Sorry, I tried, but I couldn't finish the strip this month. I tried really hard, but it's been a really hard month for me and everyone around me: illnesses (e.g. my daughter got chickenpox), accidents (e.g. my dad ended up with a stitched hand), my own health issues (especially mental), and yesterday I found out that my acquaintance lost her battle with cancer.
I can't finish the strip. I'm not even close to finishing it. It'll be up in June.
Tumblr media
But you have one frame from it. Sammy seems happy. But it's bad kind of happiness.

What if...
So I was reading this amazing comic and had some really interesting thoughts about what would have happened if the drawing had gone differently and Rhea had stuck to the original drawings.
In reference to this wonderful conversation, I couldn't resist drawing a quick sketch of Poseidon swimming in the one of the rivers of death. And then I thought: why not, let's draw all the brothers.
So here's Poseidon, God of the Underworld, swimming in a school of the dead souls in the river Lethe. (Yes, souls are transparent.)
Tumblr media
And here's Hades, God of the Sky, who covers the sky with a dark shroud of storm clouds cuz his eyes don't like sunlight. Water is important to humans, right? Maybe less sunlight reaches the earth, but that doesn't mean we'll immediately have a Snowball Earth again, right? :D
Tumblr media
And poor Zeus, God of the Sea. I think he ended up the worst, cuz with feathery wings, unless you're a duck or a seagull, it's hard to go underwater and then flying… X"D Especially when it's constantly raining, cuz your older brother won't stop creating storm clouds. So he just sits on a rock and complains.
Tumblr media
Sorry not sorry X"D Silly fanarts for Silly Mythology X"D I hope it makes you laugh, @kdpartworks :D
By the way, does it count as Mermay?

