i hate that we live in a world where mentally ill people feel obligated to apologize for relapsing/being suicidal/having breakdowns/hitting rock bottom like….there’s nothing worse than being in that position and feeling like you’re just letting everybody around you down. that makes my heart ache so much

We live in a community with people who are afraid to learn about something different. Many people live in a closed mindset and see a world as one dimensional. In doing that, they close off their perceptions of things they don’t understand. This collection focuses on the injustices that happen to minority groups in America. The unfair treatment can be seen in other countries as well, NOT ONLY AMERICA. The importance of the work as a whole stems from the harsh reality we face as a nation. On a daily basis, people are pulled from security lines to be “randomly selected” to be screened on the basis that they don’t look a part of the “norm.” We have become sensitized to things we don’t understand and I am taking a stand against that.

friend: are you ok?
me: No I'm not, but confronting hard truths and sharing my emotions is difficult for me and i don’t want to burden you with my problems when you have plenty of your own. However, I will be posting a jarring synopsis of my emotional state online for everyone to see, but feel free to ignore it if it makes you uncomfortable. how are you tho?
