ok typically what i do is i wear Not Home clothes when i'm out of the house and Home clothes when i'm in the house which also double as Asleep clothes but apparently nobody else on earth does this and that's super weird. please help me gather data points/settle an argument

ahh in relation to the UK act that's being introduced, you're right a petition won't really do anything, especially since, unlike the us, the uk government isn't bound to actually respond to petitions no matter how many signatures they have 🤧 but !! so far what's being introduced on the 25th is ofcom's draft of HOW the act should be put into action so if you do want to do something & are unsure of what actions to take, what we CAN do is email our local MPs on ofcoms proposed age verifications [i.e. facial id, banking id] & how they are, at best, an invasion of our civil liberties in direct contrast to basic internet safety + in violation of how the act is meant to protect children & women above all else [encouraging teenagers for example that uploading personal information is acceptable in order to engage with social media sites]. It won't discard the act - since it's already passed through the house of commons by the sounds of it, there's no going back now 😔 - but unlike with petitions, an mp is expected to respond + bring up any concerns brought up within their locale no matter their political leanings, so with luck we MIGHT be able to encourage a conversation about alternative methods of age verification that aren't so personal

sorry if i'm gonna be quiet for a while. my country recently introduced laws that make it so that in order to use social media to the fullest (not being able to view ns/fw content and in a few cases, not even having access to dms), i HAVE to give the sites my id/face scan.

it goes into effect july 25th. it'll probably effect here too, since this place allows mature content (tho not full on ns/fw)

i'm very distressed about it bc i might end up not even being able to talk to my internet friends. i don't really have any irl ones

if i have to disappear on most socials by then, you know why.
