🩺 My Story & Why I Need Your Help 🩺

Hey Tumblr—Eric here, nonbinary person, age 38 in Tucson, AZ. Since childhood I’ve dealt with:

POTS (a form of dysautonomia)

Diabetes Insipidus

Atrial Septal Defect (“hole in the heart”)

Except I did not know this. All I had was the occasional fatigue, and excessive thirst. I raised the issue to my emotionally neglectful and at times abusive parents who dismissed it as "an excuse" and "being lazy". I pressed and they eventually took me to a doctor in my teen years who also dismissed me.

My medical team says the permanent damage and severe symptoms I now suffer were likely preventable if I’d seen the right specialists as a kid. This was figured out only recently. When I brought it up to my father and asked for some help, he once again dismissed me. Now my only option is to take legal action. Now I’m racing against Arizona’s “discovery rule” to file a claim—and I need a retainer FAST.

Meanwhile, I’m struggling each month to pay:

Medications & supplies

Uber rides to doctor visits

Rent & groceries
