How the Disney Princesses’ personal songs show their dominant/first function (MBTI):
Jasmine (A whole new world): Obviously Jasmine only has one song in which she shares with Aladdin, but I still think it reflects her dominant function as Ne. Jasmine is excited by new ideas, she dives into “a whole new world” with excitement unwilling to look back “a dazzling place I never knew. Unlike Ariel this whole new world is not about sensory experiences, but about the state of mind she wants to indulge in , which previously she has been unable to even dream about without being frowned upon. During this song she sings “No one can tell us (...) we’re only dreaming”, this implies that in the past Jasmine has had a dreamy nature in which she has never been able to follow. Jasmine is able to get to grips with a whole new world quickly, just like she is able to be a “fast learner” during the film. I type Jasmine as an ENTP.
Pocahontas (Colours of the wind): Pocahontas uses Ni as her dominant function which is reflected heavily in this song. Many argue that Pocahontas uses Fi, I don’t feel it is her personal values (although it is obviously something that she cares about) that brings her to confront John Smith and his ignorant way, but her Ni creating patterns which help her see that you need all the “colours of the wind” to make a judgment, which then connects to her secondary function Fe in the song, she cares enough about the external world of emotions urging her to help the environment and John Smith (and his men) grow as people. I type Pocahontas as an INFJ.
Aurora(Once upon a dream): Aurora speaks from a place of internal emotion (Fi), like Belle she uses “I” frequently during this song however, unlike Belle she does not then match this to something she could do or an idea ; Aurora talks about the sensory concrete things that happened (Se , her secondary function) although I know it was only a dream, her dreams and song still reflect the things she would remember and does remember when she does dance with the man she loves. Aurora picks up on what the detail of his eyes are like “eyes is so familiar a gleam” and her sense of “walking” and dancing. I type Aurora as an ISFP.

How the Disney Princesses’ personal songs can show their first/dominant function (MBTI) Part 1 :
Belle (adventure in the great Wild) : I believe this song mirrors Belle’s dominant function (Fi) . Although , all the songs are personal , the dominant aspect of this song is her reflection on her inner feelings on the situation she is in . Belle is completely aware of her emotions and sings from a deep inner reflection on them , hence the amount of times Belle says “I” in this song . This is not to say that Belle is self-absorbed at all , but she has a deep awareness of her emotion , and this song strongly backs this up. I think Belle is an INFP
Cinderella (A Dream is a wish your heart makes): Although it is controversial I think this song casts a spotlight on Cinderella’s dominant function Ne ; the song is focused on the possibility and hope that life will get better for Cinderella , unlike Belle’s it doesn’t seem to pass her emotions first, but through the world of possibilities , although still making some connection “You will lose your heart aches” . Many people put Cinderella as an ISFJ , meaning her dominant function would be Si ; I think this song completely disproves this . Cinderella is not looking back into the past and dwelling on her problems nor is she trying to fix her problems with methods from the past . Instead , Cinderella looks into the future and creates a world in which she can be happy and forget her issues. Not that there is anything wrong with Si at all of course , but I do think typing Cinderella as a character who uses it as her first function is missing the point of her character . Cinderella reflects hope and the idea that working hard (even if she has to suffer in the present) it doesn’t matter , it will all work out in the future ; Cinderella is future orientated “and someday your rainbow will come smiling through, no matter how your heart is grieving if you keep on believing” . I type Cinderella as an ENFP.
