April Favorites
Hello April, hello summer! I've finally the time to blog once again!~ I've also the time to pamper myself! Lets talk about some of my favorite April products yes? :D
Products listed above (From left-right):
Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture Aloe Gel
Pure Beauty Youth Restore Eye Cream
Snoe Here Comes The Sunblock
Bench Muse Perfume
Kojie-san Acid Soap
Penshoppe Foundation
Quaker Instant Oatmeal With Milk
Aussie Split End Protector
Dove Whitening Deodorant
If I had to pick any product out of all my vanity drawer, It'd be the Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera Soothing Gel!~ I absolutely adore this product and use it all the time! On my face, my body, my legs, etc. I usually use this as a primer every morning and a substitute for night creams. Since I find night creams and night packs heavy on the face, I just use this and every morning when I wake up, I wake up to a smooth face that makes application of baby powder/foundation/bb cream very easy! You can get this item for the price of 200+ pesos. For a 300ml tube and a multi-functional product, that's worth the price!~
Since summer is approaching fast (though it doesn't feel like it since it's been raining alot here in Manila), one of the things I worry about is having a good sunblock. I was searching for the perfect sunblock when I came across Snoe's Here Comes The Sunblock SPF45. Can't say it's the perfect sunblock but it's not bad either. It's made with singkamas thus making it smell sooooo good!~ It's 100ml for P199 and can be found in Landmark, Trinoma.
Since we're talking about summer, I was also in a search of a new perfume. I've been on/off with Victoria's Secret's Pure Seduction since I was in 8th grade and I wanted something new. I went to Bench initially to get the perfume 'I Rock Bench', a scent I've used as well before, but that's when I found this sweet smelling scent. I reckon it came out just recently since Jinky Pacquiao has only been a Bench endorser. It cost around 170.
Next is Pure Beauty's Youth Restore Eye Cream. From my first year of college, I earned myself eye bags. I actually got this product by mistake, thinking it was P99. It's actually 299 so imagine my face when the lady told me I had to pay 300 for it. I didn't bother telling the counter lady I wasn't getting it. I needed it anyways. Can't say I've seen improvements yet but its a very pleasing product so you should try it out for yourself!~

When my girlfriends slept over last week, they thought it was funny that I had 2 soaps in my bathroom. But the thing is, I use a different soap for my face and my body. For my body, I use Kojie-san Acid Soap. Always a favorite! You can get the sachet type for only P20.50
For my hair, a product that I have recently been loving is Aussie's split-end protector. I've had this for 3 months now and recently started to use it. It's not available here in the Philippines but you can always try ebay.
Next is Dove's whitening spray deo. This is a P99 deodorant but hands down on this; smells wonderful and the scent lasts the whole entire day!~
Then there's oatmeal!~~ You might be wondering what in the world is this doing here but oatmeal is actually really great for the skin! Every other day I wash my face with a mild soap like Dove and make an oatmeal mask. I leave it on for 15 minutes thus resulting into a very soft, baby skin-like, skin~
Lastly is Penshoppe's Foundation with SPF15. I've tried many foundations before including Maybelline, Tony Moly, and more but this is the most I've liked. It's very light on the skin and doesn't break me out. It also doesn't clog my pores and neither doesn't clump on my face. It's a very sheer foundation and feels very nice on the skin. Not so sure about the price but it's around P150-P215.
So there we have it folks! Have a happy April and don't forget to finish any look with your favorite usamimi headband! Hihi~ Til next time!~

Nature Republic Haul: Soothing & Moisture Toner and Emulsion Review

As you guys know, I had my first Nature Republic Haul awhile back and one of the things I purchased was the Aloe Soothing & Moisture 80% Toner and 70% Emulsion as a replacement to the Aloe Moistfull Moisturizer my brother jacked from me, lol. weeks has passed since I've first started using these two products so I thought it was about time I make a review about these two.

Let's first start with the Soothing & Moisture 80% Toner. There's two words I can say about this toner: LOVE IT! The ingredients are posted as above so you can check those out. The toner does a good job cleaning after I wash my face. I use this every morning and sometimes when I'm home, I don't even bother using the moisturizer or anything else. All I put on is this toner and I'm good for the day. Not only does it clean my face well, it's also very soothing and moisturizer, as the name claimed! The toner has a little thick consistency, and maybe that's what makes it so soothing and moisturizing. I usually top my face with moisturizer and bb cream every morning. But sometimes, all I really put on my face is this and I feel as if I'm good to go, primp as ever! Will I purchase again? YES! Plus, it's really cheap~ It was only P200+~~ I've already used 25%! Hohoho~ So, here's the final verdict to this toner. Pros: + Thick substance that's very moisturizing!~ + Scent is just right. Smells very much like any aloe product + Cleans the left over dirt that my cleanser failed to tend to + Cheap!~ Cons: - None that I can think of
Overall Rating: Packaging: 4/5 -Nothing special about it honestly, haha. Natural Skin Feel: 5/5 -Almost feels as if I'm wearing a second skin! Feels very light on the face and so so soothing and moisturizing, as it's name claims! Scent: 4/5 -Smells like any aloe product. It's not too strong, not too mild. Coverage: 5/5 -As I said, soothing and moisturizing! No complains from me.
This is a long ass review. HAHA. But I'm halfway done so stick with me, yes? Now for the second half, my thoughts on the Soothing & Moisture Emulsion.

I use this aloe emulsion every morning after the aloe toner. It comes in a bottle type but there is no pump or anything. I dislike the fact that there isn't a pump because it's what I prefer. I have to squeeze the bottle just to get emulsion out of it.

