Due to my condition, I'm always irritated and I have no friends. But beyond that I just don't want to be looked at so strangely!

{ ♫ }—; It wasn't rare for Takane to get irritated by other people, however this meeting was different. As soon as she saw a stranger in this room, she felt empty. Following that emptiness, came anger. Seeing Haruka missing only fuelled that anger. Even though she was furious, Takane didn't understand why. This guy was just, here. He could have been friends with Haruka for all she knew. Coming to visit a friend wasn't odd, she had the same intention. That didn't cross her mind. It didn't seem like that was the case anyways, the white haired boy looked a little out of it. As if he didn't know what was going on. To her, he was a stranger. A stranger who looked just a little familiar... No more than a little. He didn't just resemble Haruka there had to be something else. Takane had definitely seen him somewhere, but where?
{ ♫ }—; Not knowing any of the answers to her own questions irritated her. Seeing that confused expression on this guys didn't help in the slightest. He was hesitating in answering any of her questions, did he even know the answers? Let alone his own name. Finally the other spoke again. Certainly took long enough. When the name he claimed slipped out of his mouth Takane's eyes widened. She could feel the tears forming at the corner of her eyes. D-Did he say... Konoha..? She asked herself, trying to wrap her head around the idea of that being his name. She felt her body tremble more than it had been before. His voice echoed in her head. Haruka and Takane had decided on their online handles. Haruka was inspired hearing about her own handle as 'Ene' and wanted to create his own. Using parts of both his first and last name, he came up with the handle 'Konoha'. Why was this person's name Konoha? Clenching her fists into balls hard enough they hurt from her nails digging into her skin she spoke again. "What the hell kind of joke is that!?" Was this guy getting a kick from this? He had the guts to lie like that. However, to Takane's memory... It was only the two of them who talked about those names, right?
{ ♫ }—; Come to think of it, this boy looked exactly like the character 'Konoha' Haruka had designed for a game. Identical even. Takane was on the verge of tears, though her anger would break through that barrier. Dammit. Dammit! Dammit!! Why was she getting so emotional? Takane didn't even know what she was feeling right now. Anger, emptiness, confusion... or sad? Maybe it was just a mix of them all. Clenching her teeth again she shot a glare at the other. "What do you mean you don't know-!? You can't not know why you were here!! You came here for a reason, so what was it!?" Yelling wasn't going to get her anywhere, but she didn't know what else to do.
{ ♫ }—; Even now, this lying fake still had such a lost expression on his face. With a rough sigh she tried to explain more clearly, it didn't look like the other was getting the message. "Yeah. Someone important to me had been assigned this room. I'd appreciate it if you tell me where he is. And you better figure out why you came here or I'm going to get irritated." Although the volume from before had decreased, by the tone of her voice you could tell her temper was still at it's peak. Finally it seemed like this absent minded person had an answer.
I was the person in that bed
{ ♫ }—; "..." Speechless. No words could even pass through her mind. Everything just stopped. Suddenly a laugh came from the petite girl. However it was not a laugh filled with joy the way a laugh should be. It was... Broken. "You must think you're just hilarious, huh?" A paused. Shooting another glare to the male, this one far more furious than any of the previous one's. "Do I look like an idiot?" Telling her such an obvious lie, how could he... How could anyone even have the guts to straight up lie like that? "You better cut it with the jokes before I get serious."
                                                                                                                 It was cruel.

Lost Time Memory | Takane & Konoha
It didn’t take long before the girl responded to his words, but her shaky voice had no intention of relating to the question he had asked of her. At least he assumed that to be the case. His immediate thought would be that ‘Haruka’ answered his inquiry, but the questioning tone of voice had shot down that line of thought quickly. Now Konoha was just even more confused. Who was ‘Haruka’? Who was this girl? And why did she look so shaken from merely entering the room and catching a glimpse of him?
Instead of explaining anything to him however, the girl’s whole attitude changed completely, and Konoha’s mind soon came to identify the emotion she was showing: ‘anger’. A single word popping up in his mind, a word that he felt unable to recognise, and yet he was somehow able to tell: this had to be an emotion called ‘anger’. But that was a bad thing, right? He had… upset her? Unsure of what was actually going on and how he had managed to set her off like that, the boy’s otherwise expressionless face carried an almost unnoticeable glimpse of meekness and vague timidness. Right now he was barely aware of anything regarding himself or the world, but he did know one thing - he did not at all enjoy being exposed to this strong negative emotion.
For now he would have to get her to calm down again one way or another; that would probably be the best. “I’m Konoha,” he answered the question even though he had technically been the one to ask about her name first. Although no one had yet to confirm his identity to him, Konoha felt that there couldn’t be much doubt about this. When he had looked in the mirror that was the word that had popped up in his mind to put a name to the reflected form. His form. As for anything beside that… “I’m sorry… but I don’t know.” he began explaining in his monotone and slow voice. What he was doing here or even where ‘here’ was, was still a complete mystery to him.
Tumblr media
"Guy? Assigned?" Both words were said with a genuinely curious tilt of the head. If it was about the person who had originally been in that bed it could only be one. "Ah…!" Realising, the albino boy pointed a finger at himself. "I was the person in that bed." How good, he had been able to answer her concerns! Now she would be returning to normal and stop being angry, right? The thought of that being the case gave a warm tinge inside Konoha’s chest.

