Rape Victim Ordered to Pay Child Support to his Rapist

A 15-year-old boy who was raped by a 34-year-old woman now faces child support in Nebraska.

This is the case for now 19-year-old Jeremy Steen, of Lincoln, Nebraska. In 2008, Steen was seduced and raped repeatedly by his 34-year-old baby sitter Linda Kazinsky. Sources testified that the sexual abuse took place weekly for nearly 3 years. After police were alerted, Ms. Kazinsky was arrested and charged with statutory rape and false imprisonment.

After Kazinsky’s release from Nebraska’s state prison system in 2012 she was able to regain custody of her child. After being reunited with her child, Kazinsky promptly filed for Aid and Government assistance which in turn landed Jeremy with a subpena for child support.

Jeremy had his day in court and was ordered to pay $475 a month in child support to Linda Kazinsky as well as a whopping $23,000 in back Child Support payments.

As incredible as this case sounds it’s not the first nor the last of its kind. Unfortunately, men are victimized as much as women over child support these days. It’s an unpopular topic but one that should be addressed.

Court dismisses man's theft claim against lover who kept semen

An appeals court said a man can press a claim for emotional distress after learning a former lover had used his sperm to have a baby. But he can’t claim theft, the ruling said, because the sperm were hers to keep. 

Dr. Richard O. Phillips accuses Dr. Sharon Irons of a “calculated, profound personal betrayal” after their affair six years ago, saying she secretly kept semen after they had oral sex, then used it to get pregnant. He said he didn’t find out about the child for nearly two years, when Irons filed a paternity lawsuit. DNA tests confirmed Phillips was the father, the court papers state. Phillips was ordered to pay about $800 a month in child support, said Irons’ attorney, Enrico Mirabelli.

“She asserts that when plaintiff 'delivered' his sperm, it was a gift — an absolute and irrevocable transfer of title to property from a donor to a donee,” the decision said. “There was no agreement that the original deposit would be returned upon request.”

"Last week [on November 24, 2013], participants in the 28th annual National Meeting of Women in Argentina attempted to storm a local church and assaulted its defenders, a practice that has become customary at the feminist conference. In addition to the assault on the cathedral, the protesters sprayed pro-abortion and pro-gay graffiti around the city and burned an effigy of Pope Francis, who is from Argentina. Women danced and ran around the burning figure shouting, ‘If the Pope were a woman, abortion would be legal' and 'Get your rosaries off our ovaries.'

While media reports describe the event as “clashes” between the groups, the video shows the men engaged in non-violent resistance, standing arm in arm and not reacting to the attacks from the women, even while they are being physically assaulted.  Likewise, no video of counter-protesters has emerged during the other demonstrations."

"Over the years, Edward Bowdery had his driver's license stripped and once even found himself in handcuffs over child support payments for a child that's not his. Bowdery asked several judges during several hearings for a DNA test, but no judge ordered one.

In 2009, he took the child himself to get a DNA test and found the son he supported for years was not biologically his. He took the documentation to court, the judge wouldn't accept it, but ordered a new DNA test done that showed the same result - probability of paternity: 0%.

The judge stopped the child support going forward, but Bowdery still has to pay $436 dollars a month to the mother in back pay. The question many people might ask, 'Why is Bowdery still paying back pay to the child's mother? We're told by law the new judge he's dealing with can't undo another judge's ruiling."
