This post has been in my drafts for over a year now. I’m not sure why it took me this long to share it. Usually the previews are the problem for me, but I already had those done?? (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)

Anyhow! I love the Nintendo Switch, and when I found out it had been converted to ts2 I just knew I had to turn it into a default replacement for the handheld game. EA’s original mesh had a polycount of 168, meanwhile the nintendo had a whopping 1546. I got rid of the buttons so now it’s down to 724, still high (compared to EA’s) but I don’t know how to decrease it any further. If anyone wants to give it a try, please go ahead! And if you know how, please teach me :-D

I re-made the buttons so they’re now in simlish and re-mapped the mesh a bit. The default replacement is red&blue, but I’ve included a grey recolor inside the download. If you want to use the grey recolor, you have to install jacobaoconnor’s CEP-extra for the handheld game. If you don’t care for it to be recolorable, only install vegankaktus_DEFAULThandheldgame. The default replacement and recolor goes in your downloads folder as usual. Also, @jellymeduza shared a fix for the handheld game here (scroll down) which I highly recommend downloading :-)

This default requires University and remember you can only have one default replacement for the handheld game in your downloads folder at a time. All files have been compressed to reduce file size. If you run into any issues, let me know!

ts2 edited graphicsrules.sgr + patched executables

since @vidcunds deactivated their simblr, which had a great tutorial on how to edit the graphicsrules.sgr file by hand to make it (hopefully) work with modern PCs,  I uploaded my personal graphicsrules files (for both the game and body shop).

this contains the following changes:

disableTexMemEstimateAdjustment set to true

enableDriverMemoryManager set to true

dirtyrect dynamicRenderStrategy set to 0 (to make reshade depth functions work in case you want to use them)

also included are executables for both ts2 and body shop that have been 4gb-patched.

Story Progression Mod - Open Beta!

So here it is! What I’ve been working on for the past few months! 

This mod attempts to add Story Progression into The Sims 2, kind of like in The Sims 3.

Current features include:

Aging: Inactive Sims will age up and die of old age.

Job Progression: Unemployed adult Sims will get jobs based on their interests and personality and progress in those jobs.

Relationship Progression: Inactive Sims will make friends, get in romantic relationships, get engaged and eventually married.

Pregnancies: Inactive Sims will get pregnant!

University Progression: Inactive Sims will go to university, pick majors based on their personality and interests and graduate.

Gender Preference: Inactive Sims will roll gender preferences.

Aspiration Progression: Inactive Sims will have varying levels of aspiration score.

So you’ve decided to play The Sims 2: The Big guide to TS4′s grandma

The Sims 2 for PC is an incredible game. It continues to entertain and delight people all over the globe over 17 years after the initial release. Personally it has been a huge part of my life.

It is, however, objectively ancient and thus a pain in the arse to set up and install in 2021 (or whenever you’re reading this). There are tonnes of resources out there to make the game run and look better but they are scattered across every corner of the internet. Finding and utilising these resources can be a nightmare for any new player.

I have 17 years of experience with getting this damn game to work and I thought that some of that knowledge could be helpful for newbies. So I’ve cobbled together this ‘ultimate guide’ which should hopefully help to setup a more stable and enjoyable experience from the beginning.

In the future, I want to add a Secret inventory option and the ability to sell Gossip.