{ ♫ }—; The moment this stranger laid eyes on her, he looked completely shocked. As if he'd never seen an adorable blue haired cyber girl like her. What time period did this kid live in the early seventeen hundreds? Opening her mouth wide and stretching her arms to the side she mimicked his shocked expression. "Eeeeh!? YOU can talk?!" Repeating him word for word, the blue haired cyber girl rolled on her back unable to hold back her laughter. "Haha! You should've seen your face, it was priceless!" She said while wiping the tears of laughter from the corner of her eyes. "Kid, why do you sound so surprised? Of course I can talk! I'm talking to you, aren't I?" Her voice was energetic and cheerful as usual. Suddenly the girl changed her cheerful expression to a more dramatic, serious one. Ah, yes Ene was a master actress. "Unless of course... You're imagining the whole thing! Maybe you've suffered a traumatic experience and are slowly loosing you mind-!!" The girl paused between her sentences trying to stop herself from laughing. "Pfft-- You must've been dropped pretty hard as a kid or something, right?" She teased the other. "Just kidding, just kidding! You're correct! What a shocker. I CAN talk. Amazing right?" Only speaking to this boy for a few minutes she was already firing shots whenever possible. Ah, poor kid having opened that file. Too late now, no take backs! She's here to stay.
{ ♫ }—; "Well, you certainly look like a Kid to me! You're probably the same height as a small to medium sized elementary student." If she was trying to get this guy to take her to the festival, she definitely wasn't off to a great start. No matter, she was already having fun with him. "Hey, hey! Tell you what Kid, maybe if you take me to that festival everyone is talking about I'll call you Hina-whatever it was instead of Kid. Sound like a deal?" Of course, not everything she said could be trusted. This kid looked pretty gullible though.

What was your muse's wish for Tanabata? What other wishes were they considering making?
{ ♫ }—; Hearing the sudden question, Takane felt her heart sink. What had she wished for. On that day, she wanted to be with Haruka. All she wanted was to spend time with the one person she cared for most. But her wish… She never ended up attending the festival with him. Takane wasn’t even one to enjoy attending festivals, but this… This was going to be an exception. The two of them, they were suppose to attend together. Just the two of them… Like a date. Haruka… He wanted to go so much, but he couldn’t. Why of all days did it have to be that one? Even now she remembered the excitement in his voice while talking about it. It wasn’t fair.
{ ♫ }—; Burying her hands in her face to cover her eyes as tears poured out of them. “Ha-..Haru…Haruka…” Why did someone like Haruka have to suffer like this? He didn’t deserve it, why was the world so cruel? Someone like Haruka being cursed with a horrible illness. A wish she made at Tanabata, huh?
                         Haruka, please be alright…
{ ♫ }—; Her own voice echoed through her mind. That was the closest thing to a wish she had made that day. God, she was so stupid. It took her so long to realize. She really never deserved someone as good as Haruka. Tears continued to drip from her eyes as she desperately tried to push them aside. “I…I wish… I wish I could’ve saved him…” Her answer almost incomprehensible through the loud sobs that wracked her petite frame. “I want to go back, and I want to save him…” She couldn’t even lift her head, thinking about it. “We could have switched places…”

{ ♫ }—; Ever since that day, Haruka had been unconscious in hospital. Every chance Takane had, she would visit the boy hoping with all her heart he would open his eyes again. It was all she wanted at this point. She didn't want it to happen again, the words she had always wanted to say never reached him. That one thing she wanted to say, three simple words never made their way out of her mouth. Even now, she still had time... Right? He was still alive, only clinging to life by a thread but... He was alive. When she found Haruka laying on the floor of his dorm, he was alive. That moment, Takane was so afraid of losing the one person she cared about as much as she did. Knowing he was alive then-- Even just barely --reassured her to some extend. Besides Haruka had made it through attacks like this before. He would pull through this time as well, she told herself. He had to pull through.
{ ♫ }—; Honestly, she blamed herself for whatever happened in that room that day. If she hadn't pushed Haruka into attending that stupid festival with her, maybe he would still be here. Smiling and laughing like his usual careless self. Instead he was stuck in a hospital, god knows how many times he had already been through that. She knew he hated that place enough already. Takane had been the one to suggest meeting later that day anyways, if they had of stayed together she could have been there when it happened. She could have been there. She could have saved him. Days after that had happened, her eyes remained swollen from the tears that she had been crying.
{ ♫ }—; Takane promised herself, the moment Haruka opened his eyes... She would say it. Already she had missed her first chance, that wasn't going to happen again. If she missed her chance for a second time, she really would never forgive herself. The raven haired girl rubbed her eyes before entering the hospital room. With the slim chance Haruka had opened his eyes, Takane would hate for him to know she had been crying all this time. She knew he always hated being a burden on people, Takane wasn't going to let him think that he was burdening her. Kokonose Haruka, read the name tag outside the door. "Pardon the intrusion." she said in a quiet voice before sliding the door opened. The moment she looked in the room, she was shocked and it read on her face. A male was standing in front of the window. For a single moment she felt her heart pound, was it really him? "Ha-...Haruka..!?" Without paying attention to this persons face she blurted out his name. The doctors said it could be ages until he would even regain consciousness, if he did for that matter.
