Days ago I heard the SB shopkeeper interaction in another language and he called Sett by his full name

I was confused AF at how he pronounced it. Now in SkinSpotlight at 4:17 it's even written in this new manner

It's such a minor thing but I do think Settric sounds better than Settrigh

YEAHHH i saw that video! I'm very certain the spelling of Settric is just an error, but I love the pronunciation. for the longest time i kinda just like, ignored sett's full name like i knew it was there i guess but in the same way that i ignored how to pronounce my own username lol. then someone brought up the thought of a 'cedrick' type pronounciation to me and i thought it was so cute i hoped it was the case because to me it sounded better than sett-ray or -rye or -rihh.

and behold, it IS HOW YOU SAY IT. so i'm very happy. its so so cute and there's no way anyone pronounces it right on the first try in a modern au.

i think if sett told talon that he had human ears once and they just shriveled up and fell off like baby teeth, talon's uneducated ass would believe him, albeit with scrutiny at first.

i once wrote talon comparing himself to a bug, wishing he would turn into something else if he was buried long enough, but after some thought i dont think canonverse talon would understand that caterpillars metamorphose into butterflies. he would probably think they're both two very separate bugs that have nothing to do with each other, and i think if someone told him about it he wouldn't believe them unless they were his superior, and even then the idea is silly to him, possibly even funny.

having birthday trauma is literally so embarrassing but i'd like to think its taloncore (or maybe settcore??? looking into this...) in order to feel better sdljkfjkl. i try and hype myself up but instead i just get really afraid and then it just feels like im trying to get attention. beating back the horrors fr. ANYWAY as an update, i was supposed to have a couple fics to post today but i'm just running behind, although i DID finish my last comm (yay!!!) i'll try and post them soon though, even if its only here.

Wait- So, in LoR, Sett is about to join a heist in Shurima with TF, Jhin and Akshan. And Talon is also in Shurima with his mom (?) healing by the end of the Katarina comic... I have no idea where I'm going this just feels like a win

NO FRRRR okay to be fair im 99% certain lor stuff like that isn't canon like it's just them exploring a what-if but like OKAY US TOO LIKE YEAH THEY'RE UHH IN PROXIMITY. but also that's such a fun premise for a meet cute and i'm now gonna chew on it. ive already written talon in shurima for a couple comms but like,,,, now i have to do the sett version fr it has to happen..... i think there's a very easy connection to be had with sett and talon both being 'originally from somewhere else' in this context. (as long as sett isn't afraid of getting bit, which he's not.)

I've been in the Talsett pit ever since Splendor Opus happened (WR only player srry) and I NEED to share somewhere the idea/hc of Obsidian Dragon Sett x Enduring Sword Talon cause... Imagine this arrogant royal, a literal dragon king, going to the strongest kin he can find and think for granted the other must serve him because, technically, he's still a dragon king despite turned mortal

Something something (maybe he does win against Sett, being weaker with his powers sealed away but still stronger than regular creatures???) and they travel to find Morgana, in the hopes to get his powers back because he knows she battled Irelia to restore it...

Only for Morgana to inform that Irelia lied, his powers weren't in her blade, but instead sealed someplace else of worth that can only be freed by good will (Talon himself shhhh nobody knows it yet)

So he.... Breaks. The only hope he had is- gone. And Sett is there no witness it

(also since Nami got her human body from Talon's magic does it mean she's like his creation? Would he acknowledge her??)

YESS tho when i think about like: talon losing his power (in a talsett x obsidian dragon au) i think of like, two main avenues.

one where talon is too ashamed to reveal the fact that he's a dragon bc of his humiliating loss. (sett has to discover the truth himself) and the other like you said, where he's still an entitled prick who encounters sett and decides: oh you're dragony, go do this for me right the fuck now, because i said so. in this case sett would not be receptive. he'd need some convincing or at least the promise of reimbursement fr. he's not gonna get pushed around by a guy a head shorter than him.

i think the main difference in both premises is just when talon loses hope. either right away or after failing one more time (esp with sett watching) like sett getting to see all of talon's desperate hope fizzle out in real time is so tragic aughhhhhhhhhhh

on the topic of nami i dont even know that they would encounter each other but i think talon would get weird vibes from her at the very least. (they're his. they're his vibes.) but ultimately he wouldn't know what the hell is going on.

as a side note bc we're on the topic i love thinking about the sea dragony aspects of talon still, like even though he's been stripped of his immortality/power he still craves heat (sett is very good for this.) and he misses the sound of the ocean and hoarding sea glass and he can feel a hole in his head where his dragons used to be. he's desperate for some stability/comfort and therefore craves everything he used to have, and he isn't inherently good at human things like don't give him money to spend. it's too shiny he won't want to get rid of it.

talsett ramblings.. another reason i Iove talsett thematically is because sett highkey embodies the perfect Noxian so it's like, how could talon not want him?

like if sett had lived in Noxus he would be slaying he would be beloved bc he's a pit fighter who has literally never lost, he's strong and he's proved it and no one would actually give a damn about his ears the way Ionians do. He lowkey represents a perfect Noxian, because he's someone that's made it just based on his own personal strength. Like that's the idealized Noxian dream!!

and, related, imo talon would be attracted to noxian shows of strength (provided it's well executed) so seeing sett bust someone up at the pit might make him feel some kinda way. sett is so perfectly noxian. talon is jealous and into it and attracted to what he might deem perfection and the themes are so fun ughghhghhg it adds a lot of texture.
