Louisiana’s Underground Music Scene | Feature
Tumblr media
Over the last couple months, I’ve become much more immersed into local music. Being from Louisiana, most would think ‘local music’ means Cajun or Zydeco — and at first, I did too. I didn’t think there would be much more than that around me. Maybe in New Orleans there would be a few fairly well-known alt-emo bands, but anywhere else? Ha.

The Academy Is... @ Trocadero Theatre - Philadelphia, PA (12.12.15) | Live Review
Tumblr media
“Attention, attention, may I have all your eyes and ears to the front of the room, if only, if only for one second…”
After The Academy Is… broke the hearts of fans everywhere back in 2011, it was a wonderful surprise when they announced a reunion tour after their “one time only” set at Riot Fest 2015 in Chicago, IL. They’ve been taking the country by storm throughout this December, celebrating the ten year anniversary of their debut album, Almost Here. Fans everywhere have been travelling across multiple states just to see the band, in fear that this would be their last chance to ever see them together. One of our writers had the opportunity to fly from Louisiana to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 12 to be able to see them for the very first time… and here’s what she had to say!
