Hii! I’m here to request! Reader is an agent who likes to play soccer and Natasha is a doctor at SHIELD. Reader injures her knee at a game and Natasha has to take care of her, but the injury and the recovery makes Reader mean and grumpy testing Natasha’s patience and their relationship/friendship (whatever you like). Thank you!!!
Hi thank you for the request. I’m sorry but I won’t be writing this one as I only write Natasha with MCU accuracy ❤️

Moving | SJ | CJ

Summary: You struggle to adjust to your new house and neighbourhood
Request: After having roes Scarlett realize that the house is too small and they need to move. The reader is 8-9 and is also autistic so she has trouble with change, when Scarlett tells her that they have to move the reader gets really upset and starts having a fit because she doesn’t want to move. The reader refuses to talk to her and keeps ignoring her.
Word Count: 3k
Warnings/Content: Autistic meltdown (written from personal experience with my own autism)
———————————————————————
“Up we go Rosie” Scarlett squealed as she lifted her youngest daughter up into her high chair “Y/n?” She called out to you. “I’m here mommy!” You beamed as you came skipping into the kitchen. “I almost thought you were gonna be late for dinner” your mom said as she helped you to quickly wipe down your hands. “No mommy I’m never late! I have to follow my routine to stay regulated” you said firmly as you climbed up onto your reserved seat. “That’s right sweetheart” Scarlett said as she began helping your sister with her food. “I was almost late because I had to climb over the boxes” you said unfazed as you dug into your pasta. “I’m sorry darling I know it’s been a bit of a squeeze lately, I’ll get those boxes moved as soon as I can ok” your mom frowned.
Since having Rose your mom and Colin have realised how tight their cozy home has become. When it was the three of you things were just right but babies come with a lot of gear, most of the hallways were stacked up with empty boxes and piles of toys. Colin had suggested that soon it might be time to move Rose into your room so the two of you could share, but Scarlett knew you wouldn’t like it. The issue ran deeper than you just not liking it, you struggled a lot with change and it was important that your bedroom remained your safe space. You were diagnosed with autism when you were 5, your parents knew you weren’t trying to be difficult but it did hurt to know that you didn’t like being around your sister that much. But Scarlett and Colin had faith that one day the two of you would click, your brain just needed a little extra time to catch up to the change.
Dinner went by in a flash, you yapping away while Scarlett enjoyed being in the company of both her girls. Colin arrived home while you were helping your mom wash up after dinner. “Daddy!” You cheered as you ran up to him for a cuddle, almost dropping the plate you were supposed to be drying. “Saved by your father again” Scarlett smirked, knowing that the only reason you offered to help clean up after dinner was to see Colin. And knowing that he would inevitably save you from the tedious chore. “Is Rose sleeping?” Colin asked “yeah she went down a little while ago” Scarlett said. “Ok, I’ll go see her quickly, then how about we get you ready for bed sweetheart” your father asked as he placed you back on the floor with care. “Ok daddy” you smiled, brushing over the fabric of his sleeve. “Y/n there’s a few plates that’s need drying while you wait for your dad” Scarlett said, turning back to wash the dishes. “No thank you” you smiled as you slipped happily upstairs to your bedroom. Your parents chuckled at your antics. “Babe, when y/n’s asleep do you think we could talk?” Scarlett asked her husband. “Yeah, is everything ok?” Colin said. “I’ll explain once you’ve put y/n to bed” the blonde smiled.
“Hi baby girl!” Scarlett beamed as you came running towards her. “Hi mama!” You cheered. “Did you have a good day at school?” Your mom asked as she carried you back to the car. “Yeah, I read an entire book today with Miss Parker!” You exclaimed, excited by your achievement. “Oh y/n that’s wonderful I’m so proud of you! Did you read with any of the other kids?” Scarlett asked as she finished buckling you into your car seat. “No, it was just me and my teacher” you replied, voice falling a little flat. Your mom kissed your forehead gently “that’s okay, your friends are out there somewhere sweetheart I promise” Scarlett frowned. “So y/n, Rosie is with grandma tonight and Colin’s at home already so what do you say the three of us have a movie night?” Your mom asked as she started the car. “Yeah” you cheered happily.
You were happily enjoying your one on one time with your parents. You loved your sister but you also loved having all the attention. The credits has just rolled on Sing you had been begging your mom to watch it with you and though she wasn’t thrilled about it, your smiles made it worthwhile. “Sing 2, Sing 2!” You demanded, bouncing on your knees atop the springs of your parent’s mattress. “Alright sweetheart try to settle down hm?” Colin coaxed, the pair never stopped you from stimming, your dad was just concerned for your safety. “We’ll watch Sing 2 in a little while okay but first, mommy and I need to talk to you about something ok?” Colin asked. “Ok” you muttered, slightly worried. “It’s nothing scary baby but it is important so do you want your fidget to help you concentrate?” Scarlett asked as she lifted you into her lap, rubbing up and down your arms to settle you slightly. “Yes please mommy” you said.