More sketches from my "Empire of the Sun and the Moon". Sorry, but that's my current obsession. I haven't had as much fun writing since "War-Zone".
While reading novels at our SOCK (literary club) meetings, we had a discussion about the appearance of characters and the fact that, as a rule, authors don't describe characters in detail. I recalled that I used to describe characters in great detail, but I gave up on it (cuz it was really boring). However, it turned out that people imagine my characters completely differently, e.g. with a different hair length (even though that is what is described) or with hair at all (where the text says that the character is bald). However, leaving aside such deviations, it turned out that from one description everyone imagines each character differently - so I started to wonder how I imagine them, and this resulted in a series of sketches made from the beginning of the week until Thursday (when it turned out that my child had chickenpox and from that moment on I stayed at home with her).
So first up is a complete sketch of Atian, which I've already sent in. Atian, one of King Tatucan's concubines, is a comfort character of mine, so I like to write or read about him when my anxiety mode kicks in.
Tumblr media
I'm really glad I finally managed to draw him in a way that I was happy with. In the pages of the novel, he's described simply as a figure with black curly hair and skin the color of fresh cocoa beans. His face is described as "boyish" despite his age, and his figure as petite and feminine. I had a more detailed picture, but I couldn't get it right - so I'm proud that when I drew these sketches I had something like that "yes, that's exactly what I wanted!"
If anyone is curious about the inscriptions on the sketch, the arrows point to the features of the adult Atian that indicate he is a palace servant: hairstyle, makeup, and jewelry. In a world where people don't wear much on a daily basis, jewelry (especially earrings) immediately indicates position, status, and social role, so people often look at their ears first.
The next character is one of King Tatucan's six wifes, Tnyga. Tnyga comes from the Sea Kingdom, where she is her father's eldest daughter. Her people are so closely connected to the sea that if anyone tried to invade their Kingdom, they would simply get on a boats in a maximum few hours and sail away, showing the invaders their bare butts from the horizon as a farewell. I imagined them a bit like the native Hawaiians, but their rituals, beliefs and political system are also based a bit on Irish and Scandinavian coastal tribes - I know there's a big geographical spread, but hush… it's my alternate world! So they believe in the gods of nature, but they also have selkies. Their system is a hereditary monarchy, but the gender of the heir doesn't matter, so they have both kings and queens in power. Basically, similar to Empire of the Sun.
Tumblr media
When I was drawing her, I had a look in my head that might be somewhat reminiscent of Moana. But in reality, the way I imagine her came out only on the third sketch I drew - the one at the very bottom (where she has a transparent cloth and you can see her breasts). This is my Tnyga. In the novel, she is described as a woman of average height with a wide mouth and hips, brown hair that falls in waves to her shoulders and a gentle look in her brown eyes. The king compares her eyes to the gentle look of a mazama (a type of South American deer). She is one of the king's two foreign wives who converted to the faith of the Empire and (like the other) remaining in the faith of their ancestors.
In the drawing where you can see her whole figure, she is in the traditional clothing of her people, below she is already in everyday clothing worn by high-ranking women in the Empire of the Sun. I also drew jewelry that testifies to Tnyga's "sea" origins - 'cause she is extremely proud of her roots and wants her daughter, Tialli to never forget that she comes from the sea.
I also drew 3 variants of hairstyles in which she appears in the novel: loose hair (often with pearls woven into it), which she wears at official feasts and meetings with important guests; tied in a comfortable braid, which she wears every day when she performs her duties in the palace; and tied in a high bun, in line with the Empire's fashion. She is not a fan of the latter, but when some protocols or holidays require it, she combs her thick, wavy hair in this hairstyle.
The next sketch is something I'm really proud of!
Tumblr media
I decided to draw one of the more important secondary characters, the palace guard Katuro - and it came out exactly as I wanted it to, on my first drawing! So, to keep up the momentum, I also drew his younger brother, who has just finished his military training, so his hair is still growing. Yes, Konochi is a bit tall for a 7-year-old, but other than that, they both came out pretty well.
Katuro was barely described in the novel, except that he was a fairly tall and slender man who looked like all the palace guards. He was one of the youngest, having started his career as a guard at the age of 14 (he's 19 in the novel's plot). When I presented the other characters' points of view, I added that he had the appearance and build of a warrior (i.e. he was muscular), and I have to admit that I'm pleased with how well I managed this sketch.
Konochi is described as a short-haired boy with a sharp gaze, very similar to his brother.
Finally, I decided to make some outlines of the inhabitants of the two main nations in my novel's plot.
Tumblr media
The inhabitants of the Empire of the Sun (aka Soleipo) are described as stocky, short people with slightly slanted eyes, black straight hair and skin in a cold shade of light brown. King Tatucan, sent by the gods (specifically the Sun), differs from them in both his figure - described as slim and tall, he is at least a head taller than most of the inhabitants - and his skin colour, which is described as copper (a warm colour, tending towards red) - which seems to emphasize his divine origin.
Tumblr media
The Pakutan nation, on the other hand, has been described (through the eyes of one of the inhabitants of the Empire of the Sun) as being quite similar to them, but somehow fatter, more massive and with wide, flat noses. The colour of their eyes also distinguishes them, because they have eyes in various shades of brown and sometimes green, while the eyes of the inhabitants of the Empire of the Sun are usually very dark. When I imagined them, I based them somewhat on the indigenous inhabitants of North America, but also somewhat on the population of very cold zones in Asia or in the furthest Europe - that is why their bodies often seem "fatter". Unlike the inhabitants of the Empire of the Sun, the Pakutan have very long hair.
For scale, I included representatives of a neighbouring tribe called Dakota (I know it's a female(?) name and a state, but I can't help it - I like the sound of the word). No representatives of this nation appear in the novel, but they are often mentioned as allies and friends of the Pakutan, and one half-Dakota is a close friend (and lover) of one of the main characters in the novel. The Dakota are described as taller and thinner, though still massive, their tribe occupying coastal hilly areas, generally flooded and damp, and cold. The men of what I have described so far shave their heads, leaving only very long strands on the top.
I suspect that few people care about all I wrote here, since I don't post anything from this novel here (and I don't intend to, since I'm planning on publishing it as a regular book), but I wanted to share it anyway - because I'm quite happy with these sketches.

Ha, ha, good one. Out of curiosity, in your silly mythology, is Pan the brother or son of Hermes? Wanna see them together anyway.
By the way, in one of my novels (temporarily suspended), which tells the story of a magic school in Slovakia, the entire second volume focuses on fauns who occupy and try conquer the school because one of them dared to teach human children about plants. Pan in this version is one of the great fauns, considered the greatest of them, and all the fauns and dryads (in my case it's one species) who descend from him are considered more powerful. I have to come back to this novel sometime.
I'd love to see how in your silly mythology look minor gods like my fav Pan (I have vibes for fauns) or Hypnos, or sons of Ares: Phobos and Deimos.
I didn't designed Ares' sons yet, but i have a draft for Hypnos here:
Tumblr media
and my favourite, PAN, i drew it NOW in like 5 seconds, because I absolutely have to do this scene, after you know, the epic battle against Typhoon.
Tumblr media
thank you for remind me about that