Tumblr media
{ ♫ }—; No... No that wasn't Haruka. It was all wrong. The height was right but... It wasn't him. Why? This was Haruka's room. Why was this person here? A white haired boy with pink eyes, that was certainly not Haruka. Ignoring the males question, Takane rushed over to the bed Haruka had once been laying in. No one was there. In that moment, Takane felt... Empty. Completely alone again. Her eyes widened. Fighting the tears that were forming in the corner of her eyes, she spun around to look at the male standing in the same room as her. Who was he? Ah... Actually, he looked familiar too. Why? She didn't know this person. He looked similar to Haruka, but it was something else. Something more than just the similarities he shared with Haruka. What was it, why did she know him? And why... Did she feel so angry? Of course the most important question was where was Haruka. Takane clenched her fists and grit her teeth. "I should be the one asking you that... What are you doing here?" In reply to his earlier question. She felt an anger boiling inside her. "Mind telling me where the guy who was assigned to that bed is?" She asked in a cold tone of voice motioning to Haruka's hospital bed. Her anger was clear as day, even a complete stranger could tell she was furious-- More so than usual. Who the hell was this guy?
Lost Time Memory | Takane & Konoha
It was a strange feeling: waking up with a feeling of complete emptiness inside and absolutely no recollection of even the smallest thing. Although Konoha had absolutely nothing to compare it with and hence had no idea if this was not just how it was supposed to be, he had an uneasy feeling that something was terribly wrong. An empty existence, no past and no present, this boy only had a future to look at. His memories in their entirety literally consisted of nothing but those mere moments since he woke up in this unfamiliar place. Saying that he knew nothing however was not entirely true: while he had no inkling towards the full amount of his knowledge, he had discovered the ability to perform basic endeavours such as speaking, moving, recognising.
He wasn’t entirely sure what this feeling was. A sort of ease in his chest when he would think that eventually he might be able to remember things, but at the same time a feeling of sadness at having forgotten in the first place. Who had he been before? Why had he forgotten everything? Would it even be a life worth returning to…? At any rate, asking himself such questions weren’t going to do any good, because then he would never be any wiser. Outside the windows of this small room he could see countless of people streaming by, and maybe one of them had the answers he needed.
Sliding open the window, Konoha looked down - the height would be overwhelming to any ordinary person, but it didn’t faze nor frighten him much. He would just have to get down there, right? Down where everyone was. A quick jump should suffice. Before he got that far however, the sound of a door opening quietly came from behind him, just as he had begun his climb to the window. Turning his head around, the pink eyes caught glimpse of a teenage girl with her raven hair tied into twin tails. Konoha kept his deadpan glare on her for quite some time before finally putting words to his confusion.

I know… I’m kinda STUBBORN.      I know even if I want to thank him { properly, }      I would NEVER be able to.
My tongue would TIE and                                          I’d wind up INSULTING him instead.

{ ♫ }—; At times Takane wondered if she tried too hard acting a particular way in front of Haruka. If she came across as too rough, trying to act 'cool' around him probably sounded silly. Really the way she acted with him was her natural reflex. Even if she did push too hard, Haruka would never say anything about it. He would simply accept her as she was, no matter how much she yelled at him. Whenever Takane said something that hurt Haruka even in the slightest she always felt some kind of feeling of guilt balling up inside her. Sometimes even when she wanted to apologize for something she had said, it simply wasn't possible. The words she wanted to say, they would never make their way to the person she wanted to say them too.
{ ♫ }—; After sorting out the details of where to meet, Takane heard Haruka muttering to himself. Whatever words he was saying to himself, she couldn't quite make out. By the looks of it he was deep in thought, although his expression seemed a little.. off. Somehow he looked, uneasy as if he was worrying about something. Takane had known him long enough to be able to assume he was questioning Takane wanting to attend. Her eyes narrowed for a moment and she reached up grabbing his cheek and tugging it. "Oi, Haruka. Don't make an expression like that." her voice was stern, but still the softness remained. I want to go with you... The words she wanted to add that she just couldn't manage to spit out. Hearing him correct himself for whatever he said a slight smile formed at her lips. She was happy to hear him finally saying what was on his mind.
{ ♫ }—; Once they had sorted out the arrangements of meeting just as they were parting ways for now her smile widened. Not even she cold hold back how happy she was, attending the festival with Haruka. Her cheeks were red, but even so she had the confidence to face him. "Right, it's a deal. So you better not be late, got it?" Although she was usually trying to keep her cool act in front of Haruka every so often, other parts of her would slip in as well. Smiling like this almost seemed unlike her.
Tumblr media
{ ♫ }—; Once Haruka went on his way Takane stood and watched until he was completely out of sight. Somehow once he was gone, she felt lonely. Even if she was going to see him shortly after, something about it felt lonely. It wasn't like this would be the last time she would see him after all. Pushing her loneliness to the side the smile returned. Waiting just long enough so Haruka wouldn't see she covered her flushed cheeks. "A... Date with Haruka, huh?" she admitted to herself it basically was a date. How could she hold back how happy she was now? She and the person that she loved were going to attend a festival, the same way couples did. Haruka and Takane would probably never get to act like a couple, but it was kind of nice to think of it. Ah, it felt weird to think of things this way. Takane had never imagined herself getting excited going to festival, let alone a date.
