“Ariadne in the labyrinth. The most alive of worlds, human beings with the tenderest flesh, are made of marble. I strew devastation as I pass. I wander dead-eyed through cities and petrified populations.”

@wendelsae Degwin is still dead but it's implied Gihren poisoned him some time towards the end of the war when it became clear Zeon were going to win rather than killing him with a big dumb superweapon. This is actually established during the only scene Gihren appears on screen which is also the scene in which he is killed. nyoom. Amuro never became a pilot and has not been mentioned thus far but haros exist and one has more insight than it should so I'm not discounting Amuro acting via a toy robot. In the absence of Amuro, and with Char successfully stealing the Gundam, the feddies' top pilot is Sayla Mass. She takes out Dozle (off-screen) in a Guncannon. Garma was never killed and so successfully eloped with Icelina, renounced his claim to the Zabi throne, and is presumably living a civilian life on Earth. Minerva, as in the original series, may or may not exist.
It looks like Gihren's plan, having never given the contolism speech, was to publicly claim that Newtypes were war propaganda and never existed - while privately declaring them a threat to humanity and deploying his security services to assassinate them. He was having a big dumb superweapon constructed solely to use as a deterrent, and to force the remaining federation forces to disarm so he could rule Earth. One of our protagonists is from Side 2 and may somehow be an Operation British survivor.
Kycilia, by comparison, is gunning for full Newtype aristocracy, justifying her rule to the masses by placing all of the Zabi warcrimes squarely on Gihren's shoulders. She seems to want to use the big dumb superweapon to render the Earth uninhabitable. She's speedrunning Char's CCA arc.
Challia seems to have inherited Char's desire to eliminate all Zabis and establish a spacenoid republic - minus Char's various personal issues but with an obvious personal grief and obsession with Char's possible survival. Char is perceived to have died a martyr's death to prevent a desperate feddie asteroid attack on the moon, while actually attempting to kill Kycilia. He may or may not have shifted to a different timeline, got a softboi bowlcut, and shifted back in time to cause various problems.

@wendelsae GQuuuuuuX had 12 episodes scheduled total. 1.5 of those are alternate 0079 flashback. ~6 are exploring civilian life on Side 6, introducing our MCs, establishing the post-war Zabi internal feud, and Clan Bat (duels between scrap dealers, essentially). That leaves 4.5 episodes for the Zabi cold war to go hot, to explain why newtypes can see and sometimes enter alternate timelines, for our protagonists to attempt to kill each other, and for Challia to activate the Char Doctrine (kill all zabis, though in this timeline Char never killed Garma - so he could inherit the Zabi claim to space by default. Garma bros we are more back than we've ever been and he hasn't even appeared on screen). Nyaan went from being picked up by Kycilia faction on side 6 to activating the rival mecha, microwaving an anti-newtype Gihren-aligned assassin, and becoming Kycilia's favourite within half an episode. The people who would have formed the core of the Titans' cyber-newtype squad (possibly also funded and armed by Gihren) were wiped within a single episode. When I say breakneck pacing...
Yah, Kycilia kills Gihren in this timeline too but in a more planned and subtle manner.

Oh right, yeah. I keep forgetting that UK neoliberalism was a deep cover black op by trotskyists.