Your fidget bracelet was placed in your hand and you played with it gently before smiling up at your parents, letting them know you were ready to listen. “So sweetie, you know how since having your sister the house has gotten really busy, and there’s not much space anymore?” Colin asked you, you nodded politely. “Well we’ve decided that we’re gonna move houses. We’re gonna move somewhere with more space” Scarlett said, as you looked up at her from your seat on her lap. “A new house?” You questioned. “Yeah” your parents both mumbled, their voices colliding. “I don’t want to” you frowned. “I know it’s a big change baby but nothing’s set in place yet so there’s lots of time to prepare and we’ll keep you updated with absolutely everything alright?” Your mom told you, still running her fingers across your arms.
“No I don’t want a new house. I want this house” you whimpered, discarding your fidget toy to instead pull at your hair. “Hey, it’s ok sweetheart” Colin said as she took hold of your hands, attempting to redirect them. “Nooo!” You wined, pulling your hands away from your father as they began to shake violently. “Y/n look at mommy” Scarlett said as she pulled you off her lap and placing you in front of her. “Think about all the space you’ll have yeah? Loads more room to dance and maybe we can even set you and Rose up with a playroom?” Your mom cooed, attempting to distract you. “No!” You yelled, falling down on the bed and kicking the mattress with your feet. “Baby it’s ok” Scarlett said, she knew the news would be difficult for you but she didn’t think it would send you into a full blown meltdown.
“Y/n” your mom sighed as you continued to cry, your hands tight against your ears. Scarlett wanted nothing more than to comfort you, her hand ghosted over your frame as she watched on sadly. “Come on Scarlett” Colin said, pulling his wife away softly “you gotta let her do it” he sighed. Trial and error had discovered that not intervening with your meltdowns was the best way to deal with them, although it killed Scarlett to see you in so much pain and not be able to just wrap you up in her arms. Your parents did what they could in these moments, reducing the noice and the light and making sure you had water and a comfort snack for after.
Your meltdown went on for a while, you continued to cry and smack the mattress you were lying atop. Scarlett couldn’t bare to see you like this, she wished more than anything she could fix it for you even though that’s what she was trying to do. Colin continued to comfort his wife, until you began throwing yourself backwards against the bed. You would sit up sharply and in the same second slam your body headfirst into your parent’s pillow. Scarlett was gone from Colin’s grip before he could blink and your mommy was by your side. “Come here sweetheart” she said as she attempted to lift you into her arms. When your meltdowns became self injurious your mom and dad had no choice but to intervene. “No!” You yelled as you flinched from Scarlett’s grip “don’t want you want daddy!” You cried.
“Daddy’s here baby” Colin cooed as he came to pick you up, you seemed to calm instantly at his presence. “Mommy’s here too” your dad whispered beside your ear, not wanting to overwhelm your senses. “No only dada” you whimpered, stimming with the loose thread of Colin’s shirt. Scarlett’s eyes filled with tears but she decided to step away, if you wanted your dad and not her then that’s what she would give you. Your mom headed down the hall to the guest room, collapsing on the bed in sobs. She was trying to make things better for you but had only managed to make it worse. It was late when Colin finally got you to sleep, it was a struggle getting you through bath time while your nervous system was still so overwhelmed. By the time you were in your pjs you had gone almost entirely non verbal, only managing to whine and dismiss a goodnight kiss from your mom.
You continued to ignore Scarlett for the next two weeks, you hadn’t said a single word to her you wouldn’t even let her hug you. You stuck closely to Colin, following him around the house and screaming in pure distress when his attention drifted to Rose. You were having daily meltdowns and your parents were drowning in the chaos of their home. Most nights, Scarlett stood silently at your door, watching you sleep. She wanted nothing more than to run in and scoop you up but she respected your boundaries even though it was breaking her heart. Colin was also struggling, he was a perfectionist at dividing his time between his girls but in order to avoid your meltdowns he had no choice but to put you first every minute of every day. No one was angry with you, not your dad, not your mom, not even Rose. Your parents had to resort to packing late into the night, you still hadn’t accepted that you were moving. Change was hard for you, it was going to take time for your brain to process it.
