TW: GUN VIOLENCE
Update: What happened in Bangladesh on 16th July 2024-
A student named Abu Sayed, age 25, has been killed by the gunshot of a police officer. His last moments were recorded, and it is given below:

On 15th July 2024, one day before dying, he wrote a post saying-
If I am martyred today, leave my frozen body on the street.
When the student society returns to the room with the victory procession, they will declare me the winner and bury me.
A loser's body will never be accepted by his parents
-Adnan Abir
Coordinator
Ani-discrimination Student Movement of Bangladesh
The boy fought fiercely and bravely; he didn't back down from the police. He had no weapon in his hand that were enough to hurt a man. But the polices continued to shoot him with a fucking rifle. He did not deserve this; he did not deserve this fate. He died with dignity; he sacrificed his life for the wellbeing of students. But unfortunately, the fascist government of Bangladesh disappointed us greatly by declaring him as a "Rajakar." Rajakars are those who collaborated with the enemy Pakistani Military Army on 1971 liberation war of Bangladesh. This is the current situation in Bangladesh guys. No student in the nation is safe after this incident. Abu Sayed came from a very poor family. His family members aren't well educated, they live in rural village. After his death, his mother and father broke down crying while saying that they raised Sayed with so much difficulty as they were very poor. Abu Sayed's sister also demanded that he deserves a proper funeral. But the sad thing is, the government will not recognize his martyrdom and declare him as a terrorist.
When will be the end of this? When will the Prime Minister finally realize that her country does not want her as their ruler anymore.
Here are some artworks of our brave Bangladeshi Students who are protesting through their arts and encouraging the students to go on with this mass protest and earn their human rights.

May God give those brave students strength, they deserve so much better. You know what they have been fighting for since the reign of Hasina? They've been fighting for Safe roads and streets, reform job quotas- are these even worth dying for?! Aren't these rights supposed to be implemented by the government itself?

This is what students are being treated for demanding their rights,
The Quota Reforming Protest in Bangladesh, by students, has crossed all humanitarian boundaries especially after continuous attacks on students by Awami Chatra League.

THE STUDENTS OF BANGLADESH ARE DYING.
The so called students league called BCL or Bangladesh Chatro league, who are basically the rabid dogs of the rolling government of Bangladesh are attacking, assaulting and killing the students protesting against the Quota system that gives off government jobs for the children and grandchildren of freedom fighters of the liberation war. Our own prime minister called us rajakar (traitor who betrayed Bangladesh to Pakistan in 1971) and said anyone who isn't the child of declared freedom fighter is a child of a rajakar. So the students created a slogan "who am I? Who are you? Rajakar, rajakar!" Ignoring the irony of the slogan, the pm set her rabid dogs on the students, my people are dying because she (pm) refuses to let go of nepotism. We can't use our freedom of speech. Please help us.
Our Internet is being cut off, our accounts are being hacked, our electricity is said to be gone soon. SPREAD THE WORD.

WHAT IS HAPPENING IN BANGLADESH?
Students of college, universities and even high schools in Bangladesh have taken to the streets in a mass movement named the "Bangla Blockade" demanding the eradication of the quota system.
The quota system reserves a massive percentage of the government jobs for specific groups of people. These jobs are earned by sitting for the Bangladesh Civil Service exams.
Effectively, only 46% of the jobs are left to be contested by merit.
The biggest quota sectors are NOT for the disabled, or indigenous people or for women.
THIRTY PERCENT of the jobs are reserved for children and grandchildred of registered freedom fighters.
The police and political wings are using violence on the protesters. Images of armed men beating up women with sticks and rods are going viral.
Spread the word. We need more people talking about this.

What started as a quota reform movement has now become a fire, an onrush against the oppressors, a fight to reclaim our voice, our freedom of speech. The autocratic regime has been leeching on our blood for more than decade. Now it's time to reclaim our rights, now it's a fight to restore democracy in Bangladesh. Please keep your eyes on us. Fascists have deployed their dogs and hounds to push us back. Five protestors have already been killed. The students are being cornered, massacred. And we don't have a functioning neutral state to appeal to. The national media, being under the fascists paychecks, are spewing only propaganda and misinformation. We look up to you know, the look. It's as if we're all alone, and neither the movement nor the massacre will stop anytime soon. So, again, please keep an eye on us. All we're asking for is visibility. All eyes on Bangladesh.
