Using An iPad SIM In An Android Phone (For Data Only)

I recently bought a cheap Android phone to experiment with, I bought the $80 BLU Studio C 5+5 on Amazon, full review coming later. I needed data on it but I didn’t want to fully commit my iPhone SIM just to test it out.  Since I have an AT&T iPad I knew that SIM could be used but it didn’t just natively.  After TONS of Googling, I stumbled across this forum post and instructions on Pocketables.

- Insert activated iPad microSIM (with SIM adapter) into Note - Go to Settings > Wireless and network > Access Point Names. There were already two APNs automatically set up on my device (AT&T and AT&T US HSDPA); don't worry if they're not on yours because you won't be using them anyway. - Tap Menu button > New APN - Tap Name > type whatever you want > OK - Tap APN > type broadband > OK - Scroll to the bottom of the list (leave everything you pass as is) - Tap Authentication type > None - Tap Menu button > Save - Select your newly created APN from the list by tapping on the circle on the right - Enjoy you data only device!

This worked for me and was super easy.  Your milage may very with different carriers.