Moving day finally arrived and it took Colin 50 minutes to convince you to let go of the staircase banister, you didn’t want to leave. You were still ignoring Scarlett and if her appearance was anything to go by, she wasn’t coping. Her hair remained unwashed and shoved back into a messy bun, she had bags under her eyes big enough to carry the world. You however, hadn’t noticed, you weren’t even looking at her anymore. It wasn’t that you were mad at her, maybe you were deep down, but right now you just wanted your dad. Scarlett knew that, she knew that you weren’t hurting her on purpose, your actions were a result of your autism and your mom never let your autism define you.
You arrived at the new house and remained much displeased, although the house itself was beautiful. You still wanted your old one. Scarlett was left to look after Rose and begin unpacking while you demanded that Colin set up your new bedroom. He stayed up all night with you unpacking and decorating your room. It was better for everyone if your space took first priority so you could adjust to the change as soon as possible. You were pleasantly surprised with your new bedroom, it was a light green and there was much more space around your sensory swing, your room even had its own bathroom. Once you were somewhat settled, you closed the door and refused to leave. It took your dad hours to convince you to come downstairs for dinner, and you only agreed if it was just the two of you.
Your absence over the first few week in the new house had also gained Rose’s attention. She was much less settled than usual, and she was constantly reaching for you in the rare moments that you appeared from your room. Despite showing your face, you weren’t talking much. Not to Rose. Not to Scarlett and not even to Colin. There was however once person you were speaking too. Just a few doors down was a family, two moms with two girls. One was a teenager but the other was the same age as you, Tilly, she was even in your class at school. You had been hanging out the weekends, often playing on Tilly’s swing set. Scarlett would watch from the upstairs window, she was just able to catch a glance of the neighbours garden. She wouldn’t leave her spot at the windowsill, glancing down in awe at the sight of you playing with a friend. You didn’t have any in the old neighbourhood.
Making friends had always been hard for you. You would come home most night in tears, not understand why the other kids didn’t want to play you. Your mom said it was because you were different, but not the bad kind of different. She said it was the kind of different that meant your people would be harder to find, but it also meant that they would be 10 times more special. “Hey babe” Colin said as he came into the room, a fresh coffee in his hand “Rose is down for her nap” he smiled. “Scarlett?” He questioned when the blonde didn’t responded right away. “Sorry” she said, turning her head back quickly to see her husband. “I’m gonna go pick up y/n, I’ll be back in a few” your dad said. “Wait, can’t you go in like 10 minuets?” Scarlett frowned “I don’t want it to be over yet” she said as she looked back outside. Colin came to join her and the pair watched as you and Tilly ran around the grass, either playing tag or just racing with each other. “I’ll go in 15” your dad chuckled.
You seemed to be adjusting well to the new house and the new neighbourhood, although you were still avoiding your mom. A few nights ago you had started to feel guilty about it, you thought you might ask her for a hug, but when you found her you felt frozen. She was busy playing with Rose and you didn’t want her to be mad at you for interrupting, you had already been mean to her. She probably hated you now. When nightfall came and you had struggled through your nighttime routine, you couldn’t sleep. You were tossing and turning for hours until eventually you decided you wanted your mama. You tiptoed to her room, pushing down on the handle as quietly as possible. “Mommy?” You whispered as you stepped inside. Scarlett was awake instantly “baby are you ok?” She asked, hope filling her belly. “Cuddle please” you whimpered.
Your mom didn’t waste a second, jumping out of her bed and rushing to your side, jolting Colin awake in the process. “Oh sweetie come here” Scarlett cooed, bundling you into her arms. You’re not sure why, but the action made you burst into tears. Colin approached slowly, but he knew you and Scarlett needed this time together so opted to sit at the end of the bed. “I’m sorry” you sobbed. “Oh baby no, no, no you have nothing to be sorry for” your mom said as she picked you up, bringing you over to her and Colin’s bed. “I’ve been bad” you hiccuped, running your fingers along the kinks of Scarlett’s braid. “Oh y/n you haven’t been bad” the blonde hummed, bringing her braid over her shoulder so you had easier access to it. “Been ignoring you, but I didn’t mean it, I don’t know why. Just wanted dada but now I want you” you cried.
Scarlett pulled you tighter, cradling you in her lap “and that’s ok sweetheart” she said. “I know all this change has been really hard on you. Your emotions and your brain told you that you needed daddy so that’s who you went to and that is always ok. I missed you lots and lots but what matters to me most y/n is that you feel safe. So I will never be mad at you for seeking out someone else” Scarlett told you, tears breaching her eyes. “I missed you too mama” you sniffled “and I always feel safe with you” you smiled. “Good” Scarlett grinned, slowly rocking you in her arms. You started to calm down almost instantly at the motion and the pressure of your mom’s arms. “You wanna go back to sleep sweetheart?” Scarlett asked you. “Can I sleep in your bed?” You shyly asked, looking up at the blonde through your fluttering lashes. “Of course” your mom said.
