Trying to buck my burnout(?) with some fucking about with shading styles Artist named Ajam inspired me to draw her lol
No I don't know why she ended up in streetwear lol. She had glasses at one point but I decided to get rid of 'em

Kaijune2025 - Day30: Kantedrom
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kaijune 2025 - Day 30: Upside-Down And here's the last one!
Most of the time spent on this was making sure both versions felt like they could be the 'correct' one, and working on an ambigram that I scrapped. Hope the effect works.
[This is the prompt list I followed] ===== BIO:
A kaiju that's only been seen in photos so far, very few people have actually seen Kantedrom, let alone photograph it. One of the most elusive kaiju to date, nobody, not even eyewitnesses, can agree on exactly what the kaiju is, due to it looking like either assessment could be correct. This isn't helped by the fact that it's been almost always sighted near cliffs where the sky and water look similar to eachother.
For some, they believe it to be some sort of bird-like kaiju with vestigial limbs on its back, spiked claws at the end of their wings, and spike on the end of its tail that it uses to spear fish with.
For others, they believe Kantedrom is some sort jerboa-like creature, having long legs that are covered in feathers like a microraptor that end in kangaroo-like nails, with horns or ears on its head, hip spurs, and log-barbed tail for counter-balance.
No matter what the kaiju actually is, it seems harmless, though any concrete proof of the kaiju's true nature is greatly sought after.

Kaijune2025 - Day29: Vulfrot
Kaijune 2025 - Day 29: Corrosion This one also made me sick but that was because ever time I was working on the mouth I kept retching to get the pose right lol
[This is the prompt list I'm following] ===== BIO:
Found deep within the sewer system of Paris, Vulfrod is one of the smaller kaiju... but has not had a small impact.
Vulfrod has an interesting hunting method, as it spits acid whenever it smells prey, this acid strong enough to corrode metal and even some stone. It's not super picky about what it eats either, as it all eventually ends up a liquid for it to slurp up with its four mouths. It's not known exactly how Vulfrod got into the Paris sewers, but since it got there, it's caused multiple sewer failures and cave-ins from its acid spray.
The kaiju itself is still at large, though the KDF is currently trying to find an neutralize the kaiju, as well as figur out how many more there might be. Currently, Eco-K believes the kaiju may be a larval form of some other unknown kaiju, both due to its size and seemingly altricial anatomy.

Kaijune2025 - Day28: Vorpal
Tumblr media
Kaijune 2025 - Day 28: Mirror Decided to go with an alternate definition for the word mirror lol. Pretty proud of the shading on the red and grey here, too.
[This is the prompt list I'm following] ===== BIO:
Spotted fighting kaiju worldwide, the unknown masked titan Vorpal has gained prominence, especially in indo-malay archipelago, Australia, and New Zealand. Many online has wondered who the titan is, or who's banner they fly under, as Engravita has been seen multiple times before and after Vorpal's appearance, the Ascent has expressed no ownership of them even as Vorpal has successfully taken down multiple kaiju, leaving only Muzefortei as an option, who hasn't been seen since the defeat of the Cursed King.
Further muddying the water is her suit itself. It mimics multiple of the titans' designs... though they notably lack any gravity-manipulation, but have what could be an even more bizarre ability: they can reshape metal and flesh.. probably. It's unknown if Vorpal is actually a giant construct created by a normal-sized human, or a titan who can reshape themselves. Notably though, they must have some sort of knowledge on kaiju attacks of the past, as pictured here, Vorpal's hand is in the shape of the long-dead kaiju Viserynx's head.
As for the name given to them, Vorpal has been seen before fights hyping up a non-existent crowd and treating fights more like boxing matches than life-or-death battles, also putting on a much stronger 'hero' persona than the other three titans. This alongside their cherry read armor with cyan lights has caused some to equate the titan to a lost Instant Machine pilot who named their machine "Vorpal", and was active in the same areas before she went missing.
As of yet, their true identity is unknown, but the nickname Vorpal has stuck.