Ariel (Part of your world) : Ariel (Part of your world) : On the contrary to popular belief , I believe Ariel uses Se . Similar to Cinderella she externally looks at the world. Through the song Part of your world , we understand that Ariel is much more sensory stimulated ; Ariel mentions many different senses she wants to experience and has clearly taken in the little details of the human world. Ariel mentions dancing , fire , jumping and the feeling of the sun as well as the warmth of the sand. Cinderella wants to go to the ball , but no specific senses are mentioned , she doesn’t mention the sound of feet dancing and the feeling of her dress grazing her ankle as she twists her body to the time of the sweet melody. I know , I know yeahhhh... she isn’t a Mermaid in a completely different world , but she has been locked up in a house having no other senses being fulfilled , but the feeling of fabrics and soap, so you would think there would be some sort of sense mentioned –if she was sensory orientated like Ariel. I type Ariel as an ESFP

The Tenth Doctor (ENFP):
Ne :The Tenth Doctor shoots out new ideas constantly even to the point that he moans that his head is too small and that he needs “a bigger head”. He is able to understand and quickly put together the different possibilities of each situation; Ten gets excited by new possibilities, places and concepts. This is one of the reasons he approaches new creatures with wonder stating that they are “beautiful” occasionaly. This incarnation of the Doctor is bouncy and has to voice his thoughts and ideas , even when he is on his own ; sometimes his companions become a vehi cle for him to explode his thoughts , although usually when they do ask him what ,on Earth ,he was on about , he would usually jump to using a simile or a metaphor to explain in an “N” way. The Ne function sometimes has difficulty sticking to one idea for a long period of time , I think a good example of this for the Tenth Doctor is his idea and almost fantasy of travailing on his own however, in reality he doesn’t enjoy this half as much as he imagined he would. He is idealistic and doesn’t seem to learn from the past until it really starts to hurt him and those around him.
Fi: Once coming up with an idea through his Ne , the doctor the analyses his emotions and feelings on the situation . The Doctor drowns himself in the thought of not being able to see Rose again , so much so that he completely knocks Martha out of the way , unintentionally . Many people have typed Ten as an ENTP , however , series 3 is in itself the greatest example of the Tenth doctor in fact using Fi and not Fe , he is so wrapped up in his own feelings that he doesn’t notice Martha’s. Ten defiantly has a part of him that can seem cold , but this not due to being a “thinker” type , in fact it is due to his Fi and Te combination ; his Fi knows how the situation will make him feel , but his Te tells him what the most logical decision is . However, he is most defiantly still a loving Doctor and nothing fuels him more than his emotions , when something is unjust or wrong , Ten becomes a tornado of rage and sometimes is unable to think straight and overlooking important details and making irrational decisions (such as in the waters of Mars) the most logical thing would be to leave Adelaide Brooke and her crew , but his Fi leads him to ignore this . It is only when an Ood appears and makes him rethink what he had done which makes him jump to his Te “I went too far”.
Te: This function is what, I assume, leads believe that he is an ENTP and not an ENFP .However , it is the Te function that sometimes allows him to come off as “rude” and blunt . He voices his thoughts and logic out loud. It is Te that makes him action based and quick to make decisions , and also another reason why the Tenth Doctor loves to have a companion ; he talks a lot and the mix of both Ne and Te are two of the reasons for this . Te allows him to take charge and become the centre of attention , pushing his logic to the front . When he has to say goodbye to Rose , telling her she is going to go and live in a parallel universe and can never see him again , he uses his Te , knowing that is the best decision . He constantly spurts out what he is thinking , I couldn’t count how many episodes he is frantically trying to do something whilst explaining it at the same time to his companion , and let’s not mention the amount of times he has to say “yes ! No ! Yes !” whilst outwardly working things out.
Si: Now this is the function that turns up every time he is upset , whether this it dealing with losing his companion or thinking about the war . One of the reasons he is known as “the man who regrets”. He dwells on the past and paired with his Fi becomes engulfed by his feelings on the past. During the episode of “the Runaway bride” he even imagines him and Rose after seeing a blonde woman dancing . This function is the function that pulls him down the most , he constantly worries and dwells on the past . It pops up regularly throughout all of his series and “the day of the Doctor” , but series 3 really does highlight his Si function.

Doctor Who : New Who - Nine & Ten sorted into Hogwarts houses (Nawwysblog).
9th Doctor : The ninth Doctor is a in the moment and spontaneous incarnation . Nine is daring and although , all the Doctors are courageous ; nine has a particular determination “'Cos this is what I'm gonna do: I'm gonna rescue her! I'm gonna save Rose Tyler from the middle of the Dalek fleet, and then I'm gonna save the Earth, and then, just to finish off, I'm gonna wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky!" -Parting of the ways (series 1 ep13). Although , it could be argued that Slytherins are determined and obviously any of the houses can be , Nine possess a desire to do what is right . I have seen Nine sorted into Ravenclaw multiple times , but personally don't see him to be someone who craves knowledge . Nine seems to me to be a Doctor that likes to experience the Universe - not for the pure reason of gaining knowledge , but rather a desire to be a part of it.