Scarlett got comfortable with you laying across her chest, Colin also climbed back into bed with you both. “Mommy, I really like our new house. And I really like Tilly” you said, eyes already slowly closing. “Oh y/n that makes me so happy” Scarlett smiled, wrapping her arms around you and holding you close. “She’s really kind mama and I like when we play picnic” you mumbled. “And the trampoline huh bug?” Colin suddenly said, pulling the duvet over the three of you. “Shhh daddy, I’m talking to mommy” you demanded as you sat up to look at him. “Yes ma’am” Colin giggled, switching off the beside lamp and falling into his pillow. Scarlett struggled to hide her laughter at your sassy attitude, but she knew you got it from her so she could never be mad at you for it. You collapsed back onto your mommy’s chest and continued to ramble about your new bedroom and your new best friend. You talked until you fell asleep, and Scarlett listened to each and every word, thankful to have you back in her arms again.

Auntie Yelena | NR | YB
WSEO Drabble

Summary: you meet your auntie for the first time
Mid pt 10
Word Count: 765
Warnings/Content: none I believe
———————————————————————
Your leg bounced anxiously until Joey gently placed his head in your lap, dropping his ears and peaking up at you. “I’m okay boy” you said as you brushed over his fur making Joey wag his tail with joy. Today you were meeting your mom’s sister for the first time. Natasha had spoken about Yelena before and a few weeks ago the two had reunited to take down the red room.
You’d been so anxious the last month. You and your mom had both thought that the red room was gone and discovering it was still active had sent you spiralling. You begged your mom not to go back there and it took a lot of convincing for you to let her go the day she left for Budapest. Clint was giving you daily updates while you stayed with him and your extending family. The day you heard from Natasha that Dreykov was dead was the day you felt you could finally breathe again.
But now your nerves were back as you patiently waited for your aunties arrival. Natasha said Yelena was excited to meet you, she couldn’t stop talking about you with her sister and the blonde seemed just as invested in you as she was. Joey perked up at the sound of the doorbell but instantly settled back into your lap when he felt your heartbeat race. “Hi sestra” your mom beamed as she opened the front door, Yelena crashing into her arms, still in disbelief that she had her sister back.
“Where is my niece!” The blonde excitedly cheered. “She’s in the living room, just remember what we talked about okay. Let her take the lead on how she wants to greet you and just be a little calmer ok?” Natasha said, stern voice and sharp eyes. “Yes yes I know, I’ve been doing my research” Yelena said handing over her many bags to the redhead. Yelena had been reading up on autism for past week, she didn’t really understand what it was but she wanted to make sure that she knew how to interact with you, she didn’t want you to dislike her.
You stood up as a wave of blonde hair entered your vision. “Yelena this is y/n, y/n this is my sister, your auntie” Natasha said as she followed being the younger widow. “Hi y/n, I ugh, I’ve heard loads about you” Yelena mumbled. “Hi” you whispered as you held out your hand in greeting. “This is Joey” you said as you ruffled the husky’s hair. “Ah the support dog, so he like helps you out with the meltdowns and stuff right?” The blonde asked. “Yel” Natasha gritted. “Sorry” Yelena awkwardly giggled “it’s fine” you giggled back. You liked that Yelena didn’t avoid the subject.
“Natasha go and get the bags” the blonde demanded. “As polite as ever Yelena” the older widow said with raised eyebrows. “You can say hi to Joey if you want” you said as you noticed the blondes wandering eyes. “Watch her y/n, it’s a well known fact that Yelena wants a dog. Look away and Joey might be gone” your mom said as she carried Yelena’s bags into the room. “No no, I wouldn’t take Joey. I’d steal someone else’s dog but not my nieces” the blonde said as she accepted Joeys kissed. You giggled at her antics.
“Sestra what is in these bags?” Natasha asked with a huff. “Presents of course, 12 of them. One for every birthday I didn’t get to spoil my niece” Yelena said as she settled on the couch. “Oh so should I be expecting 20 gifts any day now?” Your mom asked. “Oh no definitely not” the blonde said, reaching in her backpack for the half eaten bag of salted chips. “Did you really get all these for me?” You sheepishly asked as you sat back on the couch. “Mhm” Yelena mumbled with her mouth full of snacks “I’ve been googling my new duties as an aunt and everything I read said I am to spoil you rotten, let you stay up way past your bedtime and drop of you off with a bottle of vodka at the party your mother has forbidden you to attended” Yelena smiled. “I’ll just pretend I didn’t hear that last one” your mom smirked.