Kaijune2025 - Day27: Mysarchil
Tumblr media
Kaijune 2025 - Day 27: Oversized ISTG drawing the main body felt like miniature painting lol
[This is the prompt list I'm following] ===== BIO:
Seen multiple times in many different desert areas, from Australia's outback, the Shara Desert in Africa, to the mesas of the USA, this strange lizard-like kaiju may either be a species who've colonized multiple different areas, or a single individual capable of crossing oceans. This would be especially impressive, since rather than wings, their patagium-like membrane is made up of their elongated cheek flaps, of which fold up like pterosaur wings when grounded.
More than just used for flying, Mysarchil actually has two lenses in the centre of each cheek, which similar to a pupil can be dilated in order to change the shape of the lens. These lenses are used to focus light on a single area and set it on fire, Mysarchil's gliding abilities and lens control being so refined that they can track an escaping animal for miles, allowing them to cook their prey just by flying overhead. This ablity means they only really eat cooked meat, making them next to humans as one of the few species who regularly eat cooked meat.
Another odd trait is their eye placements, having two near their collarbone, and a single pointed to the sky. It;s assumed that they're laid out like this due to their mouth being open most of the time and blocking their sight were their eyes not to be placed on their nape.

Kaijune2025 - Day26: Lukordyst infected Tyelsari
Tumblr media
Kaijune 2025 - Day 26: Parasitic I basically had to design 3 entire kaiju here lmao. Also I got physically sick while researching stuff for this lol
[This is the prompt list I'm following] ===== BIO:
Seemingly appearing out of nowhere in southern China, an odd trio of kaiju were found in the forest. Some sort of snail kaiju, given the name "Tyelsari" was being parasitized by two other kaiju, some sort of wasp, and a fungus-like kaiju which was given the name "Lukordyst."
Seeming to either try and find a good place to release its spores, or simply releasing them as it moved, the Lukordyst infected Tyelsari moved around aimlessly in the southern Chinese forests, the wasps that had made a nest in the Tyelsari's back collecting random biomass and bringing it back, not being picky at all with what the brought to the shell hive.
There's two current hypotheses on what the wasps are doing. The first is that the wasps are in a similar relationship with the Lukordyst as leafcutters are to the fungi they grow at the centre of their nests, simply gathering food to cultivate more of Lukordyst to feed on. Some disagree though, as hypothetically, there's plenty enough biomass for the fungus to feed on, that being the Tyelsari itself, so there'd be no need for the wasps to farm more of the fungus.
This is where the second hypothesis comes in: the wasps and fungus are one. Some bystanders have noticed the wasps themselves have no mouth, and are also the same colour as the Lukordyst fungus itself, so perhaps the Lukordyst wasps are an extension of the fungus, and they're bringing food back in order to feed some unknown third morph, likely some sort of unseen elate. This runs into the same issue as the first hypothesis though, as the elate would hypothetically need only to feed on the Telsari, so neither has total proof.
Eco-K and the KDF are keeping close tabs on the duo or trio, the KDF not wanting to kill them outright just in case it causes a massive spore explosion.

KaiJune2025 - Day25: Chilappra
Tumblr media
Kaijune 2025 - Day 25: Encrusted Actually inspired by a video by a Vtuber who talks about biology facts lol
[This is the prompt list I'm following] ===== BIO:
Deep in the snowy mountains of Chile, Chilappra spend years at a time in one spot. Using their back legs to cover themselves, they coat their back legs with old exoskeleton and frass in order to create a small layer of pseudo-soil above them to insulate themselves from the cold and to hide themselves. It seems they only move when temperatures change or when they run out of local nutrients, thus making them pretty harmless kaiju, as they live far away from most settlements.
As for feeding habits, they have a ginormous proboscis, it able to reach more than half a kilometre into the ground, and is used to probe around for roots and other soil creatures. This absurdly lengthy mouth is likely what allows them to stay in one place for so long. It has been noted though that this proboscis is left behind after they're one with a region, so they don't actually store the entire mouth part in their bodies, but rather build it up over time.

Kaijune2025 - Day24: Kayamiina
Tumblr media
Kaijune 2025 - Day 24: Brambles The Serina parallels are entirely coincidental, I swear.
[This is the prompt list I'm following] ===== BIO:
Found in the jungles of Borneo, Kayamiina has been described as a 'squid-faced chicken' by some locals. Although mostly harmless to humans (outside of usual kaiju dangers), Kayamiina itself has shown itself to be one of the few kaiju who eat exclusively other kaiju, and will entirely ignore other food sources. The way it does this is by using its facial tentacles to either ensnare or lacerate the target, them use its large tail to deliver finishing blows. While it will also kick in fights, Kayamiina seems to do this more as way to get space between them and their prey, or a secondary grapple point to pin down their targets.
Eco-K is currently running experiments on seeing how big a target has to be in order for them to attack, as even some mechs have been not been attacked. Either this means they only go after exceedingly large kaiju, or that their mental faculties are high enough for them to distinguish between machine and biological beings. Eco-K is also monitoring them to see if it will allow them to get hints on where to explore next to find new kaiju.
Meanwhile, the KDF have since promised the population to set up outposts near where the kaiju was first spotted as an early warning in order to subdue kaiju.

