I see that your depiction of dark Boromir is pretty popular, and I think you should do the same for each of the other members of the Fellowship as well - partly because I think it's important for fans to realize that corruption via the Ring could have happened to any of them, and Boromir isn't a special case or a worse person just because we actually got to see him under the influence of the Ring. And also, fans seem to think a dark depiction of characters makes them sexier, and let's face it - several of the Fellowship already have a "sexy" element going for them. 😄 Sooo....

YOU'RE RIGHT AND YOU SHOULD SAY IT

The same thought occurred to me, too--it's easy to imagine how Boromir would react if he claimed the Ring, because he tells us, but how would Merry? How would Gimli? Legolas? Aragorn? What personality traits and earnest desires would it corrupt?

I'd definitely like to explore this, but it's going to be a little while before I can. I'm leaving in just a few days to start my summer ranger job, and it'll take a few weeks for my schedule to settle down. Even after that, I won't have regular access to WiFi, so posts are going to be less frequent. But rest assured I'll be mulling this over. Buckle up for sexy dark Pippin

Boromir: *holding one end of a string while someone else holds the other* “it’s like holding hands but without the commitment”

Gimli: “fight me tofu lady!”

Sam: “no bc i AM the best mac and cheese maker”

Frodo: “now i’m properly medicated and accessorized”

Merry: “I may not know what Alaska is, but I know where the gas tanks are”

Pippin: “Wait are humans mammals?”

I do truly believe Aragorn and Boromir were both trying to hit but Boromir was approaching it from a brothers-in-arms-who-might-die-any-day-and-move-accordingly-quickly manner and Aragorn was trying to do elf courtship which lasts about eighty years until first kiss and they just kinda. missed each other in the night and for the rest of their lives when asked about it would both wistfully be like yes... but he was not interested... So it goes... at least we had our warriors bond

Sometimes I randomly remember that Boromir only went to Rivendell in the first place because the road there from Gondor was full of perils and he didn’t want his beloved little brother to walk that dangerous path so he took the task upon himself like he took every task upon himself to spare Faramir and I just break down.