You really liked Yelena, and you were excited to see what life would be like with an auntie. The blonde was certain to let you break every rule and teach you swear and judging by her thoughtful and luxurious gifts, she was defiantly going to spoil you rotten.

Monster Under The Bed | SJ

Summary: Scarlett comforts you through your night terrors
Request: Could you do the reader is Scarlett daughter who is like 6-7 and keeps waking up in the middle of the night screaming having night terrors and Scarlett beings there to help comfort her
Word Count: 522
Warnings/Content: Night terrors
———————————————————————
Scarlett shot up from her slumber after hearing your cries, unfortunately the shock of the situation had long ago left. This was your fourth night terror. “Mommy help!” You cried out. Scarlett’s heart ached as she scrambled out of bed to be at your side. Her mind was plagued by the image of your tiny body thrashing, and the sound of your little heart beating. If there was one positive your mother could find in all of this, you didn’t remember. After each terror, each cry and each shout you’d fall right back to sleep or simply sit up in the rubble of your duvet wondering why she was there. The doctor said this was normal, young children often experienced night terrors but eventually they’ll grow out of it, he had told Scarlett.
Your mom arrived at your bedroom on auto pilot, switching on your lamp and opening your curtains to allow the nighttime breeze inside. You cried out into the silence of 2am as Scarlett pulled you up into her arms “it’s okay baby, mommy’s here” she soothed. Your little body continued to fight the silhouettes dancing around your brain. Your eyes shot open as you let out a sob, reaching for the arms that were wrapped tightly around you. Your mom was startled by your outburst, confused as to why you continued to cry after waking up. “Mama” you whimpered “I’m here, I’m here” Scarlett soothed as she guided your head towards her chest.
It wasn’t unusual for you to wake up after a night terror, but your memory of the event was uncommon. “It was scary mommy” you cried “what was baby?” Scarlett asked. “You were gone” you muttered through broken breaths “in my dream - you were gone” you said. “Have you had other nasty dreams like that sweetheart?” Your mom asked. “I don’t know” you mumbled. “That’s ok, the doctor said that’s normal, you remember?” Scarlett asked, now rocking you back and forth in her arms. “That I might not remember my scary dreams?” You questioned. “Yeah that’s right” your mom said laying a kiss on your forehead. “I like it better when I can’t remember” you whispered with a wobbly lip. “Is it making you worried that you knew what was happening tonight?” The blonde asked you. You nodded and leaned in closer to your mom. “You wanna sleep in mamas bed?” Scarlett said, already knowing the answer. “Yes please” you said.
Your mom kept you in her bed for the next few nights as you were too afraid to sleep on your own. Scarlett had hardly slept, watching you closely until her eyes forced her body to rest, but you were peaceful throughout every night. It wasn’t supposed to become a habit but eventually you couldn’t remember the last time you’d slept in your own bed. Soon the night terrors became a distant memory as well. It seemed that all you needed to rid your mind of anxiety was your mom. Scarlett told you every night and every morning just how much she loved you, and she promised that she wasn’t going anywhere. Not ever.

Another Mother | Part Six

Summary: your dad has to work on your birthday so Scarlett tries to make your day as special as it can be
Word Count: 2.1k
Warnings/Content: a bit of sad reader
———————————————————————
It’s been two months since your blow up. A series of events that built up over time and caused you to completely break down, but things have been different since then. You and your dad have grown so close, constantly sharing new stories about your mom and remembering all the ones you already knew. In some strange way, you felt even closer to your mother now, despite her being gone. Scarlett was also an active participant in these conversations, a silent comfort of sorts. School was going well too, your grades had improved and all your teachers had reported a huge boost in your mood. You were a hard worker, when you put your mind to something it happened, no matter what it was or how hard it was. Colin was so proud that you were finally putting your effort into the right things. Your relationship with Scarlett still wasn’t great, but it was certainly better than what it had been. You could have an open conversation with her without internally cringing now and the blonde had hope that things would only continue to get better. Everything was going well. Until it wasn’t.
“How long will you be gone for?” Scarlett asked. “Just a week” Colin said. “And you can’t get out of it?” The blonde questioned, trying to keep the corners of her lips from forming too much of a frown. “It’s a work seminar I can’t skip it” your father huffed, noticing your deflated shoulders. “What kind of seminar does a comedian need to attend?” Your dad’s fiancé said. “The bosses at SNL want me to go alright, and who knows maybe they’ll be impressed” Colin answered. “You’re gonna miss my birthday” you whispered from the corner of the room. Colin and Scarlett fell silent. “I…I know honey, I’m sorry I’ll make it up to you okay” your dad said as he came to your side, placing a hand on your shoulder. You pushed his hand away and shot up from the couch “it’s my first birthday without mom and now you’re not gonna here either” you huffed “do you enjoy making my life miserable?” You questioned, tears in your eyes. “Y/n” Scarlett sighed “no, no you don’t get to have a say in this” you sniffled, avoiding eye contact with both people in front of you. “I’m going upstairs” you said.
