I'm study Maths at university but I guiltily spend most of my time and money watching and reading things. If you think of something you'd like me to review, drop me a message and I'll see what I can do :) Have a nice day :) x

Book Review: You're The One That I Want by Giovanna Fletcher

Last year, on the train back to university I picked up my copy of 'Billy and Me' that I was lucky enough to win. I wondered whether my interest had been peaked due to stumbling across Giovanna through Tom and Carrie but I always have my nose stuck in a book so I thought why not, I'll give this a go!
I finished that book in one journey and she successfully had me weeping on a public bus! So, another book fell under my radar by the same author; 'You're The One That I Want'. So soon after the last book I must admit that I was a little sceptical that it could evoke the same reaction in me that 'Billy and Me' once had.
It's safe to say that I was wrong. The cover, blurb and title could possibly suggest that this was just another 'easy-read', another chick flick, another book you'll read, like, but possibly forget soon after. I want to stress how very wrong that is. Reading this book, I couldn't put it down - yes, it was an easy read in the sense that it wasn't challenging - and that it was a page-turner - but not in a negative way, remotely.
The premise is simple; three friends, two guys and a girl - and it's a bit of a love triangle... It is so much more than that. As a reader who finds herself emotionally invested and very opinionated when it comes to characters and story lines, it was very interesting to me that I didn't know which romance I was routing for even as I reached the final page.
This book addresses the difficulty in having friendships for years, hitting puberty and struggling with levels of sexual tension - not to mention all the emotions that run along side that.
The interjectional paragraphs in italics , every few chapters, broke the flow of the story but not in a negative sense - it really added to plot and fluctuating between past and present added a nice parallel.
Congratulations Gi, you've done it again! I would definitely recommend!

Reviewer Initiation!
Hiya,
I know I'll be late on a few band wagons here - such as I've only just picked up the first Game of Thrones book - but I'm really interested in reviewing things, keeping an actual log on my (hopefully unbiased) opinions.
I'm a complete nerd and love all things of the geekery-nerdy nature and would watch and read everything known to human kind if I could...
Anything that you think I should begin with, reblog and let me know! Despite this being a relatively short first post, I'm usually quite vocal and opinionated - start me off! :)
Welcome, xx
