I'm proud of you. Always rooting for you. Always grateful you exist, wherever you are in this little big world.
Though I'm sad that you're leaving, I'm proud of what we achieved together. I hope our paths cross again.
Sincerely yours,
Princess.
...
P.S.: For now.. can you just reply my chat at least? Please?? You promised you'd text me every day :(((

Just found out that:
'Pancaroba' means 'gemuruh yang menyebar.'
... kinda poetic, don't you think?
I've always felt Bahasa Indonesia is secretly poetic, like how can 'sayang' mean both love and letting go, 'tinggal' both staying and leaving? It's like the language understands heartbreak.
