Phuket 2014

So we have been in Phuket for 24 hours now and since we got here its been great fun.. Possibly the perfect place to start out travels. We arrived at the hotel following a bit of a long taxi drive.. Not because it was a long journey but because the taxi driver felt the need carry out some of his everyday errands and stop at random places. After lunch and a brief nap we headed out to Kata beach. We walked along the beach for ages until we found some sand temples to celebrate the new year. They were works of art. The tallest was around 7 foot and the detail was beautiful, they had some gold lace on them. Surrounded by these mini flags and dream catchers that changed direction when the wind blew. It was all so colourful and beautiful to look at. Following the standard tourist pictures of the sand temples we went and sat on the beach just people watching.. People taking selfies, surfing, swimmers, people falling off jet skis, parasailers and everyone else just living life. Some of use had a nap on the beach, not going o say who but it was not me..Watching the sun set was such a relaxing experience, the colours of the sky were beautiful. Following some relaxing in the hotel pool and Facetime with the family dinner was next on the cards. We ate at a local place. Sanja had some SPICY srimp curry and i had noodles with chicken.. The taste buds went mental! It was like an orchestra of herbs and spices playing Beethoven number 5. I can only imagine the food we are going to eat on the rest of this adventure.. It was about midnight when we finished our dinner & Singha beers and there was only one place to go after this.. Yep you guessed it.. 1 hour foot massage. Ohh my relaxation level went through the roof! I did however think I might get charged double as when I sat down the masseur said "oh you are big boy, have very big legs" I could have gone into it and told him how I've never been able to wear shin pads for footy but to be honest I'm not sure he would have understood.. Sanjci had a foot massage and a pedicure which really helped me with my daily work out.. How I hear you ask, well when her pedicure was done wearing trainers would have ruined it so a piggy back ride was on the cards with a brief stop at the local 7 eleven for some beer and snacks.. Woke up this morning feeling refreshed and ready for what lies ahead today!
