I saw a tweet about not shipping Magno and Drusilla with their new casting because of the age gap (billy is 55 and Glenn is 78) and im like…

Those two are literally the most diabolical and uncoupled in the history of marriages ever!!!! They got married for tax purposes, shared evilness and shared hate for the districts.

And age gap is what people are worrying about? It’s not like people are gonna write fan fictions about them😣

ship them? Yeah sure. Just Put them together in a cell somewhere and keep them the hell away from me 😂😂😂😂

Haymitch and Effie similarities we know after sunrise on the reaping.

Well, since we know now a lot of lore and more info of our two favourites who we thought couldn’t be more different - now we have to see what is actually similar cause it fun 😉

1. they are both have a younger sibling (Sid and prosie)

2. Both of them came from well known families in their respective surroundings who were known (Abernathy - known rebels, Trinkets - speculation from cannibalism to mob gangster to rebels as well)

3. Both have a head of the families who doesn’t like wasting and never thrown anything out (Haymitchs mother and her resourcefulness and great aunt Messalina ‘never throwing anything out’)

4. They are both very social and knows everybody in their hometown and make friends easily

5. They are both kind ✨🩷

6. ‘Haymitch and Effie seemed to be in one mind’

7. Also about their families - both of them felt the effect of their family’s reputation (Haymitch with Lenore doves uncles not necessarily approved of their relationship, Effie with ‘it’s hard enough to be a trinket’ so much so she can’t take the credit she deserved for dressing Haymitch)

8. Both are passionate as hell (Haymitch is such a drama queen even without Lenore doves influence and Effie tendency to add theatricality to her way of speech and also the way they fight makes katniss uncomfortable and she also says that Cinna and portias presence ‘civilised’ their tone it’s so funny)

9. Both of them truly cared from the get go, and it showed and I feel like it was detrimental to katniss being able to be the mockingjay and for both katniss and peeta to win, since we know they both put it the work.

10. They are both good with younger kids (Haymitch with all the little tributes and Effie with the uni kids who act like kids anyway)

If she didn’t intend for us to ship Hayffie she wouldn’t have made Magno and Druscilla bicker with each other the way Haymitch and Effie do, and then later on reveal that the two are married.

Just saying.

One of the biggest differences is that Dru and Magno are bitches who don’t care about their tributes. Where as Effie and Haymitch do.

The other is that Effie and Haymitch do at least care about each other and I don’t get that impression from the other two.

(Also she was in the “teen spirit” movie and sang almost the entire soundtrack… )

So basically the Effie trinket fans got the best one - I mean we already knew that but we get confirmations of the fact by the hour.

That was the whole point! Since it’s katniss’s POV and she is walking first, she doesn’t see how Effie always watching Haymitch… which is something we get glimpses of throughout the films, but I do think this is the only one that is a parallel to the way Effie watch for Haymitch in sunrise on the reaping… those moments in the new movie are going to break my heart💔

I saw this tweet today and now I cannot ignore it. (Oh poor prosie)

I’ve listen to the sunrise audio book (to the parts Effie’s obviously in cause she brings so much joy and I love her) and then I read this post - I couldn’t agree more and I feel like we got more hints for this.

After the interviews, Plutarch takes the tributes to his house along with Effie and drusilla.

He arranges the phone call between Haymitch and Lenore dove, and right after that Effie shows up (eavesdropping maybe? Or just heard it by mistake?) also, during the propos they shot (with the careers insults) Effie is included in those - and does not bet an eye. I don’t think Plutarch would have included her in this If 1) she was that brainwashed 2) if he didn’t see her in action and marked her in his head to stay a part of the district 12 team from the get go since it would be beneficial for the rebellion

Also I feel like since he knew the Trinkets as a family and not just the nasty rumours - and probably knew their general personality as a family (from the glimpses we saw in Proserpina and messalina along side Effie - they are all seemed to be kind and generous and very family oriented with the fact that they are somewhat ostracised and have enough ambition to rise above it) he knew that she would be trustworthy and even if she wouldn’t do rebellious acts herself - she wouldn’t tell on them because 1) she truly cares about the tributes and wouldn’t do something to harm them 2)she is aware in some capacity on what snow or any other president could do to those who don’t obey since her family experienced that before but probably bounced back cause of their wealth.



