People say the Wayfinder Trio is just another iteration of the Destiny Trio. I would agree, but I think it’s more complex than “Terra is Riku, Aqua is Kairi, Ven is Sora.”

Sora is Terra. The only thing he cares about is loving and saving his friends, often to the point of stupidity and poor decisions. The one chosen by Xehanort. But, Sora is better than Terra. He doesn’t make Terra’s mistakes. Instead of beating himself up and pushing away the people who love him after he failed the Mark of Mastery test, he couldn’t be more proud of Riku and decides to work ever harder to achieve it. Terra was chosen for his weakness and reliance on darkness. Sora was chosen for his strength and his light, and Xehanort trusted him to make things right.

Riku is Aqua. He’s the responsible one, the strongest, and the one who takes it upon himself to protect the other two at his own expense. They both have been taken and controlled by darkness and then were still able to rise up and defeat it. They’d give anything for their friends and aren’t afraid to fight by their sides. They selflessly sacrificed themselves to the darkness in one final hope it would save their best friend. But Riku knows better than Aqua. He trusts his friends and believes they can handle themselves. He was able to save his friend from darkness, while Aqua inadvertently pushed hers further in. Aqua couldn’t handle the idea that her friends were out alone and spent all of BBS trying to find them and bring them home, with no regard for how they were feeling about it or if they even wanted to go home. Riku recognizes that he can’t always be there for Sora and Kairi, but he believes in them and makes sure to help whenever he can.

Kairi is Ventus. They’re naïve and inexperienced, with a desperate desire to prove themselves and fight for what they care about. Although they’re the weakest of the three, they want nothing more than to be with and protect their friends. Everything hinges on them in the end; Ven had to destroy the X-Blade to destroy Xehanort, and Kairi had to keep Sora from fading away so he could bring everyone back and finish the battle. But, Kairi knows better than Ven. She waits at home for her friends to come back to her. Eventually, she is able to join and fight alongside them, and takes it up with great care and a sense of responsibility. Ven rushed into going after his friends before he was ready, which is what got him killed. Kairi waits for her chance, trains for it, and saves the day in the end.

The Destiny Trio could definitely be considered another second iteration of the Wayfinder Trio. They are Terra, Aqua, and Ven’s redemption.

The origin of the forest witch and warrior. 

-The idea was that Yuri is a convicted witch that has been a prisoner for a while now and Otabek sat over him the whole time thus, them slowly falling in love with each other.

-Come execution day, Otabek can’t watch the love of his life burnt alive on orders from his king so he fights back in order to rescue his witch and run off. Otabek however get’s injured but, they still manage to escape and are racing through the forest on a stolen horse. Yuri riding front, both of them tense and silent and pumped full of adrenaline. Yuri frantically searching his mind for a place to hide, a safe haven, something, ANYTHING!! When Otabek slips from the horse and crashed into the undergrowth… His body unnaturally twisted and the horse covered in blood, Otabek is dead.

-Yuri starts panicking and drags his body deep into the darkest part of the forest where he knows he’ll be safe and not found, there he starts preforming a forbidden ritual, thus splitting his soul in two parts and giving the other part to Otabek in order for him to live.

-It works, Otabek comes back from the other side with half a soul and a stronger bond to his witch now more than ever.

So the Witch and the Warrior illustration sort of escalated into a full on idea, my good friend  @elowish came to me and the ball.started.ROLLING, his ideas are so fucking great and let’s hope this fully develops into something great!