KaiJune2025 - Day23: Altangloid
Tumblr media
KaiJune 2025 - Day 23: Chimera Fun fact: this is a modified version of what I was going to do for the Tempura prompt.
[This is the prompt list I'm following] ===== BIO:
Arising out of the sea and onto a rocky shore in northern Japan, a strange, clearly amalgamated creature dragged itself ashore. The Altangloid, as it came to be called, caused local and ongoing chaos. Being obviously an amalgam of an Alter (assumed to be the one that disappeared in the first Stator fight), some parasites coming off of the Great Tangle, and what appears to be a few Sigcophon zooids, this development has left world governments weary of the Ascent's new machines.
Luckily Eco-K was nearby, and since all of their offensive machines can work from range, Ekou and a couple of Eco-K's own Nailguns were able to temporarily subdue the amalgam and set up an exclusion zone around it. Due to being made both of a parasite that's known to attach to all flesh, and what's presumed to be King's Flesh, which is also known to assimilate biomass, nobody is allowed in just in case they get assimilated, Eco-K and the KDF both working with the government of the local region to figure out how to properly dispose of the body.
The Ascent has been silent on this issue, as it seems their new machines may have as detrimental an effect as the Cursed King's constructs. Some have also equated the red parasite on the Great Tangle to King's Flesh, and wonder if that parasite are some sort of evolved version of it.

KaiJune2025 - Day22: Fe'Sodroxl
Tumblr media
KaiJune 2025 - Day 22: Voxels Man I got real busy today. Had to just do what came to mind first.
[This is the prompt list I'm following] ===== BIO:
A strange anomaly found deep within the tundra of Russia, Fe'Sodroxl is assumed to be another extradimensional being, though out of all of them so far, they're the most inanimate looking. Even at their most inanimate previously, like Ophar or Spirahedrul, they still had limbs or some sort of recognizable organic portion to their forms, but Fe'Sodroxl? Nothing, basically just a shape.
Luckily, or unluckily for the surrounding area, Fe'Sodroxl has remained in the exact same spot for a few weeks now, allowing it to be easily studied. Curiously, the KDF were the first to set up a research base near the giant mass, but at this point, Eco-K, the Ascent, and even multiple countries have set up shop around the area, though sure to not get too close.
The reason for this trepidation? The ground around Fe'Sodroxl voxelates, and isn't picky about what it does it to. Multiple animals, plants, and even portions of kaiju have been found all amassed into the giant cubes it turns the ground into. It's assumed this disformation is caused by the odd 'beams' or 'roots' that come out of the bottom of Fe'Sodroxl, though luckily, these roots have not travelled further than their current position.

KaiJune2025 - Day21: Resamburio
Tumblr media
KaiJune 2025 - Day 21: Tempura Another one that took me a long-ass time to do. Hope this doesn't set a trend for the last 10 kaiju this week
[This is the prompt list I'm following] ===== BIO:
Found deep within the amazon rainforest, underground in an impossibly massive tangle of tree roots the Resamburio were found. What at first were assumed to be tree roots actually seems to be an entirely new plant or fungus that creates massive hollow mounds that accumulate soil over time in order to create an internal ecosystem to nourish itself. Though not known if it is flora or mushroom, the current name given to these massive structures are "Basket Mounds", of which the Resamburio take advantage of.
Covering themselves in a layer of sap-like resin produced by Basket Mounds, they use their forelegs to burrow into the bark and then use their secondary limbs, which have a comb structure at their feet, to cover their heads and necks with. Either though a chemical reaction with the Resamburio's skin, or possibly an innate property of the Basket Mound's resin, it quickly hardens into an amber-like substance, which the Resamburio takes pains to style into specific shapes. It's thought it's used for mate selection, but currently this is unconfirmed.
Despite being somewhat of a pest to the Basket Mounts, what with puncturing them for their amber, Resamburio have been seen feeding on parasites that live on or deep inside the roots/branches of the Basket Mounds, doing an especially good job of eating the unknown kaiju that make galls on Basket Mounds.