Your birthday crept up on you silently and in the week leading up your dad had tried to soothe the ache of his coming absence. “What about a party? I’m sure your friends would be thrilled to be invited to Scarlett Johansson’s house” Colin said. “CJ?” The blonde murmured, not willing to open up her home to strangers. “Ok a party at the pizza place?” Your father sighed. “Dad” you groaned, sick to death of his suggestions. “I’m sorry sweetheart I’m just trying to think of how to make this birthday better for you” Colin said. “You know how to make it better, but work comes before me right? Just like always” you frowned. Your father was lost, he didn’t know how to make things better for you and before you knew it you and Scarlett were dropping him off at the airport. “Bye baby” the blonde said, passionately kissing your dad on the lips. It was still strange to see Colin kissing someone new, but you knew he was happy and you tried to remind yourself of that. “And you, be good okay” your dad said, pulling you into a tight hug. “Yeah” you sighed. “Have a good birthday” he sadly smiled “whatever” you shrugged. You and Scarlett waved goodbye to Colin as he disappeared into the airport. The blonde wrapped her arm around you and for some reason you felt yourself fall into her warmth. “Let’s go home” Scarlett said.
You were dozing contently when your phone buzzed yet again, you smiled as you reached for the mobile, excited to see who had sent the latest message. Your grin faded as you eyed the screen. A soft knock at the door brought you back to reality and a wave of blonde hair rounded the corner after you invited her in. “Morning sweetie, happy birthday!” Scarlett said as she revealed the pink sprinkled doughnuts in her hand, a single candle lit above the top sitting one. “Thanks Scarlett” you softly chuckled, accepting the food as she passed it over. “15 hey! You wanna make a wish or is that not cool for someone your age anymore?” The blonde smiled as she took a welcomed seat on your bed. “I don’t think I ever made birthday wishes, but thank you” you said as you quietly blew out the candle and set the doughnuts on your night stand. “Your dad left some presents, they’re in the kitchen. You wanna open them now or after you see your friends?” Scarlett asked. “Ugh maybe later I don’t know” you shrugged. “Ok what time are you going out do you need a ride?” The actress asked, standing back to her feet. “Um, I’m not sure” you flatly said, running your fingers along your arm. Scarlett came back to your bed and sat close by, she raised an eyebrow, telling you she knew that something was wrong. “My friends cancelled” you muttered “all of them.”
“Oh babe” the blonde sighed, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. Surprisingly, you fell into Scarlett’s embrace allowing her to wrap her arms tightly around you as you began to cry. “Hey, hey, no, we can’t have you crying on your birthday” your dad’s girlfriend said “it’s ok darling, it’ll be ok” she comforted. You pulled back with a damp eyes and reached for a doughnut to soothe the ache in your heart. Scarlett couldn’t help but sadly chuckle as you took a bite of your food with immense attitude. “I’m sorry about your friends y/n” the blonde frowned. “Is there anything else you wanna do today?” She asked. You thought for a moment “um, I don’t think so. I- I think I’ll just stay home” you sniffled, finally rising from your mountain of blankets and pillows. Scarlett watched as you dragged your feet towards the door “are you sure sweetheart?” She said. “Yeah, yeah” you said, grabbing fresh clothes from your closet “I’ll just chill here and watch some movies or something” you falsely smiled. “I’m gonna take a shower” you said as you disappeared into the hallway.
You took a long hot shower in the hopes the warmth would soothe your aching heart, it didn’t. You emerged from the bathroom after an hour and Scarlett called you from the bottom of the stairs. “Get dressed and meet me outside in 10 minuets ok?” She half asked half told you. You thought about questioning her, but whatever it was that she wanted it was something to do. “I need 20” you eventually replied. “Ok, I’ll meet you out the front” the blonde smiled. You threw on your favorite jeans and old oasis shirt before making quick work of your hair and makeup. As requested, you met Scarlett outside at the bottom of the driveway “get in” she smiled as she opened the passenger door of her car. “Where are we going?” You asked “you’ll see” the actress replied, tapping the car door as an attempt to entice you. “What the hell” you smirked as you gave in and climbed into the car. Scarlett hopped in the drivers seat and passed you the aux cord “play whatever you want” she said. You settled on a playlist of random songs you liked as the blonde began the drive out of your neighbour hood.
