Five years ago today, I was lying on the couch in my family home, watching the words of a person I had grown to find pieces of myself in as he bared his soul to the world just to make somebody like me feel a little less alone.

He said something at the end of that video,

And I’ll never forget hearing those words. Never forget drying my tears, quickly, before my parents came back.

See, the girl on that couch was planning far, far away futures. She couldn’t believe his words just yet, but now she could hope to.

Five years later, today, I wish I could tell her:

You don’t have to move halfway across the country to set a flag out on your desk.

Calling all Dan and Phil fans (former and current)!!! @onfjre and I are trying to put together a giveaway in support of this GoFundMe to help evacuate a Palestinian family out of Gaza. 100% of the proceeds would go towards this fundraiser.

However, we are trying to find things that people would want to be entered in a giveaway for. We are in search of these items because we don't own them ourselves, so if anybody were to have an item like this/something similar that you're willing to part ways with (and donate to the cause), please dm me! Especially if you are a former fan of them and are looking to maybe get rid of it, this is a great way to repurpose old merchandise for a good cause.

okay but now? after knowing what the project is, after getting a glimpse of who dan has become over these past 2 years-the lace blazer photo just makes me PROUD. He gets to celebrate this victory, winning this uphill battle with depression (maybe not the war, but a big battle nonetheless), and he gets to post photos of himself like this, vulnerable in ways he never was before. He gets to celebrate with Phil all they've accomplished, because Dan did it by himself, but Phil was there every step of the way. Seeing the context of that picture, the way it most certainly was a celebration for getting to announce this amazing thing he's been working on, it makes me so, so proud and so hopeful. He has matured beautifully into this amazing man, someone who, all he wants to do is help people. He puts such amazing things into the world from sheer passion and I, for one, cannot wait to see this new chapter. He's doing great and I'm so, so fucking proud. <3