{ ♫ }—; Calming herself down a bit and regaining her composure Takane made her way to Rikugien Garden. It took a little longer than she had thought to arrive there, once she did Takane placed herself on the park bench. Come to think of it, she and Haruka hadn't actually made a set time to meet. Haruka was just going to come once he had finished doing whatever it was he was doing.
{ ♫ }—; After some time had passed, her foot was tapping impatiently on the ground. Even Haruka wouldn't usually take this long. "What on earth is that guy doing?" Takane complained to herself. She wondered if Haruka had decided he didn't to go with her after all. Why would someone want to attend a festival with someone like her anyways? She pulled her phone out of her pocket. ɴᴏ ɴᴇᴡ ᴍᴇssᴀɢᴇs. She leaned back in her seat and looked at the sky. She probably let the situation get to her head. Takane was assuming something she wanted to happen, instead of what was actually happening. A sad laugh escaped her lips, and tears formed at the corner of her eyes. "I really let that get to my head, didn't I?" she said softly to herself. Ah, but Haruka wasn't someone who would plan a meeting and just no attend. At the very least he would tell her he couldn't make it. At least she could hold onto that in hopes he was still coming.
[To:] Kokonose Haruka [From:] Enomoto Takane
Haruka are you nearby? Tell me where you are and I'll meet you on the way, that is if you're still coming...
There's no rush, it took me a while to get here too. It makes sense to meet on the way that's all. See you.
{ ♫ }—; A loud sigh escaped her lips as she sent the messages. Haruka may have just forgotten, although he wasn't one to forget things like this. A little longer passed, checking her phone once again ɴᴏ ɴᴇᴡ ᴍᴇssᴀɢᴇs. Maybe if she tried to call him she'd get his attention? Suddenly Takane realized, her eyes widened. Not even Haruka would take this long without saying a thing, no matter the circumstances. "What if he--" Cutting off her own sentence she stood up and ran. This body was no good, she didn't have enough energy to run as fast as others. However as determined as she was, Takane ran faster than she ever had. It hadn't even occurred to her to use 'Ene' to find him, the first thing she thought of was running there herself.Every so often she'd trip over her own two feet, or even knock someone out of her way. How could she have not realized? Haruka's body was even more fragile than her's. Had he been pushing himself to hard all this time? She hadn't even noticed him being in pain. He was smiling and laughing the same way he always did. How was she suppose to know?
{ ♫ }—; Pulling out her phone she had dialled his number several times, only to hear it ring numerous times. No answer, again and again. Tears formed at the corner of her eyes, only to start rolling down her cheek. She was such an idiot. "Ha--...Haruka..!" she called out his name while running as hard as she could. Please... Oh god, please tell me he didn't have an attack, Her head was pounded having all these thoughts passing though her head. Takane had left him. If only she had walked over with him, maybe he would have been alright. What if he had pushed himself too hard to get here on time? She told him not to be late... Hadn't she? If he was rushing then.. What if... It was her fault? If Takane hadn't pushed him to invite her to the festival, he wouldn't have been in this situation. Why..? Her own voice echoed through her mind. All she could see was Haruka's face. I'm sorry...
Tumblr media
                                   "Haruka, please be alright..."
{ ♫ }—; Completely out of breath, she stood at the Ouran boys college dorms. Her eyes filled with tears, she banged on the locked door. Wasn't anyone there..? Or... Was everyone at the festival by now? Banging on the doors harder she prayed someone would hear her and open the door. Takane could hardly see through the tears that blocked her vision when the door clicked open. Without even explaining to whoever opened the door she rushed in. What was the room number again? There was a list with roommates near the side of the stairwell, quickly skimming through the names she found it. Room 1001. Arriving at the door, she panted. It was unlocked.
{ ♫ }—; Hesitantly she pulled open the door. The girl was shocked when she saw him. Motionless on the floor lay her friend. She was right. An attack, by the looks of it a very serious one. Her body trembling she approached him. "Haru-... Haruka....?" she called out to him once trying to speak through the loud sobs that wracked her petite body. "Ha-Haruka... Y-You can't...." He wasn't responding, nor did he look as if he would any time soon. She wrapped her arms around his torso. His body felt cold, she couldn't even tell if there was a pulse. Tears dripping from her eyes landed on Haruka's shirt. "Some...one... Someone, please help..!" she cried hoping someone would come. Someone would be able to save him. "Haruka don't you dare die on me..! I-I'll never forgive you... W-We made a deal... We were suppose to go to the festival" her crying made it difficult to speak. How could this happen a second time? Making the same mistake twice, she was pathetic. Pressing her head into his chest to attempt silencing her loud sobbing. Takane lifted her head once more to yell.
                                   "S-Someone! Ple...Please! Anyone..!"
Somebody... Please save him.
