these are entertaining choices. I like the idea of being cured over a half hour of writing. magically chore actions? yes, please. getting paid is nice, but money isn't everything. for me, having control over time? that's something I can't do. Everything else in the list is something I can affect. I could write FOREVER providing I maintain my concentration? Do you get how powerful that is? My concentration is what helps my flow and having to keep an eye on the clock and having people come and interrupt me and my body making demands and the world just fucking existing and me in it? I will take an indeterminable amount of free time if I could just make some progress. And I could make so much progress if I were given enough time.

Is that logical? I so want to write logically progressive and entertaining stories.

June 14, 2025 - Patriot Front tried to confront a No Kings anti-Trump protest in Springfield, Missouri. They apparently overestimated how uselessly liberal the crowd at this protest would be, because they scampered back into their rental van at the first sign of pushback. One of them is so scared he even fucks up getting back into the truck with his buddies.

So far in LA an Australian news reporter has been shot in the leg by a rubber bullet, a British reporter has been shot by a sponge bullet and sent to the hospital for emergency surgery. A NY Post reporter has been shot in the head with a rubber bullet and went to the hospital for a large bruise on his forehead, whiplash and neck pain, and CNN reporters were handcuffed and escorted away being told to not come back or they will be arrested BECAUSE they are reporters.

It seems like all reporters there to give the real story are being targeted by police/ICE/military in LA.

playing games is tricky

I got my saved game in BG3 loaded and looked around the camp. I felt something I recognized and analyzed it. I don't actually want to play BG3 because it's not satisfying. And I'm not sure why.

except I do know why. it's not giving me instant gratification! I love adventure games, but something about how these particular games by Bethesda Softworks (BG1, 2, 3; FO 1, 2; Planescape, etc.), these isometric turn based adventures just don't satisfy the way other adventure games do.

I WANT to love these games, but even with the character generation and customizations and, I guess, choice in actions, they don't hit that little bit of dopamine I need to keep playing them. The little dopamine that does occur happens too far apart from the last one. The fights in between story beats also feel like slogs. like "I've been trying to get to the checkpoint, but I can't because I didn't grind my level up enough to beat this particular bad guy". And that's how you set up a gateway to lock off part of a world.

admittedly, a well balanced game does occur occasionally so that it doesn't matter if I'm leveled up. FO76 is doing that for me at the moment. I just now got into Left 4 Dead and am enjoying the community add-ons for L4D2. I'm almost inspired to create a level. But I'm not inspired to get back to BG3. Maybe I should start a new game? I found out about the mods. I got a few. I just don't know if I wanna play.

Am I asking for convincing? 'Cause no one's going to do that. But maybe a whole group of you could? How does the multiplayer work? I saw that option and felt a little curious.
