Thinking about Episode 14 again and Tears of Themis’ main story as a whole

These people, their lives, and cases aren’t perfect, a lot of them are rather messed up, just like in our world

With all the goodness there is in this world, this is still a sad fact, it’s still messed up. It’s still filled with injustices and tragedies. It’s still filled with crimes and cruelty. It’s still our very imperfect world

we can never deny this sad reality

But that’s also another reason why I love Tears of Themis, in showing us these cases that are so close to ones in our world and the things that go on in Stellis, it actively pushes the message that we can always try to create a better world

Tears of Themis doesn’t show us these stories to prove “The world is terrible and we can only suffer”, it does so because we should always strive to achieve a better world and never give up on that

If you want to improve something, the first step is to acknowledge a problem even exists

You obviously cannot try to better the world if you always deny its imperfections

The game always tries to tell us that our world is not free of misery and misfortune, but that doesn’t mean we should sit around and be pessimistic about it; we should instead try to create a better world to live in, no matter how long it takes

i absolutely love how in ending 2 of wilardo’s conclusion, the story wraps up in the exact same place where it started in base game

even in the epilogue, it ends right on that same spot too. We close the story right where it all started, that’s just a detail i adore
