Chapter 5: The Complexity of “You probably think that you are better now”

Summary: Nat finds out something very interesting. Steve has a date and at the end they meet each other in an elevator. What could go wrong?

Sneak peek: The door opened soundless and Steve almost stumbled over Natasha. Luckily Natasha had great reflexes and dodged him with her all-known grace."Always nice and slow, Rogers", she spoke as she leaned against the wall opposite from him and crossed her arms over her chest.He copied her movements and also leaned back. "It’s not my fault you’re so small Romanoff", he shoot back and had to bite back a grin.She crooked one perfect eyebrow and her eyes slid up and down his body, he could see how the heat in her eyes formed. He had missed her."That’s more words in one sentence than everything I heard from you the past weeks."Now it was Steve’s time to look at her reproachfully. You don’t have to tell me that Nat…"It's not just me", he more mumbled to himself than to her.

Since when do you ship romanogers?

I ship them since I watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2016, their chemistry blowed my mind away. 

(Before Captain America: Civil War I didn’t even knew that there was a second movie of Captain America: The First Avenger, but I noticed that there was something between the two even before CATWS.)

I looked at them the whole movie and thought ���Okay, if they won’t give them any sexual tension release, I might scream” and then the undercover kiss came and I freaked out. 

They teased us with the potential they could had. They’re like opposites side from each other, she the flirty spy with many secrets who is much more than an assassin and he the golden boy, the hero of the nation who has struggle to adapt to the new times. The end got me crazy, I never saw Natasha open up to someone besides Clint and my heart bled as their paths separated.

After that I threw myself into fanfics. You can’t imagine how happy and excited I was after I saw that on Ao3 were over 3000 works with the tag Steve Rogers/Natasha Romanoff uploaded, again I freaked out and consumed every story I could find. I’m sure I’ve read every single one-shot, every multi-chapter story on Ao3 and I loved every one of it.

That was the beginning of my passion for these two.

Story You Were Nervous to Post: As well You probably think that you are better now. My first story I ever posted and I was (and still am) nervous about it, because English isn't my first language and I’m afraid to embarrass myself with stupid mistakes.

How Do You Choose Your Titles: By the source I got inspired. Often parts of lyrics of a song that plant an idea in my head to write about. 

Do You Outline:  Nope. And sometimes it’s a fucking mess. I usually sit down at my laptop late at night, turn on my music and just start writing. The only "outline" that I have are my moodboards that I create before I even start a new chapter. They are virtually my common thread that I stick to.

Idea:

Steve has to forget this break up with Peggy (she broke up because she wants to concentrate on studying and can’t afford any distraction)

goes a night out with his boys Bucky, Sam and Clint

They drink and have fun (first interaction with random women, Steve makes an excuse to refuse their invitation)

In the club he loses his friends on the dance floor (he doesn’t care about it) and dances alone in the crowd

Somehow he spots Natasha (he‘s dancing, she‘s standing at the bar)

she clearly flirts with him with gazes and other actions (mhmm very mysterious)

Even tho earlier he didn’t want to get in trouble with girls, he has to have her (he doesn’t ’t know why)

and because he‘s slightly drunk and frustrated, he makes his way through the people to get to her

Why? Because I listened to this minimal techno song that won’t leave my mind and it reminds me of the times I went to a club where I completely lost myself in the music. Even tho the plot didn’t happened to me (unfortunately lol), it inspired be to write this. The tension in the song and the lyrics made me to want to write smut... and at the same time I can learn (can I say that?) to write smut that it won’t be that cringy in my main story.

While I’m writing, I noticed that in German there are so much more synonyms for one word (my native language is German). I feel like the German vocabulary is at least twice as big as the English one and it kinda sucks to not write everything down how I want it lol

Summary: Steve comes home after his night with Sharon. Natasha wakes up in a bed that is not hers. We learn more about Natasha.
