Happy Lesbian Visibility Week! Reminder that you deserve love, self love and whatever else it is that you’re looking for ♥️

I remember it was about this time last year that I really came to terms with the fact that I wasn’t bisexual, but lesbian. It took me so many years to realize it because of how desperately I wanted to hold onto that sliver of ‘normalcy’ that I could clench onto with that label. I wanted to pretend that I could choose who I was attracted to, pretend that I could be who the people in my life wanted me to be, ignoring who I was. But I’ve never been happier about my sexuality & identity since I decided to stop pretending- hiding from myself.

Younger me would be shivering in her boots just at a peek of where we are now. Happy and Proud. It used to be so hard to let go of the things that I thought I wanted with men, that I could only have with them, but looking through my new perspective I feel that I gained so much more than I ‘lost’ from not being heteronormative/ able to be with men.

To anyone still discovering who they are or struggling with it because of the pressure of the world or the people around you, take your time to love who YOU are. Be patient with yourself and don’t rush to find anything out, you’ll understand what you need to when it’s your time. And the right people who will love you for you are out there, just waiting. ♥️