NO ONE BETTER TALK TO ME ABOUT EFFIE TRINKET BEING A BRAINWASHED CAPITOL DOG.

She just dropped her make up box on accident. Haymitch is a gentleman. He stoops down and picks it up for her. Her first action is to be surprised. Not by the kindness, she doesn't think the District people are beasts the way Drusilla does, but because why would he extend his kindness to her. A Capitol mutt. Someone who will be watching the Games. Someone who is safe from the Games. In Effie's mind- Haymitch should hate her. Rightfully so. But he doesn't. He even offers her kindness. Bends to pick something up for her. Gives it back. He doesn't smash it, doesn't smile as he watches her be forced to pick it up. No. He just does it for her.

"especially given your circumstances."

He's to die in a few days. Why should he bother being sweet to her. Just as Maysilee didn't hesitate to smack Drusilla, he shouldn't hesitate to lash out at her. He's going to die. Why should he worry about being considerate. Effie knows and goddamn it if she won't address it and thank him for it. Address him by his name. thank him.

“I won’t hurt you.” “I know that. I've known who you are ever since you helped with my makeup box.” 

She just finished watching the Games. She saw Haymitch’s “brutality” and his violence. His first impulse, because he’s just about on the brink of believing it himself, is to reassure her that he’s not the monster they portray him as. He’s not going to hurt her. 

And Effie just goes “I know.” Just agrees, accepts. Dismisses the very notion that she could ever be afraid of him because of what he did. 

Sure, maybe she believed it all before. But no longer. Not after she met this 16 year old boy and knew who he was before the Games, and saw how they tried to change him after the Games, twist him into an image that he wasn't. She got to witness the propos firsthand and see how they forced Haymitch to appear like a cruel, insensitive, selfish jerk. She knows thats not true. 

Don’t tell me Effie swallows the propaganda and believes in the Capitol. She has a very fragile social standing, so she can’t speak out unless she wants to die, but that doesn’t make her a bad person. That does not place her on parr with the Prep Team. 

She’s Cinna, only less vocal, less willing to risk her life for a rebellion that she isn't really a part of. That does not make her lesser than. That just makes her human.

That beautiful art work remained me of that line after katniss told the team about her “hanging Seneca crane” and Effie was devastated about the whole thing, and of course she was worried about katniss and peeta but I think she was also accuainted with Seneca in some capacity - or perhaps they used to be together or something (I mean to me hayffie is endgame but it’s still a possibility).

This is how we knew Seneca was dead in catching fire

A “sentimental streak”? Cloud this be that Effie was the one to encourage or influenced him to keep both of her victors alive? (I know it was Haymitch in the films, but now book canon it doesn’t makes that much sense)

“Oh, Katniss,” says Effie in a hushed voice. “ How do you even know about that?”

This is such an hayffie song in the best way (unlike with snow and Lucy grey) -

“You ask for a reason I’ve got three and twenty” - i mean I’ll give you give and twenty if you want

“Every one think they know all about, they slap me with labels..” - both of them from rebel or otherwise ostracises families, and the labels that came with it, also the fact that they both have a character that they put out to the world that is actually different from who they truly are

“You are pure as the driven snow” - I mean Haymitch did work for 25 years to end the games and Effie… well we know Effie is no slacker, and she will pull punches if she has to

When Effie opened her mouth, what she ended up asking was one of those types of questions Haymitch couldn't ever prepare yourself for.

Not in a million years' time.

Maybe not ever.

And it was probably the one question he thought would never come from Effie trinket.

“Where are my children?”

Effie Trinket has children.

Effie Is a mother.

And he never knew, she never told him.

She knows everything about his family, not that there is much to know about - not after he won the games he was supposed to die in, and by defying Snow's request - brought death upon them.

He didn’t even know she had a partner, let alone a family of her own.

I’m her family, and she is mine.

The urgency of that thought alarmed him so much that he could feel his hands shaking more than they should have now that he was sober. He couldn’t think like that – everything he touched turn into ashes – except Effie.

And you had to risk it, didn’t you?

My new fic is up!!! Always love the fics about hayffie kids and with sotr it made me think about it again - so I wrote it ✨ and did the art banner for it ☀️😝

It sets during the ending of mockingjay and has flashbacks scattered along the way.

Right now I have a few chapter written - I will try and post them somewhat not far away from eachother 🩷
