"you don't owe anyone anything" You are a tar pit. Speak for yourself. I personally owe the cafe employees my dishes put away and my friends a listening ear and small scared insects a cup and a gentle trip outside. Hyperindividualism is a rancid infection borne of capitalism and willfully misinterpreted therapyspeak and I will defy it by continuing to be kind regardless of whether or not it benefits me personally

I have a type when it comes to shipping, it seems. Trobed, Tomitch, Johnlock... With their third who's a girl "in love" with one of them, of course.
I don't "ship" Kris and Susie so much as I picture them as two roommates who do everything together and yeah sometimes they kiss but when you ask if they're dating they just say that nah they're just "hanging out bein bros"

Are you saying there's a chance Sherlock Holmes was a Gay Ken Doll Incident
It’s very plausible that ACD based Sherlock Holmes' mannerisms on Oscar Wilde (genuinely, if you read some of Oscar’s quotes or how people described his speech and movements, they are very similar), which I find hilarious.
Because how could ACD have known that after 1895, Oscar Wilde's personality would become the definition of the “gay stereotype”
Since “A Study in Scarlet,” “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes,” “The Sign of the Four,” and “The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes” all came out pre-Oscar’s very public trial in 1895, where not only was Oscar’s homosexuality thrown out into the Victorian public, but the entire gay community in general and how they communicate.
IF ACD had met Oscar, knew he was gay, and purposefully based Holmes off him to be subtle queer coding (again, theory), and then Oscar gets publicly outed as being Gay, now it’s no longer just a “subtle nod”
But what is more likely is that ACD used Oscar as a reference for Holmes, not really thinking much about sexuality and then BOOM the trial happens, and now everything similar to Oscar is labelled as “gay”, so now ACD has “accidentally” made Sherlock gay

Mycroft : My little brother is here. I'd like you to help babysit, if it's not too much trouble.
Lestrade : Babysit? It would be my pleasure. How old is he?
Sherlock : (walking into the room) Twenty-five.

Mycroft darling if Anthea is bothering you getting a new assistant is always a possibility 😘
Why do you dye you hair black, babygirl? Stop it, my darling. Red suits you better, you're much sexier when you're ginger, love. And DI Lestrade (your lover) loves red btw.
Thank you, neverlet, for your unsolicited aesthetic opinion.
As for DI Lestrade’s preferences: I assure you, he speaks for himself. When necessary.

To everyone feeling that way, all I have to say is
"If your name is Melancholy
If love is now naught but a habit
Do not tell me your story
I know it
The loneliness"
i remember learning the word melancholy at age 7 or something and thinking oh this word's gonna be huge for me

Everyone is always quoting Sarte's "Hell is other people" and all, but I've never heard much about the play it comes from, "Huis Clos", other than that it inspired The Good Place. But I finally decided to read it (thanks to an old Matpat video), and like... WHAT. WAS ANYONE GOING TO TELL ME HOW FUCKING TO MY TASTES IT WAS??
Ok so it's like in The Good Place, right? Three people are sent to Hell, locked in a sitting room together, and there's one man and two women. And they were all specifically chosen to torture each other, basically. Garcin is this dude who was a journalist and always talking a big game about freedom and people's rights and all, but when he was drafted he claimed to be a pacifist and tried to run away, but got caught and executed. Estelle is this orphan who was raising her little brother and married an old rich dude to get that bag, and then fell in love with a younger guy, who got her pregnant. But she didn't want the baby, so when the baby was born, she late termed abortioned it.
And Inès. Oh, Inès. Inès is the most lesbian of lesbians to have ever lesbianned. She lived with her cousin and his wife, Florence. Slowly but surely, she began to conspire to get her to despise him, basically giving her the ick. "Doesn't he breathe too loud?" And then eventually her and Florence ran away together, but the dude got run over my a tram (I am pretty sure he killed himself), and she tells Florence that they killed him. She stays with Florence in a toxic yuri situationship until in the middle of the night, six months later, Florence turns on the gas and falls back to sleep in Inès' arms. They don't wake up.
And how they all torture each other is SO funny. Garcin is a womanizer that doesn't care about anyone more than himself, wich is torture to precious Estelle who learned to rely on men's affection for her self-esteem. She would do anything for a crumb of his affection, and that makes her all the less interesting to him. Inès is a man hater that finds them all weak and pathetic, and Garcin cares immensely that others find him admirable and brave. And Inès, well, hates men, and is clearly into Estelle, but well, Estelle quite literally spits in her face to get Garcin's attention.
Seriously you guys it is unhinged and just for the obvious lesbian yearning I would recommend reading it. A coward that hates women, a pick me girl, and a toxic lesbian. What a fucking team.

Fun fact: If you're uncomfortable with a group society deems as "undesirable", that's the propaganda working as intended. You don't get to ask for your feelings to pwetty pwease be considered when they stem from your part in the oppressive society you exist in. Deconstruct that shit!! You can't become a better person without feeling a little bad sometimes!
Im all for accommodating people whenever necessary and possible but also some of you have clearly never lived a day in discomfort in your life and have also never been outside in the real world
