y’know what I’ll throw this one to the wind. genuine question would you all prefer that I keep my dotdd thoughts vague (ie mostly just posting screenshots or jokes without much analysis, good or bad) or would it be better if I Did give my honest opinion so that you can know what my specific thoughts and opinions are even if they are not always positive (they’re nuanced. my opinion does not lean one way or the other. it would not be 100% me being a hater all the time bc I do like the game and think it does a lot of things well actually but there WOULD be some pretty harsh negativity in there if you’re not into that.)

OC Hour: Kaisey Jules

I've decided (tentatively and with great fear) to talk about my ocs, and who better to start with but the first one I posted onto the blog. Anyway! Kaisey, my Ni No Kuni OC! Putting this under a read more because it's spoilers for the first game's endgame all the way down

So Kaisey originally started as a crack idea as I was running all the errands in postgame, specifically Errand 134: Order of Illusion. My thought process was the following. "Wait... If some of Cass' illusions were aware they were illusions and non-hostile (Caph, Segin, and Archird), and some of them were able to break free from her control and remain even after she and Pea fused back into one being (Zodiarch), what if i (jokingly) made an oc who was an illusion, knew he was one, and broke free from Cassiopea's control, but was also not hostile towards the party?"

As expected of every oc I've ever made that was not made seriously to begin with, he very quickly spiraled out of control and has quickly stolen my heart and my drawing pen and refuses to return them!

(side note, the bottom two are postgame alternate outfits for his main outfit and swimsuit that he chooses to swap to)

But meet Kaisey, a twenty-something (probably) guy with all sorts of impostor syndrome-related issues based on the fact that he's a memory of a memory of a guy he'll never get to meet. The original Kaisey was part of Nazcaä's royal guard, and even now Kaisey still holds onto (and even occasionally uses) the armor. He tends to prefer swords as weapons, but he honestly could use whatever melee weapon he could get his hands on, improvised or otherwise.

I've yet to draw her in any meaningful way, but he also has a Sapdragon named Fluffy for his familiar, and his favored types are Dracones, Arcana, and Nymphae!