Finally! I finally managed to draw Atian the way I imagine him.
Tumblr media
Explanation: Atian is a character of a concubine from my novel Empire of the Sun and the Moon, which takes place in an alternate reality in an Empire resembling the Aztec one (but I mix up a vortex of cultures there). In this world, Europe doesn't exist, and the dominant culture is the alter-Aztecs. I draw a lot of this content, but main medium is writing (and I've plan to publish it as regular book novel).
Due to his rather dramatic past and truly sweet and angelic personality, Atian is my comfort character in this story. He's around 25 years old in the regular novel, but his story (via flashbacks) begins when he's 13.
The name "Atian" in the language of my alter-Aztecs is a play on words meaning "gift from the gods". But maybe I'll change it (without changing sense and meaning) cuz something sounds wrong and not fit at him.
More sketches (older and rather poorly made) under the cut.
First ones made on May 8th wasn't good xD Don't look on deersnake (or snakedeer I dunno) xD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Second try (May 9th) was better but still not good.
Tumblr media
I'm not good in drawing males. Or men generally.

Something cute has arrived!
Tumblr media
OMG! He's so cute! But from the beginning...
At first I wasn't sure if I would buy him. He caught my eye, Ursa liked him too, but I wasn't sure if I wanted him for sure, so I just took a picture of the author's Facebook link to contact her if I wish.
Tumblr media
Then we went to have dinner on the floor with the restaurants and I thought about everything. I like to have time to think about a decision. So I decided. And I went back for him.
We've arrived home and it was time…
Tumblr media
...for Helob to find out he's a daddy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not very happy, as my child said X"D
Tumblr media
But, whatever, he's HIS son for sure! And he won't let anyone hurt him! (Especially Mefis, who immediately expressed interest in the new interesting thing...)
Tumblr media
They're so cute together!
And then mom arrived… (Ursa says it's mom and I have to admit there's a certain resemblance)
Tumblr media
And since we ordered the second spider from this lady, my child immediately said mom was pregnant :)
Tumblr media
Big happy family of totally common spiders!
Tumblr media
On his shelf again. So cute together!
And if someone wants to ask - the framed picture of the chocolate spider is a gift I got for Gift Day from my proofreader Ozi!

I've just heard (almost a month late, but that's how I am and work) news about Bendy: The Cage… that they cancelled it because they decided to incorporate the plots from this upcoming game into the 3rd part of BATIM… the problem is that after the 2nd part, I don't trust them and I don't want to play the 3rd (and many people I know feel the same way), and Cage was supposed to be (for me) a "hard reset" and a something like fixed version of BATDR, so… That was really poor, theMeatly, very weak… Shit, you have to give us a fucking ink Jesus to make it work for us!
Sorry for hate language but I'm really tired all this shit from the studio which give me my beloved game! I know there are people who like BATDR - good for you. But also there are people (like me) who was really disappointment. Plus the most important: I hate broken promises. It's really shame (for me) what they do now!
PS. And don't fucking promise that Sammy will come back if he has to get a crappy, unimportant and nonsensical role like in BATDR again!

Hey SATIM fans! I didn't forget that today is the birthday of my favourite second chapter, and therefore Sammy! I really wanted to get the strip done today, but my own daughter's birthday (two days earlier) and preparations for Easter made it impossible. But here are two rough cuts from the upcoming strip to give you a taste!
Happy Easter! And all the best, Sammy!