Haruka’s smile became a bit sheepish when Takane called him childish, but even he had to admit that there was some truth to that. He liked to think that he had matured a bit since high school, but in reality he was very much the same in mind. Maybe it was his reluctance to accept change that kept him from maturing. But Haruka was way too dependant on his stable yesterdays to accept the future he couldn’t be certain of. Bunkyo was supposed to help him move forward, accept a new life where he was forced to avert his eyes from the past he was stuck in, but with Takane’s appearance everything was far too alike those past days and it became too easy to just indulge in them again. Maybe it wasn’t good for him in the end, but he wouldn’t trade these days for anything in the world.
"I knew it, it really is an inconvenience to Takane, huh…?" he muttered in a low voice hearing her hesitation and the feelings of guilt forced their way back. But he soon caught himself, realising that she was probably just going to yell at him again or pinch his cheek or something if he kept trailing around in the same indecisiveness when she had already given her approval. "A-ah, I mean…" he quickly added to calm her, already anticipating the worst. "If you’re free then let’s go there now, yes…" It felt weird, speaking up for himself like this for a change; somehow it felt wrong, as if he wasn’t allowed to or as if he should just keep silent and appreciate what he could actually get.
Tumblr media
But either Takane didn’t share these thoughts or she was very good at hiding it, because no such feelings showed in neither her expression nor her words, much to the boy’s relief. His face brightened up a bit. “It’s a deal then. I’ll hurry up~!” At least hurry as much as he was capable of, but Takane of all people already knew that very well, and she was probably even going to scold him if he did overwork himself just to go quicker. Bidding his temporary farewells to the girl, Haruka strolled towards the dorms, humming a little tune to himself.
There was no denying it: even if it had been unintentional and that he hadn’t meant for her to overhear him, the feelings that resided within him were undoubtedly joy. He was so happy that Takane had agreed to go with him even though she would probably rather have stayed home. A date with Takane, huh? “Hehe~” he giggled to himself as he entered the room.
It should technically have been a brief visit. Grabbing a bit of medicine wouldn’t take more than half a minute at most, but Haruka had one more thing he needed to do. Grabbing a slip of chartreuse coloured paper in a small size dedicated to the wishes, the boy quickly scribbled down a few words.
”I wish these peaceful days will continue.
                                                                                                        — Kokonose Haruka.”
He had a ton of things he could wish for, but all summed up that was probably his greatest desire. Satisfied the boy let his thoughts wander off to the girl who was waiting for him. What was Takane going to be wishing for? Well, as long as she was just going to be enjoying herself, that was all that mattered to him, wish or not. Come to think of it, it had been quite a while since they had spent time like this together, just the two of them other than of course those long hours in the classroom back in the days. There were so many things that he wanted to say to her. That he loved how she was always by his side. That he was grateful for everything she always did for him.
"Say, Takane," he called out into the empty room. Gods know where his room mate was at the time - probably out to enjoy himself at the festival. "Did you know that I love you?" Pouring out his heart like this Haruka could feel his cheeks heating up and his heart beating faster. "I always have, even back then. I was so happy… when you showed up here." Still standing with the wish in his hand Haruka looked down at it with a slightly furrowed brow. Saying something like that would be impossible, huh? If he did everything was going to change. He didn’t want to risk losing the relationship with Takane he already had and that was so dear to him. But somehow it still ached in his chest when he thought about it…
No. There was something wrong. A sharp pain suddenly soared through his body and he dropped to his knees with no warning at all. The sweat was forming in beads on his forehead and his breath came out all ragged. Haruka was clutching at his chest desperately as if that was going to help ease up this unbearable pain he was feeling. Why now? Why did he have an attack now of all time? Takane was waiting for him, he had no time to be lying here. He would just end up upsetting her again for making her wait and then make her worry when she realised what happened. The same old pattern. He couldn’t take this anymore. When would it ever come to an end?
Tumblr media
His wish getting all crumpled again his shirt, Haruka dug into his trouser pocket with his free hand and pulled out his phone, shaking fingers desperately trying to find one certain number in the contacts while his vision was quickly getting dark. Ah. There it was. Enomoto Takane. Now he just needed to… call and tell her……
'Sorry Takane, but I won't be able to go with you.'
Before he managed to press the call button the world faded around Haruka and he lost consciousness.

{ ♫ }—; Realizing the embarrassing thing she had just sad her cheeks lit up once again from embarrassment. Why did she have to go and say something like that all of a sudden? She felt like she got a little carried away somehow. Although, she was pleased to see Haruka was glad she agreed to attend with him. It was funny, arranging something like this... Almost sounded like a date. Her face felt warmer simply thinking that. Taking her hands she covered her cheeks shaking her head to get something like that out of her head. J-Jeez... What on earth am I thinking!? There's no way Haruka and I... Ah, there she went again. Always trying to deny the feelings she had already accepted. This was her second chance. She couldn't lose it, not again.
{ ♫ }—; Although to some extent it really did sound like 'A Date'. A boy and a girl who are rather close going to a festival together. Takane hadn't a clue whether or not her feelings were mutual or not. Sometimes she liked to think they were, even if she was doubtful. Someone like her, and someone like him being anything other than friends. It was impossible. At this point Takane tried not to think of how things unravel, as long as they would stay together. It was probably selfish of her to think that way.