10th Doctor : The Tenth Doctor is usually the incarnation that causes the most controversy , when being placed into Hogwart houses. The reason for this is simply (In my opinion) he talks a lot ; 10 has a lot of passion for everything around him and is constantly having to exercise this through words/conversation. Towards the end of 10's reign , he becomes seemingly more and more "Slytherin" claiming he is the "Time Lord victorious" and that he could do "so much more" . However, I have reason to believe that this is 10s mask , that he doesn't really believe this ; it is one of his attempts to try to hide his emotions (which he does through his three series and of course , year of specials in Doctor Who) . 10 is hands down the most emotional Doctor and struggles with the effects of the time war greatly . He is in need of partnership - even more so than any other Doctor , although he states "I am better off alone" (a mask to hide his feelings ) 10 does prefer to have a companion . A scene that I think really shows this is during the episode "Partners in crime" (series 4 ep1) , the Doctor looks around the Tardis after talking to himself to find , no one there. I personally find this a sign that 10 is a Hufflepuff - friendship means a lot to him , but the thought of losing those he loves , "well..." hurts!Who can blame him after losing , Rose , Reinette , Martha , Astrid , Donna and of course everyone who ends up dying in his presence in a Doctor Who episode ; which the waters of mars episode clearly shows - he blames himself. Personally I think this is the reason he appears to act "Slytherin" towards the end .
I also feel that 10's main quality is his loyalty . No matter how long he has known someone is puts himself on the line for them "Kill me if it will stop you attacking these people" (series 3 ep5) ; I don't know about you , but that and many more 'selfless' moments , didn't really sound like 'self-preservation'. Ten will make promises that he will get people to safety and takes this very seriously ; he is selfless and will allow people to rely on him. 10 is awfully forgiving "The Doctor: And you know what happens now. The Master: No! No! No. No! The Doctor: You wouldn’t listen. ‘Cause you know what I’m going to say. {he cradles The Master} I forgive you." - Loyalty at its maximum , the master just destroyed the Earth and tortured him and his friends. To conclude , Ten I feel , puts on a persona of someone who is a lot more unemotional and attached then he really is , because he is afraid of being hurt . Defiantly a true Hufflepuff.

If Disney Princesses went to Hogwarts! (Old Cartoon Disney Only).
Snow White : Although , it is cliche to say;Snow White is a clear Hufflepuff , with a kind and caring nature she nurtures both the Seven Dwarfs and the animals around her . In spite of the fact that all Disney Princesses look after animals, snow white has an extra soft spot for animals- like a true Hufflepuff . Snow white is hopeful and optimisic , which incredibly impressive seem so her own step Mother attempted to murder her. I want to stay away from the stereotype of Hufflepuffs being naive (not that being naive is something to be ashamed of - it makes life fun , don’t you think )? However, Snow does take the apple , seeing the best in people , even to her own price.
Cinderella : Like Snow White , Cinderella is a Hufflepuff . Cinderella is most certainly “Just and Loyal and unafraid of toil”. Although , she is mentally abused by her step-Mother and sisters ; Cinderella does not lose hope , neither does she rebel and become vengeful " while Cinderella was abused, humiliated, and finally forced to become a servant in her own house. And yet, through it all, Cinderella remained ever gentle and kind.”
Aurora (sleeping Beauty) : some say typing Aurora is difficult considering she only has 18 lines in the whole film ! However , I have reason to believe this makes her even more of a strong character , we can get a clear look at her personality even though she is quiet . Aurora is a Ravenclaw , my reasoning behind this is she curios -even to a fault . The first song we hear Aurora sing is "I wonder" which clearly shows that she likes to ask questions about the world around her .When she meets Prince Philip for the first time in the forest she remembers the fact that her Guardians said "don't talk to strangers" ; I personally feel if she were Hufflepuff she would have never have invited Philip back to the house - to keep her word , but being a Ravenclaw she decided that it would be alright if she met up with him when/where her Guardians could see her. The last point I am going to make is that , the whole film leads up to the point that she pricks her finger on the spindle of the spinning wheel - this due to her curiosity.
