V-VII were vessels that were assigned to other roles that weren’t related to the music (sermons, stage help, etc)

V-VII straight up died. Either by disrespecting Sleep or to mortal causes

VIII is what I want to call a “hassle numeral” because in roman numerals, it’s pretty long. It’s not short and clean like VI or IX. VIII is a number you’d probably gloss over. A number you would disregard. And I thought “yeah that’s him.”