{ ♫ }—; Feeling some of the heat from her cheeks leave, she dropped her hands to her side and looked over to him again. Even he seemed to be blushing a bit, although his thoughts were likely more along the lines of being glad his friend would accompany him. A slight smile tugged at her lips again along with a quick nod of her head. "R-Right." she agreed to the thought of them going together. Considering how careless Haruka could be, Takane had a hard time telling what he meant whenever he said even the simplest of things. What his intentions were, what he was thinking about, nothing. She just couldn't pin down what kind of thoughts when through his mind.
{ ♫ }—; To be honest, the festival did actually sound kind of fun. Especially if she was to go with Haruka. Takane would keep that to herself though. Rubbing the back of her head she replied to his excitement over the games and what not. A short chuckle slipped from her lips. "Aha... H-Haruka... When you say it like that it sounds pretty childish." She admitted. It wasn't a bad thing, it just told her all Haruka really wanted was to have a good time at the festival. Aside from that there wasn't much else. Last time she attended a festival it was with him too, it was almost the same scenario except they had their own booth. Haruka was just looking forward to enjoying himself.
Tumblr media
{ ♫ }—; Takane was surprised when he suggested they go.  Just how soon was 'Right away'? Did he mean later tonight, tomorrow, or did he mean literally right now? Blinking a few times she replied."E-Eh..!? S-So soon...? I guess that's fine, I don't have anything planned..." She trailed off a little bit near the end. If she was at home all she would do was fall asleep, or spend the night playing video games. "Er... No I don't mind if you want to stop at the dorm. You know... We could always meet there if it's easier?"
It relieved him a great deal when Takane’s frown seemed to ease up and even a smile appeared on her face, which only made Haruka even more happy. He always accepted every small change in the girl’s personality and those changes in temperament that could occur with only a moment’s notice, but he couldn’t deny that her smiles really managed to draw him in. Maybe it was because of how rare they were. People would probably argue that Haruka’s smiles were the ones affecting people in his company, but to the boy that wasn’t the case at all; sure he tended to keep a generally positive outlook unlike a lot of other people, but other than that he really wasn’t anything special. He couldn’t even do anything for those around him other than bring trouble to them.
Allowed to say what he wanted to do, huh? Something as simple as that seemed almost impossible to the boy who always denied himself to please others. There were a lot of things that he wanted to do, some more illogical than others, but if he could choose… run around and have fun with friends, attend school at a normal pace, go to a sport, go on a trip somewhere far away, live a peaceful live without having to worry. Maybe even hope to spend more time with that special someone. But if he was able to go to a festival to her, that was everything he needed. That was more than what he could hope to ask for.
Tumblr media
Haruka’s cheeks flushed slightly from pure happiness when Takane gave her approval. Although he knew it was unreasonable, he couldn’t help those feelings of joy from swelling up within him, and he nodded eagerly, eyes almost beaming. “Let’s go together then, Takane!” Although he was feeling a slight bit guilty for forcing her along like this when she probably wasn’t much interested, his tone of voice deceived him by being far too merry for such emotions. “I can’t wait~! It sounds like they have so many fun games to play~!” Other than school culture festivals and the occasional small scale one in Kashiwa, Haruka barely had any experience in going, and especially not one where he could spend as much time as he pleased just fooling around. It was really exciting.
At Takane’s inquiry the boy tilted his head in thought. The day was still young and a lot of the major events seemed to be centred around nightfall which left a lot of time to do whatever they pleased at festival grounds. “If you want to, then I wouldn’t mind going right away?” he suggested carefully, uncertain of whether it would be too soon when she had only just been included in the plans in the first place. Maybe she already had the rest of the day planned out and him butting in like this would just be annoying. Even then there was one thing he had to do first. “… But would you mind if I stop by my dorm first?” For some reason he had been feeling a bit weird all day: not exactly unwell, just weird. For now it seemed alright, but if it continued like this until tomorrow he would probably need to call the hospital no matter how much he disliked the idea. Bringing a bit of extra medication along as a precaution seemed like a good idea though as he didn’t wish to take any risks.

{ ♫ }—; Just by looking at the boys face as he went on about the festival anyone could tell he wanted to go. Unlike Haruka, Takane's condition was not nearly as serious. Usually Takane would choose to avoid attending particular events, while Haruka simply was unable to attend. Really Takane should be happy the way she was, and take any opportunities she was given. However that never seemed to be the case. Selfish, grumpy, unapproachable were only some of the traits she had. While she had far more opportunities than Haruka, he was always the one who was constantly smiling.
{ ♫ }—; Ah, it seemed like he actually bought her little bluff though. Hearing him talk with such happiness put her more at ease somehow. Even if he was an idiot who never did what he wanted to do. Takane was a little annoyed with herself for lying in the first place, while at the same time she got to hear Haruka talk about it with such enthusiasm. Although, sometimes seeing him act that way made her heart skip a beat.
{ ♫ }—; Takane exhaled when her friend tried to calm down. Blowing up like that was just unnecessary, but if she hadn't raised her voice her point may not have been so effective. Besides, how was she suppose to calm down when her friend was being a complete moron. Takane was selfish, while Haruka was one of the most selfless people she knew. They were complete opposites. How the two of them had ever managed to become friends was probably weird to anyone who saw them together. After bending enough time with a person they usually end up as close friends. It was irritating above all to see her friend always putting others before himself. To be honest Takane just wanted to make sure Haruka has the best experiences now than he'd ever had, to do that he had to tell people what he wanted.