It's a so and so product for me. Though I feel as if it isn't the perfect emulsion/moisturizer for me so I may not purchase this again. Maybe it'll just be as an alternative since it's cheap and easy to buy from the store. Overall Rating: Packaging: 3/5 -Nothing special about it, but the squeezing thing kind of turned me off. Natural Skin Feel: 5/5 -As the name claims, it's very moisturizing! Scent: 4/5 -Smells like any aloe product. It's not too strong, not too mild. Coverage: 5/5 -Moisturizing, just like the toner. There goes my penny on these two products. They're not bad products and I actually love love love the toner. Be sure to check these two out at your local Nature Republic stores. If there isn't any stores in your local town/area, I can always do a personal survey for you!~ Thanks for reading! ^^

Tony & Jackey Review: L'oreal Extenso Rebonding

It's been long overdue for the review of my T&J experience but I wanted to see how my hair would actually turn out after a month of getting it done to see it's actual outcome. I've read mixed reviews about this salon and some of my Korean friends since high school have told me that the salon is as good as any other known salons such as Davids and Ricky Reyes. I've searched reviews from Ricky Reyes since they had a promo going on for rebonds last month but to my misfortune, they were mostly negative. Not really pleased with my David's experience last year, I decided to take my chances on T&J. At the time, their promo of P4,000 that included rebonding, haircut, and keratin treatment was still ongoing so that was what I decided to go for.
Since I live in Fairview, I decided to go to the SM Fairview T&J Branch. Honestly, I was really surprised to find a branch there. If you're reading this and is surprised, I won't blame you because it's actually in the very end of the annex part of the building, in front of Teleperformance, above Kultura store.
Anyways, I got there around 11:30-12 noon and I was surprised to find no one there getting their looks done and re-done. I was really glad for this because I wanted the stylist to be concentrated on me (and I was sure glad he was). There, I was welcomed with friendly staffs. My stylist was a guy named Eric and at first I was really hesitant since I really wanted a girl stylist to get my hair rebonded. While shampooing my hair, the assistant told me that it was his first day there (and about 2 weeks in the Philippines) and that Jackey has just left the previous day. It kind of bummed me out that I didn't get to have Jackey himself style my hair but oh well, I was much more excited to have super duper straight hair again.
The rebonding process took 5 hours, much better compared to David's which is usually 7 hours. My stylist was very fun to talk to but had a clumsy manner. There was even a point where I was really scared that he might drop the straightener on my face or something and knowing me, a person who's thoughts just comes after the other, I was very terrified of the image. But of course, I knew he wouldn't. T&J wouldn't have hired him if he was that clumsy haha. If you ever have him as a stylist, don't be afraid. He's fun to chat with and very professional. He's lived in Singapore, Europe, and so much more places. He was very nice to me, even giving me a free bananaque, which I truly appreciated.
Now, silly me, I forgot to take a before picture so I'll just share compiled pictures of me with how my hair looked like prior to getting it straightened.

Thick, coarse, split ends ... some of the few problems I have with my hair. Terrible, right? Most of the times, I have to put it in a ponytail so that I won't be bothered with it. I especially hate it when it comes to commuting. Riding the jeepney is oh so painful especially when the wind is going against your face. It totally kills all the time I spent combing it.
Now, what does the outcome look like after one month? Here it goes.

So much better than that thick hair of mine. I didn't exactly follow my stylists tips however. It's a known fact that you should not wet the hair for at least 3 days but it doesn't make any difference if you wet it after the 2nd day. I wet mine after the 2nd day (not even, more like less than 2 days, HAHA) and it still came out well. They tell you not to wet it for 3 days so that the vitamins they put will really be placed firmly to the roots of your hair but actually, the vitamins are already settled into the roots the moment they place it. All you really have to do is give it a day to settle and another day to play safe.
Another thing he told me was to condition my hair for 3 weeks. I did not follow this as well, lol. I think I only conditioned for 3 days or so and after that, I started shampooing again.
My hair is straight and soft and not flat straight, just the way I like it. So to sum it all up, what do I think of my first ever T&J experience? Wonderful! Even my parents have complimented me about it, which they never did before!~~

Nature Republic Haul!

Fruits Morning Fruits Shower Gel (Green Grape) - P220
Aloe Soothing & Moisture Emulsion - P295
Aloe Soothing & Moisture Toner - P295
Aloe Soothing & Moisture Soothing Gel - P220
Collagen BB Cream SPF25/PA++ - Freebie
During my stay in Chicago the last 2 weeks, my brother used the Etude House Aloe Moistful Moisturizer and ended up loving it since he has really dry skin during the winters. Now that I'm back in the Philippines, the first thing I prioritized was getting myself a moisturizer~ I was on my way to Etude House to buy another one when I passed by Nature Republic. I've been meaning to shop here but it opened in SM Fairview during those times when my sched was really hectic T.T I went in with the intention of not getting anything and just to look around but my attention was caught when I saw that they had their own version of an Aloe moisturizer kkk~ Since I love anything with aloe, I looked through it and ended up liking the smell and how it felt on my skin. And since it was soooo way cheaper than the Etude Moisturizer my compulsive shopper side said 'Why the heck not?!' HEEHEE~~ I only intended to buy the toner, moisturizer, and shower gel but then the lady said that if I purchase up to P1,000, I'll get a discount card. Since the three totaled to P800+ already, I said I'll add one more. I asked the bestseller and she showed me the aloe soothing gel. I was surprised that such a big tub (300 mL) only cost P220 so I decided to add it. I also got a free trial BB Cream! Woohoo~~ Now, this isn't really a review, just a rant on how my haul went. I will try these products tonight and real soon I will review them one by one. Watch out for these!~ If you have any questions or products that you'd like for me to review, let me know and drop me a message in the ask box!~~
