why did Rayne turn down bureau protection for Finn? it's not like Finn is secretly lackmagic like Mash

I think you might be thinking of the literal definition of protection— while we don't have proof that the Bureau will use that as pretext to keep an eye on Finn's private life as a potential bargaining chip to steer Rayne in the direction they wants him to go, Rayne's ultimate goal is the overhaul of the society that the big wigs tried their best to keep a status quo on. Since Wahlberg warned him about it already, I'm sure he knew that some of them won't take kindly to his radical approach and will try to use Finn as a hostage if Rayne ever goes out of line. I think that's why he doesn't want the Bureau anywhere near Finn and opted to cut ties instead, since as far as Rayne's goals are concerned, the Bureau is technically his enemy.

Rayne's whole schtick is action over words so I'd imagine his doting will take the form of quiet observation and intervention whenever Finn needs anything.

He'd have a few of his most trusted staff keep an eye out on Finn's daily life and relationship and see where it would be appropriate to intervene on his behalf if needed.

Finn would have his pick for mandatory internships at Easton for his second and third year.

No one will dare abuse Finn's Secondth if they don't want to deal with an enraged Sword Cane.

The fake job ads might've stopped but the rigorous vetting process sure hasn't. The cost of preliminary inspection and background checks alone exceeds Finn's hourly wage lmao

Rayne won't explicitly condone this, but the dietician will make sure to have at least one of Finn's favorite dishes on the cafeteria rotating menu to gain some brownie points with him.

oh boy not another character we don’t have much on 🥲 jk I actually didn’t think much of him at first but this twitter artist really made me fall in love with the Rosequartz twins despite them not having much screen time (also a fan of Lovie/Charles because good god that person is phenomenal at drawing). Everyone should totally stop reading this and go look up tetota_tettou on twitter (they don’t do mashle art anymore unfortunately but their past fancomics are worth a million read 🥹🥹)

Asking about the future fic when Rayne gets into sibling merch which seems hilarious and I love it because he's so deadpan...but also because he's so deadpan and doesn't have a sibling complex in the way Lance does, I'm confused how that works. Like what is going through his head when Lance introduces him to the concept of sibling merch?How does Rayne feel when he's making it?

So the thing I like about Lance as a character is his siscon-ness never crosses the line and that other characters seriously called him out on it. His pure-hearted devotion to spread Anna's goodness around the world comes from a genuine wish to make everyone better by presenting them with what he thought of as the pinnacle of humanity. That's what Lance tried to show Rayne when he taught him sibling merchs, and Rayne's takeaway from that lesson is "sibling merch is a visible way for an older bro to show his support"

Atp Rayne had been ignoring Finn for years, and now that Finn has caught up to him (connections, friends, and soon-to-be money wise) there's nothing of value Rayne could offer that Finn couldn't get himself with a bit of effort, so the "spoil Finn with high-quality goods as sorry offering" route that Rayne had planned on would only feel cheap and send a message that his love could be quantified into materialistic things. As someone who value action over word, I think Rayne would be taken with the merch approach since Rayne will put every ounce of effort into making it looks good and he can wave it around to show the world instead of coming up with sappy speeches to tell Finn how much he love him.

As for what Rayne thinks while making merch I'm guessing it's mostly guilt since he would be reminded of how unsupportive he'd been to Finn until now what with distancing and telling him to drop out. Rayne knew in his heart that he was doing it for a worthy cause, but no amount of just reasonings can erase years of suffering from his brother's perspective. It might mean nothing now, but I think Rayne would put 120% effort into making sibling merch with Lance being with him all the way to assuage his own feelings.

I think Finn would be able to tell that making merch is helping his brother let out some of the guilt so he didn't have the heart to say 'istg please just stop this is incredibly embarrassing' as Rayne's staff served him tea in a cup with his own face staring back whenever Finn drop by lol

I haven't read the manga yet so I don't know about Hachita, but I feel like Rayne would kill to get the Usao role instead of Kumao :))) Honestly I also want modern AU Ames siblings to chill and be comfortable enough around each other to enjoy the modern luxuries so I hope they are like that too 🥰

Rayne being tsundere vs kuudere…thoughts? I know the author said tsundere, but I sorta feel kuudere fits better?

I personally think tsundere fits better since Rayne only have the face of a kuudere, not the personality. He gets riled up really quickly (Macaron & Delisaster) and hides his affections with barbed words (Finn). I feel like a kuudere would be much more cold and objective about everything.

Delistaster kind of reminds me of Sacchan — not so much in a I ship Rayne & Delistater, mainly in a both Deliaster & Sacchan are cray-cray (and probably obsessed with Rayne/Gintoki)

Delisaster and Sacchan do exhibit similar crazy frequency, but while Sacchan/Gintoki is kinda cute and in another universe I might’ve board the DeliRayne ship, unfortunately that one DeliRayne Twitter artist have scarred me for life. I don’t think I’ll be able to see Delisaster and Rayne breathing in the same space without thinking of them ever again, so hard pass for me unfortunately 🥲

TBC resume- The dream with 008: lol i just saw your comment, that was a fair reaction lol. I was describing a weird dream i had about the Mashle gang but it was too long to fit in one ask so I split it but it seems like only the second one got delivered. Basically in the dream 008 meets the Mashle gang, Finn Dot Lance are wary at first but then quickly warm up when they realize 008 isn’t evil. Lemon decides 008 is her and Mash’s first child (don’t ask if didn’t make sense in the dream either).