Ariel : Now , I have seen Ariel been placed in several houses ; Ravenclaw for her curiousity , Hufflpuff for her compassion , Slytherin for her desire to become "Part of your world". However , I personally would place her in Gryffindor , my reason behind this is ; Ariel is impulsive and heroic , saving Erics life without thinking and although , you could class this as Loyal , she did not know Eric at the time and if she hadn't of broken her Fathers rules (which in its self - for a Disney film , screams Gryffindor) then she wouldn't have been in the situation in the first place. When given the opportunity to exchange her voice for legs of Ursula ; Ariel did not ask , why did she want her voice ? or who is this "sea witch" ? Instead she was impulsive and 'dived' in head first. Also , may I add Ariel is late to her singing performance which to me personally rules out Hufflepuff. Ariel does not strike me as overly ambitious (like a Slytherin) although , she has the desire to be "out of these waters" the method of getting there is not planned out like a Slytherin , instead she becomes more and more indulged in the underwater man-made collection .
Belle : I know I said that I would stay away from stereotypes , but to me Belle is most certainly a Ravenclaw . I have seen contradictions to this , usually placing her in Gryffindor and although she does want an “adventure in the great wide somewhere” She decides to do this through books . Belle does not want to be heroic (like the "ABC's once upon a time Belle”)she just wants to escape the “conventional town” in which she lives . The castle in which the adventure does begin is just through the forest and although it is dangerous (which probably wouldn’t phase a Gryffindor anyway) I feel if Belle really wanted to , she could’ve left on her own for the story to begin , but instead it was to save her Dad. Belle is intelligent enough that when faced with the issue of her Father being captured by the ‘Beast’ she could use her quick thinking to get him out . Be warned I am about to use a cliche, but Belle does like to read ; I am well aware that any Harry Potter house is able to read books , I mean look a Hermione , but Belle uses them as her method of both adventure and although not intenially , it is how she and the Beast fall in love . The beast gives Belle a library as a present , we also see several scenes of them reading by the fire . Belle is also a character that helps teach the Beast how to love and be compassionate - a very RavenClaw attribute (Wisdom).
Jasmine : Jasmine in my opinion is a perfect example of a ‘good Slytherin’ . Although , Aladdin tries to trick Jasmine , attempting to convince her that he is a prince , Jasmine cottons on quickly and decides to 'play' him , until he is backed against the wall and she can unravel his plan . Jasmine also uses her own cunning side to trick Jaffar that his spell had worked until she could stop him. I have seen many people say that Jasmine is a Slytherin and I think it is due to her strong will and assertive personality that many people come to the same conclusion.
Pocahontas : Pocahontas is commonly put in the house of Gryffindor , but I think this may be a case of seeing her Ravenclaw knowledge being put into action . Pocahontas is wise and intelligent ; she picks up on English quickly and uses her intelligence to both realise that difference is not a weakness , but a strength and teach John Smith this very fact. Pocahontas is full of teachings and is in my opinion , the most wise Disney princess of them all .
Mulan : Again , I know cliches are hard to hear , but Mulan is a Gryffindor , everything she does is for honour , she is full of bravery and prides herself on it , she is headstrong and does not flee from times that she could die (which isn’t exactly slythein’s “self-preservation” attitude) she fights to make a statement and bring honour to her family.
Tiana : Although , hardworking Tiana is most certainly not a Hufflepuff , but a Slytherin . The reason why I would say this is because of course she is ambitious , but that is obvious so we will skip that tedious bit . The main reason is that when faced with the talking frog who asks her to kiss him , it is not the fact that he needs her help to become a prince once again or out of compassion (not that she isn’t compassionate) , but because he offers her money , which would in return help with her ambition . This to me is very Slytherin and follows the “any means to achieve their ends”.
