Back at it with my Elia posting this time featuring Rhaegar and including a nice sketch from a larger unfinished piece that will never see the light of day cuz i hate it. Now I know this is not the popular consensus but my interpretation of them and their relationship is that they did care for eachother while simultaneously having different perceptions of eachother, they both think they know the other fully and that they're on the same page but that's just not true. I'd like to think that Elia knew of the prophecy but always though that Rhaegar would but their family above the want to fulfill it, while Rhaegar thought that Elia knew how important the prophecy was and that he needed to fulfill it by any means necessary. This makes his actions so much more wounding for Elia because they make her realise that she never truly knew him, that the idea she had of him was never real.

I usually don't post much of my art of the main series characters due to the fact that I struggle capturing the very crystal clear images I have of them in my head but I'm actually quite satisfied with how this turned out. I had quite a lot of fun trying to piece together what Sansa dress style would look like at this particular part in her timeline, a stange mix of court fashion with hints of northern influence and style used simultaneously as small acts of defence, a comfort blanket of sorts and an affirmation of her identity as Sansa Stark of Winterfell. I could yap and yap and yap about this but I'll spare you the word vomit dear scroller.

🕊️ Nadin’s Hope: A Mother, A Memory, A Future

Hello, my name is Nadin I’m from Gaza. I’m a graphic design graduate. I’m a wife. And now — I’m a mother.

I finished my design studies just before the war began. I had dreams of starting a small design studio, of making art that told stories. I used to think about colors, fonts, sketches. I used to think about the future.

Then the war came. And the future became something we tried to hold onto, moment by moment.

On October 22, 2023, I was pregnant when a missile destroyed my husband’s family home. 25 members of our family were killed — his mother, his siblings, his nieces and nephews, children. Entire branches of a family tree gone in seconds.

We were displaced twice after that. Everything we had disappeared — home, safety, routine, rest.

A few weeks later, I gave birth to our daughter. There was no crib. No stillness. No celebration.

But she came into the world quietly and beautifully. And in her eyes, I saw something I hadn’t felt in weeks: life that still wanted to grow.

Now, I spend my days holding her and trying to build a world around her that doesn’t shake with explosions.

We don’t know what comes next. There is no clear path. We are walking toward the unknown, step by step — with our daughter in our arms and hope as our guide.

Shout out to who ever at hbo suggested they make those asoiaf history segments narrated by the actors in character truly one of the best decision made regarding got. So influential to me that while i was reading fire and blood i kept thinking humm how would Viserys narrate this, I wonder how much of Dany's knowledge of her family is actually historical facts and how much is just her brother's cunty comments.

On an angstier note I find it so heartbreaking that at that point in their lives before the full weight of their predicament broke Viserys he was just a big brother telling his little sister bedtime stories about epic fights on dragonback, nobel kings and their knights and beautiful princesses in beautiful castles. Truly top tier Shaylas.

One possible dynamic i think isn't talked about enough in this fandom is Rhaella and Elia, like there's so many possible angles to how these two would feel about eachother and interact with eachother, like one of Rhaella's closest friend was Elia's mother was it possible that in short time they could spend with eachother that Rhaella was remainded of a time when she had people close to her she could lean on and trust, what were Elia's feelings about how her mother in law was being treated and the fact that noone would or could help her.

My religious fanatic pookies. What kind of relationship these two had with eachother is such a fascinating topic to me, like did seeing Naerys' miserable marriage to her brother inspire or add fuel to the idea of creating the Maidenvault, did Naerys ever look at Baelor's refusal to consumate his marriage to his sister and wish he had been her older brother instead, did they ever pray or fast together, it's suggested that Aegon's diplomatic mission was just an excuse to keep him away from Naerys after she lost the twins so clearly he cared for her enough to do that, was that gesture appreciated by her. I'm quite compelled by the idea of these two genuinely caring for eachother and finding solace in a shared faith while also pushing eachother into increasingly more and more self destructive and harmful habits like long health ruining fasts and hours spent kneeling at the sept and praying ugh i could yap for hours about them.
