the eurocentric mind simply cannot fathom the idea that deserts are large carbon sinks, that they are complex ecosystems that host a large amount of life and a life that cannot exist anywhere else. and that is why they think turning deserts green is somehow a good, or feasible idea. a desert is not a wasteland. the dying plants that you plant on top of it because they cannot deal with the heat though? that’s a wasteland!

oh yeah also one last thing: the album is an echo of itself. like, second half echoes the first half

overcompensate -> lavish (excess, compensating to "fit in"/make up for something, keeping up appearances, acting cool when in reality youre fucked)

next semester -> navigating (dissociation/flashbacks, being stuck in the past/not feeling present)

backslide -> snap back (literally backsliding, falling off the wagon, reverting to a prior, worse state)

midwest indigo -> oldies station (time moving too fast, feeling unprepared for the future)

routines in the night -> at the risk of feeling dumb (suffering in silence/isolation vs reaching out to a friend/having "company")

vignette -> paladin strait (???? other than "being past the point of saving/past the point of no return" i genuinely Could Not tell you what the common thread is)

with the craving being the hinge/"reset" point. make of that what you will. i know i sure as fuck am.

There is a trend I’ve noticed that smut fics tend to be much more popular than anything else and honestly I just want to have something to look at to remind myself and that writing doesn’t have to have sex to be worth putting out into the community.