{ ♫ }—; The corner of her lips curved upwards hearing him finally admit he wanted to attend. He really did need a push like that to finally spit out what he wanted to say. "See? You're allowed to say what you want to do, Haruka. If that's the case then we'll go together." It was funny how quickly her attitude could change. One moment she was yelling, the next she was smiling and laughing. Perhaps it was due to her condition she had these constant mood swings or maybe it was something else... Despite her knowing her own feelings towards Haruka, she still found herself acting like some kind of spoiled brat. Instead of straight up coming out with her feelings she often took out her irritation on someone important to her. Whenever she gets embarrassed, that feeling changes into some kind of anger. When she cares about someone, sometimes that came across as anger as well. Sometimes Takane was afraid with her unnecessary aggression would drive Haruka away, and she wouldn't be able to be by his side anymore. She had already lost him for a while once, and that was that last thing Takane wanted to repeat.
Tumblr media
{ ♫ }—; "So, when did you want to go?"
Oh? She really hadn’t heard anything about it? Somehow that honestly surprised Haruka: even though the news had only just come out, with how huge an arrangement it was people in the city were sure to come to know of it very quickly. Either with the huge amount of fliers he had seen spread throughout both campus and the city, or simply through word of friends who were anticipating the event. On the other hand he could indeed imagine Takane walk straight past all forms of posters there might be around without even sparing them a glance, and honestly neither of them really had a lot of ‘friends’ in this place. Or in any other place. At least he understood that Takane didn’t really talk to many other people as well.
In that case he’d just have to tell her, right? “They’re holding a festival dedicated to Tanabata nearby~” he began, paying little heed to any flustered cheeks or averted gazes the girl might be facing him with. After all that was the Takane he was used to, a part of the many varying expressions she possessed. He enjoyed each and every one of her expressions, so he merely silently appreciated it with a smile. “Apparently it’s going to be huge! They have lots of stalls and food and—”
All of a sudden her shouts cut him off mid-sentence and Haruka shuddered in surprise and blinked a few times, looking at her infuriated face. Of course he should have anticipated that she would yell at him - she always did when he was being indecisive like this - but the loud volume coming from such a small frame always took the fidgety boy unaware. “T-Takane, relax… o-okay?” he tried calming her down, but it did little at stopping her verbal assault. It however quickly ended on its own and she was back to a normal level of voice.
But this girl’s stern words were always what made him make up his mind and stay on course, her lecturing him giving him a feeling that maybe it was okay to place faith in her, that maybe he could actually do this even if he feared his own limitations so greatly. Haruka already knew it: he could probably do a lot more than what he allowed himself to, but it was the fear that should he just overwork himself in the least that would be it. He would be right back to square one if he even survived. That knowledge was absolutely terrifying, so it was much easier for him to shy away and simply settling for a bare minimum. But this was okay. Takane was there, he wanted to go with her, he wanted to have fun with her. Maybe it was okay to be a bit selfish for a change.

"… Got it. Takane is right, I really want to go. And if you want to go with me then I’d be really happy."

{ ♫ }—; The moment some random stranger had opened the file that smirk on her face sharpened. That certainly took long enough. Whoever this poor innocent person was, Ene was going to be sure they took her to the festival. A greeting was certainly in order though, right? After the file had been opened Ene manifested on the strangers phone. The blue haired girl flashed a bright smile at the boy. "Hello there!" she said in her usual chipper tone, although it seems the boy couldn't find the source of the voice. "Hey, hey! I'm right here!" Trying to get his attention she waved her arms up and down. He didn't seem to be all that observant. To think just a moment ago he had been staring at his phone as if eagerly awaiting something interesting to happen. The pixelated girl puffed her cheeks out and pouted "How rude..." she muttered. Without any luck in getting his attention, she made it vibrate ceaselessly until he finally looked down at the phone.
Tumblr media
{ ♫ }—; Once his eyes had focused on the screen she folded her arms and turned her head away from him. "Hmph! Kid, that took you pretty long to notice. It's impolite to ignore people you know!" She scolded him, still pursing her lips in a pout. "Hm... I guess I could forgive you, just this once! But you owe me for this, okay? Make sure you remember!" Although her words perhaps sounded rather blunt, her intent was  actually completely playful. Though this boy was rude for ignoring her in the first place, if he took her to the festival she would let this one thing go. Flashing him another bright smile she figured an introduction was in order. "I'm Ene! Who're you?"

{ ♫ }—; To think of all the times she could have overheard him, it was the one time he said something like that. Takane was still trying to hide her blushing cheeks by looking to the side. Of course acting such a way made it quite obvious. Real smooth Takane. Even now Takane was still trying to wrap her head around what he had just said. He definitely said that, she was sure of it. Takane was having a hard time figuring out, what he meant. She was well aware she was probably hoping for a stretch. Haruka and Takane were just friends after all, surely he was just thinking he wanted to go to the festival with someone. Takane was his friend, of course he would want to go somewhere like that with his friend. It both irritated her and exhausted her. What a dense guy.
