still thinking about this and what it implies about their dynamic in the middle seasons... somewhere in between the period of them leaving the gay stuff mutually unspoken and the period after mac came out was This. of course dennis was getting a thrill out of pushing mac as far as he could and playing with his guilt. of course he was actively seducing and then gaslighting him to see how it fucks with his head. something about dennis's habit of "testing the tensile strength of a crow's neck." yes things got weird after mac came out because it suddenly got too real for dennis but there's also this added layer of him missing this Very Particular game that was not only getting him off for years but also supplying him the sense of control he's always chasing. and mind you all of this was happening while dennis was shamelessly enticed by the same pen, just using the thrill of the game to disguise it internally. and of course he attempted to go back to that game now that their dynamic finally settled back to how it used to be.

johnny was dennis just playing mac the exact same way he's been playing him for years.

he also complained about mac's snoring in gets analyzed implying they were sleeping in the same bed at some point in s7.. and mac and johnny were together when mac and dennis were sharing the inflatable bed in s16.. i feel insane

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is a wild show because it says, here are a group of terrible, irredeemable people who are codependent in unimaginable ways. They will never, ever get better - in fact, they will get significantly worse. But there will be moments, little moments of genuine love and affection between them, and it will drive you crazy. And you will bear witness to times where the trauma they experienced as children possesses their body and they turn into scared little kids again. one of the few enjoyable parts in times up is when mac picks dee up by the pussy and she says "that's the highest he's ever gotten me!" - implying that they just do this on the reg for fun. worst siblings in law you've ever met activity.

what she means: In Hero or Hate Crime, Mac wasn't just upset about being called a slur, he was upset because of the history of the slur which means he must have been doing some research on LGBT history. This is further confirmed in The Gang gets New Wheels when he says that statistically one in five people will be gay. Mac has struggled with internalized homophobia his whole life and now not only is he openly gay and confident about it, but he's also learning as much as he can about LGBT rights and history. He's come really far and I'm proud of him

you know when mac and charlie beat up those kids in the gang gets new wheels they probably saved all the nerds and losers in some philly middle school from getting their asses beat for a few weeks. cause if those kids were bullying and stealing bikes from two grown men imagine what they were doing to the other kids at school...they must have been absolute menaces and karma got their ass in the form of two manchildren who got too many wedgies when they were young

hc that Dennis showed up at Mandy’s door at the end of season 12 and she went “absolutely not” so he had to rent a shitty apartment and live like sméagol for a month or however long before regaining some dignity to go crawling back to the gang
