being afraid

I have been inches from death in life. I’ve always been afraid of the dark (with the exception of a few nights on magic mushrooms that seemed to rob me of that fear). But my biggest fear? What other people might “say.” In an even shorter form: words. Ideas. 

“Just be yourself!” They say.

“Yeah! Screw what other people think!”

...but, not so easy – is it? at least in my experience - No. actually one of the hardest things to even begin to understand in life. densely weaved invisible fields of our own past and our own dreams of the future keep our heads looking in too many directions. worried about too many angles and unable to stop double checking for fear of an attack. 

The common phrases mentioned above are all time favourites ever since I’ve been a kid (even though everyone talks about GaryVee like he’s the first one to ever say this - maybe he’s just the best so far). One thing that gets left out of the conversation at least from my perspective - is one’s own judgement of others. I won’t explain, you know what I’m talking about and we all do it. I think looking deeply at some of these behaviours can definitely help to “unlock” another clue about how to actually BE you - whoever that is.