{ ♫ }—; Ah, it seemed Haruka hadn't really meant for her to overhear that. He really was a selfless guy, huh? Surely he was thinking about Takane's feelings not his own. Finally getting herself together she managed to glance over to him. "Tanabata Festival? I'm not sure, I might've heard some people talking about it." Might've, she said. Of course she had heard of it, she had been thinking about it for a while now. But for whatever reason she felt the need to put some sort of cool and collected face around Haruka whenever possible. She wanted to smack herself for saying something like that, it just made her sound less interested in going with him. I'm an idiot.
{ ♫ }—; The moment he started going on about how fun it would be to go to festival, she felt selfish for acting like a spoiled brat. Takane knew he was excited about it, but somehow he sounded uncertain. He had always been like this. When he wanted to do something, he'd ignore his own wishes thinking he would cause trouble for someone else. Every time he did it, Takane got angry.
Tumblr media
{ ♫ }—; Clenching her fist tried to contain her irritation. "Well which is it!?" Her voice raised a significant amount. Swivelling her head around she looked right at him. Takane grit her teeth trying to calm herself down. "Are you stupid!? If you want to go to the festival, then go!! Besides I never said I didn't want to go, right!?" Still with her voice raised she continued. Somehow, this was Takane's attempt at saying she wanted to go with him. Jeez, why was she like this? She really didn't have to get so rilled up. Letting out a loud sigh she calmed herself down. "S-So... If you do want to go, just say so." her voice softened, and another tint of pink formed at her cheeks.
Just as the words had left his mouth that one very familiar voice sounded behind him, calling out to him (or at least attempting to had the name not been cut off midway). It was no lie that Haruka really wanted to go to the festival - how could he not want to? - but it was nothing more than wishful thinking. Of course he couldn’t help but long for the fireworks he’d see through the windows or all the festival fun other people at school would be talking and laughing about for days to come, but it was unreasonable for him to desire to go himself. That was why he always locked away this with a smile and an ‘it can’t be helped’, just as he usually did.
So when Takane took him by surprise, having very evidently overheard his careless musings, Haruka’s mind went into a state of slight panic. Takane of all people was the last person he’d want to inconvenience, even more so considering how much he’d already done it in the past, but there was absolutely no way that this girl was going to accept some half-hearted excuse, so he began a bit nervously.
Tumblr media
"The Tanabata festival. Surely Takane has heard about it, right?" Well, it would be almost impossible to remain ignorant with how everyone seemed to be talking about it. "I was just thinking that it could be really fun to go, especially if you’re there Takane… but I guess something like that would be impossible huh? It would just end up becoming a bother after all."

{ ♫ }—; Actually festival sounded like a fun idea. Of course there would be many things to do at such a place, although given her current place... The only thing she really could do at this place was "play" with other people. "Fufufufu..." A mischievous giggle slipped out of her lips. Of course Ene would love to be able to participate in festival activities, but as a cyber programme that just wasn't possible. If she could convince someone to bring her to the festival, Ene would be overjoyed with that alone. Perhaps there was a harmless file on someone's phone was just waiting to be opened. The moment they did open it, well, Ene would be sure to convince them to bring her to the festival. Whether they wanted to go or not.

{ ♫ }—; If she wasn't mistaken due to all the students and other residence of Bunkyo there was suppose to be a festival occurring for the next little while. "Tanabata Festival, huh?" she muttered to herself. Takane wasn't one to attend such events although she did remember enjoying herself at a festival with Haruka a while back. Without a doubt a careless guy like Haruka would want to go, he probably didn't get to go to them all that often with his illness. She wanted Haruka to be able to have as much fun as he could... Though she wasn't going to say that.
{ ♫ }—; There was a part of her that wanted to ask if he would go with with her, but there was no way she could ask such an embarrassing thing herself. Another part of her wished Haruka would ask her to go with him. "N-N-No way that's happening... J-Jeez.." A pink tinted at her cheeks simply thinking about it. Haruka was also the kind of person who wouldn't always straight up say he wanted to go, especially knowing Takane wasn't too fond of festivals. Brushing off such thoughts she rubbed the back of her head. Continuing on her way, she immediately recognized the taller male. "Haru—..." Stopping midway through her sentence she overheard him talking to himself.
"I wonder if Takane would want to go with me~…"
{ ♫ }—; Her eyes widened hearing those words come from his mouth, she felt her heart beating a little faster just hearing that. Wh-Wh-What the...!? The previous pink tinted on her cheeks darkened and her face felt warm. The thing she should be doing was calming herself down, but instead she continued asking herself questions. Wh-What's he talking about? The festival..? W-Wait there's no way he'd— Several thoughts darted through her head until she finally managed to somewhat regain her composure. Taking a deep breath before speaking, her gaze shifted away from him to attempt hiding her blushing.
Tumblr media
{ ♫ }—;  "G-Go with you where..?"
Tumblr media
"A Tanabata festival?" That sounded like it was going to be really really fun! Haruka couldn’t wait to go and see all the festivities and tie a wish to the tree. Surprisingly enough he didn’t have any problems thinking up what to write for his wish as that was pretty much clear to him already, but another matter entirely was preoccupying his mind.
"I wonder if Takane would want to go with me~…"