You and Scarlett drove for over an hour while the blonde gently hummed along the songs you played. You watched as the city skyscrapers slowly turned into the greenest of trees. You’d racked for brain for ideas of where you might be headed but eventually you sat back and allowed the wind to tickle your face. You perked up as you began to recognise the familiar route Scarlett was taking, but there’s no way she could be going there, right? You settled into the car seat until the blonde took the turn you recognised like the back of your hand. “No way” you smiled “Denny’s?” You questioned. “Happy birthday” Scarlett happily said. You smiled wide as your favourite cafe finally came into view “how…why?” You stuttered. “You mentioned once that you and your mom used to come here every Saturday” the older woman said as she found a parking spot. “I-I didn’t think you’d remember that” you said softly. “Come on kid” Scarlett nodded towards the building.
“Hey it’s the birthday girl!” One of the waiters cheered as you entered the cafe. “Junior!” You beamed as your eyes fell across the familiar face, the one who always gave you an extra scoop of ice cream. “We have your favorite spot all set up near the back, sit get comfy. Pattys just cooking up some waffles” he said. You stood in awe of the hospitality while also a little confused. “I called ahead” Scarlett said. You found the same table with the same two seats that you always sat at, there were balloons everywhere and a card on the table signed by all the workers. “Which seat was your mom’s?” Scarlett asked “that one” you said as you nodded towards the old faded blue chair. “You wanna sit there?” The blonde questioned. “No, you sit there” you said after a moment of silence. You and Scarlett settled into some small talk until Junior and Patty appeared. “All day breakfast for Miss Johansson, and one y/n special for our birthday girl” junior said as he placed down your meals. “Patty you remembered!” You said in shock. “No one else has ever ordered something quite so crazy my dear” the old lady said as you gave you a kiss on the cheek “happy birthday”.
You started by sipping on your milkshake while Scarlett stirred her coffee. “What is that?” She asked, motioning to your mountain of food. “This is three Belgium waffles, vanilla and bubblegum ice cream with biscoff crumbs, strawberry sauce, skittles and a flake. With a vanilla milkshake on the side” you grinned, shovelling a pile of your wonderful creation into your mouth. “You’re crazy” Scarlett giggled. The two of you enjoyed each other’s company - much to your surprise - until you finally finished the last spoonful of ice cream. “I can’t believe you ate all that, doesn’t it make you sick?” Scarlett asked. “It did the first couple times but I still convinced Patty to make it for me every Saturday” you said. “Can I ask why you your mom came out here every weekend? It’s kinda far from the city” the blonde questioned. “When I was little l Saturdays were always saved for time with my parents but when dad started working at SNL we had to stop. He made up for it ya know, we’d do things in the evenings and school holidays but my mom knew I missed our Saturday adventures so one day she took me to the park, the one down the road from here. We sat down to eat when mom realised she’d forgot our lunches so she found the closest by place for food. I fell in love with the place and the people. Eventually it just became our place” you smiled, reminding yourself of the fond memory.
“That’s so sweet” Scarlett said “you know if you ever wanna come out here you just have to ask, I’ll drive you” she offered. “Thank you” you smiled “and not just for the offer, for today, it meant a lot to me. I had fun” you admitted. “You’re welcome” the blonde said “but the days not over yet, it’s only 12 so we can do whatever you want. You wanna drive around until you think of something we can do that, or we could go home and you could open your presents from your dad” Scarlett said. “We could have a movie night? And I guess some presents would be nice, just as long as he didn’t get me a new teddy bear” you said skeptically. “Uh oh” Scarlett laughed. “Every year” you said as you rolled your eyes playfully. “He just doesn’t want his baby girl to grow up” Scarlett giggled. “Yeah I know. I miss him” you sighed. “He’ll be home soon babe, come on let’s go home” the blond said as she gathered her belongings. “Can we get snacks for later?” You asked with your best puppy eyes. “How could you possibly need anymore sugar?” The older woman asked. “Who said they were sugary snacks?” You cheekily clapped back. “Come on snack attack” Scarlett smiled as she led you back through the cafe.
It wasn’t the best birthday you’d ever had, but Scarlett had made the day somewhat good. Maybe she wasn’t that bad after all?

