Remaking characters bios/lineup with a fun idea i had

Random bits of TPP lore I felt like changing because:

Unnaturals are a recent appearance. as recent as the 50s. (previously is was the beginning of the last century but I thought of bringing it to the mid century so that it's a more recent supernatural phenomenon and that studying them is a recent science)

They didn't just come out of nowhere. there was the first instance was a giant that appeared out of a fracture in the sky in Union, causing a catastrophe thats shaped the city. since then unnaturals big and small have been appearing. one day I'll get into specifics.

Magic system update 1: Getting rid of the unnatural color tiers.

(this) I think it was a fun and was meant to be an easy tell to understand threat level. but I feel like it confused the overall magic system. I think I'll still keep the colorful cores and stuff in design but not over complicate it.

4. Magic system update 2: Getting rid of poten types. (previously there were 3 distinct type; Materialization, manipulation, and Elemental.) Similar to update 1, it felt like a fun idea but over complicated the magic system. And I want the magic system to be more softer and I feel like an audience can understand people having different abilities without having to specifically categorize it.

5. The addition of more past significant events. not anything specific but just a worldbuilding note for me to add important events unnaturals have caused in union to really make the world feel thought it lol. bc it's a recent thing I feel like that in current day there are people still alive that should remember these events affecting their lives.

6. Character update: I was debating it but I decided that Clarissa is not poten anymore. Robyn, Lucas and Mark felt really tied to their powers but as a developed her she didn't feel as tied to have supernatural abilities bc it felt like was becoming more practical. And I like the idea that only half the team actually has abilities. and I really like the idea of clarissa thinking having cool powers makes her more interesting to people especially her crush. And trying anything possible to get them but never becoming poten is a fun dynamic. as a creative person she ends up being a important part of the team with just and old beat up baseball bat.

before pride month's over, given that the poten kids are queer can you pls talk more abt each of the kids came to terms w figuring out their identities?

Sure!

Robyn is a slowburn so she works out her feels overtime and can be a bit complicated for her to parse through herself. While she does like guys, she feels the most comfortable around girls, and especially feeling like they'll understand her feelings more. She would write about it in her journal but not talk about a whole lot about except with people she's very close with. Robyn did have some mutual feelings for her old bestie, Maya, but was still figuring out her feelings. She's not the type to make the first move, and when she left those feels became complicated since she left Ravenwood so suddenly.

I joke that Lucas likes scary bitches lol but I think he likes people that complement his energy whether masculine or feminine. His family (at least his parents and his moms side) are very open, so he's comfortable with being bi and liking masc and fem things. Tho Lucas tries to be very chill like "whatever idagf" I think it's self consciousness he has about being explicit about his real emotions. he's still a teen so he's working it out.

Kenzie is a pretty confidant person and sure of herself but it makes her not the greatest at concealing her emotions among other things. So this leads her to be willing to explore her feelings for someone even if it's potential.

For Mark it was a point of contention with his family, specifically his father. He didn't like Mark's gentle disposition, didn't take part in his interests or like his friends. while his parents where divorcing, mark spent a lot of time at his Lucas's place where he felt more comfortable being himself. Now that's it's just him and his mom he felt like his the room to happily be himself.

I think Clarissa is someone who can be nervous about liking girls. Not necessarily flustered but channel it into her friendliness since she wants to be close but is not always sure they'll like her back or want to be more than friends. Clarissa' s comfortable telling Mark and Lucas and honestly if they can play wingman for her if not ready to be direct with her feelings yet.

okay Blake! He takes sometime. he doesn't begin really working out his identity till post high school when he's like working on his whole life crisis thing. I think he starts with the potential being bi as he dated different girls in hs but would have feelings for guys too that became apparent. Being in this friend group I think allowed him to be more assured of himself and being gay than just wanting to impress others.