KaiJune2025 - Day20: Stator
Tumblr media
Kaijune 2025 - Day 20: Unicycle I actually had an entirely different drawing almost complete before I switched to this concept. That's why it's so late.
[This is the prompt list I'm following] ===== BIO:
After half a year of silence, the KDF suddenly come back onto the scene. After a fight between a kaiju and an Alter unit, which once again goes berserk, an extremely speedy mech, later named the M6-01 Stator flanked by a few Wheelers quickly engaged with the Alter.
The Stator itself was a very unique mech compared to the KDF's older machines, standing on a single set of wheels and most interestingly - multiple set of gravity repulsers, tech clearly reversed engineered from Engravita's suit. As noted by the KDF after the encounter, they have apparently been unable to mimic Engravita's gravity control tech... until now. Although not as strong, the Stator was shown picking up small portions of the road and using them as weapons. The Stator was also stated to not be a replacement for the Wheelers, and rather a close-combat mech as opposed to the Wheelers' ranged combat.
Not much else is known about the KDF's return, though the Ascent has called foul play, and blamed the original berserk incident on the KDF trying to tarnish their names. Interesting though... the Alter that was eventually beaten went missing after their battle. It's unknown where it went.

KaiJune2025 - Day19: Axodibrata
Tumblr media
KaiJune 2025 - Day 19: Autotomy Genuinely might be my favourite design I've done this challenge so far.
[This is the prompt list I'm following] ===== BIO:
A kaiju that's appeared a few times in passing, but finally spotted in full on a sand, rocky beach off the shores of Scotland, Axodibrata is a scavenger, fleeting glances having been seen around dead kaiju, leaving distinctive Y-shaped bites on the carcasses. Their tails, which at first were assumed to be a juvenile form or an entirely different kaiju altogether, can move autonomously, not only this, but have eyes of their own, as well a pseudo-mouths which bite at and clamp onto enemies.
Being a small kaiju, it rarely fights, usually dropping one or two of its tails before scampering off, but can actually drop every single on of their tails if needed, though this forces them into a quadrupedal stance. The still do us these tails whilst fighting, using them like little helpers to restrain or distract as they go in for a kill show with their large toe claws or single-fingered arms.
Since it's been found worldwide, it's assumed the kaiju can swim, despite not looking like it can, but the presence of external gills on its head implies it may be able to.

KaiJune2025 - Day18: The Brine Mummy
Tumblr media
KaiJune 2025 - Day 18: Desiccated Referenced A LOT of meat jerky to get the texture and colour right lol
[This is the prompt list I'm following] ===== BIO:
Found in a newly discovered island in the Mediterranean, it's hypothesized that this island used to be some sort of brine pool that got drained due to multiple underground events in the past years, revealing the dried-out corpse of an unknown kaiju. Simply known as "The Brine Mummy", it's gathered quite a bit of attention. Not only is it partially preserved due to essentially being salt-cured in this drained brine pool for who knows how long, the Brine Mummy itself is able to keep itself upright. No-one has dared touch it, worried that it might fall apart, and researchers are wondering what to do with the massive corpse, the close monitoring of it has revealed... odd things about the mummy.
First - Every once in awhile, water will begin leaking from the mummy, despite the water level in the brine pool only diminishing as the days pass. Second - The mummy has noticeably shifted from its original location, implying some sort of locomotion. How a kaiju could survive being so thoroughly dried out and split in half is unknown, and scientists are trying to figure out if he kaiju is in suspended animation, or if it's some sort of weather phenomenon (similar to the sailing stones) that are causing the Brine Mummy to move.

KaiJune2025 - Day17: Praunstag
Tumblr media Tumblr media
KaiJune 2025 - Day 17: Mirage First time I've ever had to include two images for any of my kaijune drawings... but I don't think there was any other way to showcase its abilities lol
[This is the prompt list I'm following] ===== BIO:
Found deep within the Sahara, Praunstag is a sort of mammalian kaiju with one of the more unique abilities found within non-extradimensional kaiju: it can exhale a powder that reflects light, acting like a mirror that, from afar, makes it so the kaiju is almost invisible. This fact is likely why the kaiju hasn't been found until now despite living in one of the least kaiju-dense regions of the world. Most interesting about this powder is that everything under the cloud becomes a couple degrees colder, and most of the light is removed. This likely developed as a way to trick desert animals (and likely undiscovered partially fossorial kaiju) into thinking its night, only for Praunstag to dig them out of the ground and eat them.
Due to its ability, this kaiju is extremely difficult to photograph, the one on the right being the colour photo version, and the one on the left being a UV imaged version that shows what the kaiju looks like under the veil.