Summary: It’s Natasha’s first mission since she rescued you and she’s nervous about how you’ll cope
Between pt 9 & 10
Word Count: 1k
Warnings/Content: None I believe
———————————————————————
Natasha watched in awe as you devoured your breakfast, scrambled eggs were clearly a new favourite. Your mom simply loved to see you exploring new foods, the red room didn’t exactly provided a vast range of meals. “Ease up buttercup it’s not going anywhere I promise” the redhead giggled as she came to join you at the table. “Sorry mama” you smiled as you slowed your pace. Your mom didn’t want to ruin the moment but she needed to talk to you, this conversation couldn’t be avoided any longer.
“Y/n” Natasha said, pushing a loose hair behind your ear to get your attention. “Do you remember when we talked about what mommy does for her work? And how she’s taken a lot of time off to be with you?” She asked. You nodded slowly, still shovelling your eggs into your mouth. “Well now mommy has to go back to work, I have to go on a mission” the widow said. As part of her defection to S.H.I.E.L.D, Natasha had agreed to working directly under Fury but as things changed and you arrived, her priority had been to be with you. But now, the director was getting angsty.
Your shoulders dropped in disappointment, you knew this was coming you just hoped it wasn’t yet. “When?” You asked, pausing your meal. “Next week” your mom said. Natasha made sure she gave you enough notice, you often needed more time to process and prepare for things. “And you’ll come back?” You whimpered. “Of course baby, I promise” the redhead said, pulling you into a tight hug. You very rarely allowed your mother to step out of your sight, you liked to keep her close. “I have to leave at 8 in the morning and I’ll be back by 5 in the evening okay, pinky promise” Natasha said, locking her smallest finger with your own.
The next week soon passed and your mom noticed how you had been much more clingy than usual. It made her nervous, on top of the mountain of worries she already had about leaving you. She knew you’d be safe but she couldn’t predict how you would actually be on the day. “Y/n are you ready to go to uncle Clint’s?” Natasha called up to your room. “Yeah” you said shyly, appearing at the top of the staircase. “Come on my baby” your mom said with outstretched arms, lifting you down the last few steps. You whined when Natasha tired to set you down on the floor so she settled on carrying you to car.
You refused to walk once again after arriving at the Barton’s and trying to pass you into Clint’s waiting arms was a challenge. “Sweetheart you have let mommy go” Natasha said, once again attempting to pry your arms away from her. “No don’t leave me!” You cried. Your mom winced at the sound of your sadness, she wasn’t leaving you but trying to explain that to a 6 year old who had already been through so much was hard.
“Y/n look at me” Natasha said as she placed you on the ground, crouching down with you as you were still tightly latched to her. “I promise you I’m coming back” your mom whispered into your ear, attempting to sooth you with her voice and a tight hug. You basked in the pressure your mother provided and you believed her with everything in you but you were so afraid. “And you’re gonna have loads of fun with your cousins right? I’ll be back before you know it. I love you” Natasha said, kissing your cheek. “I love you too mama” you sadly smiled.
You watched carefully as the redhead walked back to her car, waving softly as she turned her gaze away from you. “Come on then little widow” Clint said as he guided you further into his house. You wiped your tears away quickly, afraid your uncle would be mad at you. You arrived at the kitchen where an excitable Lila was waiting with her crayons. “Y/n do you want to colour with me?” She asked in one quick breath. “Ok you reluctantly agreed”.
Natasha made good on her promise as arrived at the front door at 4:45. “Y/n I’m back” she called out through her exhaustion. “Hey Nat, she’s just in the kitchen” Clint said as he appeared in the hallway. “Hi” the widow said, she had expected you to come running when she returned however something inside her swelled with pride. “Are you ok? You hurt at all?” Clint asked. “No I’m fine maybe a few bruised ribs but it’s nothing” your mom said.
“Hi beautiful” Natasha said as she entered the living room. “Mommy!” You beamed when you saw her fiery red hair, running at her with full velocity. You eyed her curiously, making sure she was unharmed. Natasha knew what you were doing and as it soothed your anxiety, she allowed you to check her injuries. Happy with the result of her unbroken skin and perfect hair you pushed yourself into her chest. “I missed you” you said, burying your head in her scent. “Oh I missed you too baby, did you have fun?” Your mama asked.
“Yeah! We coloured and played on the swings and uncle Clint taught me how to play cards and I’m really good at it!” You enthused. “Well that’s because you’re the smartest little one aren’t you” your mom smiled. “I had a good day mommy, but it would’ve been perfect if you were here” you said as you bashful pointed at her. “Oh thank you sweetie” Natasha said, pulling you back into a tight hug.
It seemed that Natasha had underestimated your independence. She wanted nothing more than to wrap you up in bubble wrap and keep you connected to her for life. But now your mom could see, you were capable of so much. You were strong and determined and you could do anything you put your mind too. Natasha basked in the love you had for Clint and his family, but your greatest love would always be your mom.