My friend send me this bingo for fun.
Tumblr media
I did it.
It's my results.
Tumblr media
I need to explain myself X"D
Has a special interest that brings me lots of joy - At the moment it's the Aztecs and spiders, and I also have some "permanent" interests, like numerology (numbers in general), horoscopes, world mythologies… I have more X"D I love reading, watching, talking and finding new curiosities on these topics.
Makes random noises for fun - Oh yes. Sometimes I don't even know why I did it. I can suddenly start parodying well-known melodies (even unrelated to the topic of conversation), makes random roar or screech. Although my husband was most amused by the time I was walking through the kitchen and suddenly started walking in a dinosaur pose singing "velociraptor, velociraptor, velo-velo-velociraptor".
Gets along well with other autistic people - I can't say yes here, 'cause people are different. I like some, some piss me off. I like the least those who behave like me and have a similar character to me.
You've been called very smart/knowledgable before - I corrected my teacher when she made a mistake sometime in the first week of elementary school. I thought my peers were morons. Adults adored me and thought I was a genius, and I just read a lot. Yes, before I started elementary school.
Has fun researching your favourite topics - This question has already been asked, only written differently. I refer you to it.
Very skilled at your hobby / special interest - I have a problem with this question, because I don't consider myself very talented. But I think I'm quite good at what I do. Rate my drawings, film analyses or novel fragments for yourself.
Enjoys the company of animals more than people - For most of my middle school and high school years I said "I'm not a human, I'm a cat." I hated people so much and wished I was a cat. Now I have friends that I like, but if I had to choose company humans outside of my friends or any animals (except a wasps), I'd choose any animals. Especially if it was some cool millipedes or snails.
Eats the same food every day - Now I try to have a balanced diet, but when I was younger, I didn't mind eating the same soup or the same cutlets with potatoes and the same salad for a week. Now I almost always make sandwiches the same way. I have a few dishes that I like and I prepare them interchangeably. I'm reluctant to try new things, unless I have a spurt to do so. Rarely.
Likes plushies and other "childish" interested - I prefer watching cartoons than "serious" movies, I like collecting figurines or plushies (but now it's called being a geek), and to this day when I buy a kinder surprise egg for my daughter in a store, I buy a second one for myself (and a third one for my husband, so he wouldn't be sad).
Clothes MUST be comfortable - YES! YES ABSOLUTELY! And my mum never understood that so much, saying: appearance is important, a girl has to suffer sometimes to be pretty. That's when I decided I didn't want to be a pretty girl and for half of my childhood I wore camouflage clothes: combat pants, T-shirts, hoodies (much to my dad's delight).
Listen to music to shut your brain up - I don't really know what this point is about, but I can't function properly without music playing in the background. If I can't listen to music, I start singing myself. My mrs boss was very quick to agree to let me listen to music at work (I sing very bad, lol X"D).
Knows a ton of random fun facts - Did you know that tomatoes and bananas are berries - but raspberries are not? Or that female bonobos do sex for food and other material benefits (prostitution is not a human domain!)? In fact, relatively few spiders make webs. My favourite jumping spiders have no cribellum at all - they jump on their prey, they are intelligent, fast and aggressive predators. Love them.
Has an eye for detail - Again, it's hard for me to judge… I think so, because I can pay attention to some detail that others miss. This is the basis of the game of Dixit between me and my friend Titatotrix. But at the same time, I miss important details when someone shows me something. But I think generally yes.
Thinks "outside of the box" - Would I play so many point and click games if I was shit at it? X'D
Very punctual (good job!) - NO! I'm totally unpunctual, my friends know that and make appointments with me for an earlier hour than with themselves X"D Then I'm on time.
NEVER punctual - Yep. That's me.
Makes up lots of stories in your head - I regret that there is no technology that transfers my thoughts to paper or Word. So many ideas are lost forever. I've gotten through a lot of tough times just by escaping into my imagination and living my characters' lives instead of my own. Some days it was survival from the moment I got out of bed to the moment I could lie in bed again and continue plotting.
Likes being alone - Yes, I like it. Sometimes when I meet people I regret that I am not at home reading a book or playing a game. But at the same time I hate being alone. In this sense I'm totally like a cat.
Over-explains everything - Again, I don't know if this is true. But I know that when I started writing and went to a literary club, I was accused of writing too boring and detailed descriptions - cuz I couldn't stand the thought that someone might imagine my character or a situation even slightly differently than I did.
Watches/listens to the same movie/series/music over and over - When it comes to music, I can loop one song and listen to it until the ears of those around me start bleeding. I often prefer to watch a movie I know and like than to risk a new one. I love going back to series I like and watching them in their entirety or just individual scenes. I could quote my favourite cartoons as a child along with the characters, including imitating their tone.
People say you look angry or sad, but you are just vibing - Well, sometimes I sit and think about something and someone at work asks me "did something happen? did you hurt? why are you mad?". I don't know why. I understand if I'm thinking of a dramatic moment in the story, but that often happens when I'm just staring into space and not thinking about anything.
Will fidget with any object within reach - My hands can't rest still, especially when there are interesting things next to them. Scribbled and holed erasers, straightened paper clips, torn papers… Now we've got big sheets for our desks at work, so I scribble on them all the time.
Talks to yourself a lot - As an adult, I've learned to talk to myself in my head, not out loud, but I still haven't mastered not using facial expressions. People often are scared of me.
Gets VERY excited when someone starts talking about your special interests - Oh yeah, if the topic turns to something I'm interested in, I have a hard time sitting still or not interrupting people. I try to control it, but… damn, they're talking about what I know, and I know more than them and I can tell them about it! Hurray!
...
And did you know that doctors said I'm not autistic? Yep. I'm not.
